We had a marvelous meal and excellent service. I love the ambiance. We can't wait to go again.
Great as always! Servers were super nice!
Food, service, wine—all were very good and memorable. Very noisy but fun. Wish we had had enough room for desert; the desert cart was impressive! Overall, a very pleasant experience.
Service was great! We got our table right away, waiter was attentive at all times, food was delicious and served fast. Great place and definitely invited to come back.
We always enjoy Grotto - good food, attentive service! And unlike some nice restaurants in Houston they don't take up the entire parking lot for their valet - much appreciated! This time they went above and beyond by calling to let us know my husband had left his credit card at the restaurant. Another example of excellent service.
Son is a New Yorker and eat in some of the finest restaurants there...he wanted freshness and got it at Grotto
We went to have our family Easter meal. The food was very good and the ambiance was enjoyable. Our server was very lacking unfortunately and put a damper on an otherwise enjoyable dining experience.
Grotto is getting "tired" - our table top was scratched and had significant signs of wear. It was also dirty when we sat down - just gross. Service was good. The food was good - but nothing special. None of the other 3 diners were wowed by their meals. My salmon was overcooked and dry. The scampi focaccia appetizer was more of a pizza that lacked scampi sauce - just some shrimp and a few strips of basil. Been dining at Grotto since it was located in its original location in highland village and have enough history to know things are headed in the wrong direction. Based upon this last visit, I may be done as there are better options around town.
Everything was good or very good, except for the food. Two of our group got the Italian sausage/peppers/eggs for brunch. It was smothered in tomato sauce, and was not at all what the diners were expecting. Neither person ate much of it.
The french toast was good.
The cappuccino was very small.
The server was very good.
Excellent food & service as always at this fantastic Houston establishment!
Of all the restaurants now owned by the Landry's chain, this is one of our favorites. I can't say much for some of their venues but they got it right in this takeover. The former owner, Tony Valone, was the creator of the original menu and some of his masterful creations still exist. Enjoy the Pasta del Mar or the crusted salmon...dinner for three was actually quite reasonable. Service is always attentive. Food is always good.
Excellent food, the service outstanding!!! Great option!!! Best Gnochi in long time!!
Great atmosphere, but above all, outstanding service and food! Will definitely come back again!
Only problem was waiting for clients and told the front desk. When my clients arrived they sat them on the other side of the restaurant and not with me.
Good food. I probably would not come back on a Saturday night. Took 30 minutes to get wine and one hour to get dinner. However veal was delicious.
Fabulous ! Wonder lunch for a birthday outing
Enjoyed wait Dr's recommendation of chicken picata . client had chopped salad which was presented very well. Will be back.
I found the staff to be very welcoming and friendly, each and every person. The valet parking was easy, the table was ready, the service prompt, and the food delicious. A winner for sure. They have a very nice outdoor area for cocktails which looked tempting.
One of my favorites. Great customer service. Great drinks.
Always great food and great service from our favorite waiter Rafael.
Great local feel restaurant. Meatball appetizer is top flight.
Menu has an item for every palate.
Food was great. Waiter could have done a better job. Didn’t come around much and we had to ask for more bread and a dessert menu.
Food was delicious. Server was not very attentive.
Wasn’t the best we have had. Food served was not what my wife ordered but she ate it anyway. I guess everybody deserves an off day on occasion. It will be a while until we return because of this experience. Shame because she is a Presidents club level member and loves the Landry’s restaurants.
Very good! Waiter and overall experience was a little slow... had to continuously remind him we were ready for the next part of the dining experience but that was fine.
Excellent presentation and friendly staff
The food was great and the service was excellent. I highly recommend asking for Melissa as your server. She is wonderful!
The temperature in the restaurant was uncomfortably cold. We moved tables to avoid vents , did not help.
We finally moved outside to the patio, very windy but at least tolerable. Unfortunate.
I loved the Grotto. The service was wonderful from the bar to the dining area. We all enjoyed the food especially the Pollo Francese. Outstanding taste. The wood burning oven was a great touch for the pizzas. They were great too. Cocktails were delicious as well.
Start to finish we enjoyed this dinner. The only thing I would not recommend is the Fettucine with mushrooms, prochiuto and chicken in a Parmesan cream sauce. I normally love this kind of dish however the mushroom flavor was overwhelming and not used as an accent. They were very gracious in taking it back and replacing it with the Pollo Francese which was delightful! All in all a great experience we’d highly recommend.
This was my first time here. It was a lovely evening and Chris, the server, made excellent suggestions that helped me find my favorite dish. I will definitely consider going back to dine!
I love how cheerful and fun the staff is! Whatever you want or need! They are on top of it. Love this place and the good I always excellent!
Everything was perfect!
My husband and I have been coming to The Grotto for almost 20 years. We have been four times in the past six weeks. We love the 'look' of the restaurant. Our server Melissa, the past two times has been wonderful. The problem has been the food. The quality is just not the same as it used to be. We went to The Grotto for Valentine's Day. Specifics...our caesar salad was limp and soggy like it had been made the day before. I had the risotto special with shrimp. The shrimp were nice, the risotto was good not great. My husband had the rigattoni and it was not very warm and there was very little sauce. Our dessert, the coconut pie looked beautiful, but it was just a good piece of pie not a 'wow' piece of pie. It lacked in flavor. My husband and I were so disappointed. The Grotto is close to where we leave, is a beautiful restaurant, but the food quality needs to be improved.
Consistently good food and service. Always a favorite spot!
A great meal. The service was really good. We celebrated a birthday and they were lovely to sing, bring cake, and make her feel special.
Delicious, as always, and the perfect venue for cultivating a new business relationship.
It’s always nice to go eat there! Food and service is always excellent!
Excellent food and service as always!
