I dined at Grotto on Christmas Day and had an amazing experience. Went back with some friends for a birthday celebration and sat on the patio. Calamari was great. Meatballs and Mussels just okay. Bread was great. Service was just okay.

The mussels, ravioli, pizza, pescataro, spaghetti and Parmesan potatoes were delicious!

Service was fantastic. Everything was quick and delicious!

The food was great! There was no wait for our reservations. Everyone was nice although I noticed, there are absolutely no women on the waitstaff or kitchen with was different but I still had a wonderful time.

They sat people before all of us. They walked in and about ten minutes later they were seated. The lady that was next complained and they found her a table, but the rest of us still had to wait even longer.

The Grotto always has excellent, professional service and delicious food. It’s become a favorite for my wife and me. Constant quality and reasonable prices make this our favorite spot for Italian when we’re visiting Houston.

Very nice dinner. First time here. Pasta was really good. The bread too. Nice wine list and bar. Will be back

We have been here before and been to the one in Galveston ... This time however was the first time I would not give it 5 stars. There were maybe 3 -4 tables the entire time we were there.

We asked several times for a refill for the table from more than one person, and when we gave up and then got our food it wasn't exactly as we ordered. I would have asked for the correction on the side, but seeing as we didn't our refill how would I expect to get this? Maybe next time?

Amazing place and our waiter made the night perfect!

This place is so cheap! I was surprised because of how classy it is. Perfect for a date night. I highly recommend the ravioli allá vodka, and their gelato/dark chocolate cake was to die for!! They also have a nice selection of drinks. I got the signature peach Bellini, it was $8, super tasty and gave me a nice buzz lol. Service was impeccable and the bread appetizer w the olive oil was a great touch. 10/10 would recommend the grotto!! Will be visiting next time im in Houston.

We were running errands in the city so decided to incorporate lunch and looked on Open Table for something nice open for lunch and decided on Grotto. It was delicious! From the artichoke appetizer to soup to our respective entrees, just WOW! Excellent service, good wine selection, great ambiance. We will make plans to try Grotto for dinner service in the not too distant future.

We had a reservation for 11:30 and I had the printed copy of the reservation. When we got there we were told they did not open until noon. I wanted to leave but my husband wanted to stay. We got our drinks quickly and our order was taken. When we asked for bread we were told we could have it cold or wait until noon as that was when they opened. When I told the waiter we had a reservation for 11:30 he just stared at me and said nothing. I ordered the fettucine with mushrooms and peas as well as chicken. When it arrived it was totally without mushrooms or peas and was very bland. When I left I handed my reservation to the person who seated us and told him we felt very uncomfortable the whole time. He said they go through a third party for reservations and had no control over what happened. I guess you are the third party.

We had had Caprese and Caesar fantastic choices. The Caesar was perfectly ice cold. The fresh mozzarella made the Caprese perfection. Followed that with raviolis and a side of fettuccine Alfredo. Topping off this fabulous meal was dark chocolate cake and creme brûlée. Service was spot on.

The Service and food are always top notch at Grotto.

Great meal and fantastic service! We were looking for a place to get our Christmas Day dinner and everything was perfect from the Bellini to the appetizer and main course. Attentive service. Haven’t been there in several years and forgot how great this place is!
