When we sat at the bar to have a glass of champagne before our dinner, we were a bit worried. The decor looked dated (lots of yellow and dark brown), the bar had no "atmosphere" (e.g., the barman showed little energy) and everything else appeared to have low energy. However, we had arrived before 5 pm on a Sunday, so that's still a slow time. By the time we were ready to be seated just after 5:30 pm, the place had transformed itself into a very active restaurant, with a very diverse crowd age-wise. We were promptly seated in a nice booth and the vibe had become completely different. Our waiter was exceptional- we wanted to eat fish and he gave us his top two recommendations, which we selected. We eat out a lot, in the US and in Europe. I can say these two selections were among the best fish dishes we have ever had, for a very reasonable price. We also started with the fried green tomatoes and they were very good too. The wine list, although a bit short, offers interesting choices for a reasonable price, and our selection of a French chardonnay was a winner.
Overall, a winner- when in Huntsville again, we will definitely consider visiting Grille on Main again.
The service was fantastic and the staff went out of their way to make sure our anniversary was special. The food was phenomenal, and knowledge of the menu and drinks was superb. Love the ambiance and dim lighting, so romantic. Highly recommend.
Service was great as it could have been. Timely manner
The food was fine our crab cake appetizer was awesome. Dinner menu was not available had to eat from brunch menu
We just miss Grill 29 I guess
My family was so excited to eat at the new Boyce restaurant. Sadly, it was not what we expected. The service was mediocre and the food was nothing like what we expected. We made a reservation a week in advance and we were seated in the back of the restaurant near the kitchen. I ordered the shrimp cocktail. The very small (only 5 small shrimp) came out laying flat on a plate of wilted lettuce, no lemon slice, barely chilled and the cocktail sauce was not good. We ordered the flounder with crab and it was just average. The steak was ok. But just not a good all around experience since it was our first time at this location and we were celebrating a special birthday.
Our 2nd visit, we had a great meal and the atmosphere was nice. We place to visit again in the future.
I had the Southern Mans Dinner. The Chicken was tough and stringy. The coating was not crispy. The Pork Belly was undercooked. Very poor entrée for such a nice restaurant. The food has gone down hill greatly since we were there last. Back when it was Grille 29 we looked forward to coming to this restaurant. Now, I wouldn't recommend it to any of my friends.
The food was very good. The service was good but slow and seemed inexperienced. This was my second time there and I will go back. We sat outdoors with was quite pleasant except the occasional loud car driving by.
Went here for our 1st anniversary with our 2 month old. They were super accommodating and we sat outside to alleviate other guests of the potential timebomb we had with us (baby did great though). We had the lobster and braised short ribs (both which were executed great!).
Dessert is worth ordering as we shared a Tiramisu ice cream sandwich. That was the best bite of the night which was a tall task. Service was excellent and the setting was befitting of an upscale experience.
Great food and ambiance, definitely one of the best brunch places in the area.
I really enjoy going to Grille on Main. Maki and Corey are awesome.
I ordered the lobster tail and it seemed a bit under cooked.
Service was great! Will definitely dine there again.
Loved everything about our experience. The food was amazing as well as everything else. Will definitely be back! Thanks for a great anniversary evening!
Everything was great however, the bone in ribeye ($42) was nothing to rave about. Texas Roadhouse has a better steak. The chicken ($24) was awesome though. The keylime cheesecake ($9) was also great. The service was excellent. Would definitely go back but not for the steak.
Service was excellent and food had great flavor. We sat outside on a rainy evening, so noise was not a factor. Overall another great experience for our second visit to this restaurant.
The food and service were great. There are great selections on the menu and usually a great special. The short ribs are tender and delicious. The nightly special was duck breast and was also tender and juicy. We had the sweet butter cake for dessert and it was fantastic. The prices are very reasonable and the portions were ample. Service was friendly, quick and attentive. Definitely recommend and we will be back.
We all had steaks and they were very good. Great ambiance.
Delicious food and great service! Definitely try the seasonal meat and cheese board along with the short rib!
Everything was delicious.. one of our party said that it was the best dirty martini she had ever had.
Delicious food, outstanding service, reasonably priced! I WILL be back!
Grille on Main is a favorite of ours, always good and very reliable. The food is prepared well and served in a reasonable time with very nice presentation. This is our "go to" for special occasions. We highly recommend it!
We dined at Grille on Main to celebrate a birthday! We were immediately seated (we had reservations) and also immediately greeted by our server who was very attentive. The seating was comfortable, the food was exceptional and service was fantastic. We never felt rushed. A little more light would have been helpful to more clearly see the menu but otherwise have no complaints. We will definitely be back and recommend it to others.
The wife had the scallops while I had to braised short ribs. Both were excellent and very filling.
We sat inside and could still hear the nice live music which was being played outside.
No negative comments whatsoever!!
We sat outside - live music playing - hence the energetic noise level. Inside was quiet. I had the filet au poivre and it was delicious. Wife had the crab stuffed flounder and it was even better than my filet. Our server (Chaz?) did an excellent job. For desert, I had the sweet butter cake - excellent, incredible, the best. My wife had the Chocolate Trio which was good. I'm not sure why, but the food and service here is noticeably better than Boyce's restaurants downtown (Commerce Kitchen and Cotton Row). My new favorite spot.
Chef has really brought his game to this new location. Dinner is incredible, and we did lunch yesterday to find excellent southern choices prepared with flair (but not overdone). The chicken, trout, and fired oysters were delicious, and I would urge you to give it a try during the day.
Awesome place! Always great service and great food! I highly recommend.
Great food an service.
A scheduled event was rained out. Needed a last minute reservation and saw grille on main had one available. We were seated immediately and had an amazing server who was very knowledgeable and friendly. Our food was plated beautifully and tasted amazing! Appetizers, entrees, and desserts were all perfect.
Wonderful service and great food.
Overall, the experience was good. The service and atmosphere was outstanding and the food was good but not memorable. I would definitely recommend though.
Great food!! Courses paced out perfectly so my family and I could enjoy our night out without rushing to eat.
Excellent food and service (thanks Jake!)
Good as excellent!! I can't wait to return. I highly recommend.
Our waiter was very nice and and the meal was wonderful.
Delicious food, cooked perfectly! Perfect for a nice night out
The atmosphere was very relaxing: low light, comfy seating, fireplace. The staff was extremely friendly. And the food was phenomenal!! My husband and I will definitely be going back soon.
Cory is awesome at the bar area! Love the little tables and the atmosphere. Never had a bad experience.
I have eaten at Grille on Main at least 6 or 7 times and tried a number of different entrees, appetizers and almost every dessert. I have determined that while the main entrees have all been very good, the side dishes are average and could use improvement. I would also mention that on my last two visits my food didn't come out as hot as I would have liked. I'm going to give some grace given the staffing difficulty restaurants are having but at the price point of this restaurant the food needs to be interesting and consistently above average. Service has always been very good, & the atmosphere is very nice especially the noise level which is conducive to carrying on conversation with ease. Hoping to see some tweeks to the menu going forward.
It was fine. Bethany our server was a 10 star!! Some of wife’s food was over cooked, mine was good. Appetizer was cold. All-in-all, okay experience. Not at same level as other restaurants that this chef has in town.
