Grill Café at The Standard
For a more formal dinner experience, visit the page of the Standard Grill to reserve a table in our intimate back dining room (Tuesday - Saturday).
It is always fabulous but it was definitely loud! For a Sunday am
Gorgeous and welcoming interior, excellent food...above and beyond excellent service. I can't praise this place enough. A worthwhile and wonderful experience while in NYC. We had brunch then jumped on the Highline...a perfect way to spend the morning.
food arrived two hours after we were seated. horrible. also too loud in the restaurant.
A great way to cap off a walk on the High Line !!!
The staff were attentive. The staff were thoughtful in handling the needs of a partly disabled customer with a foldable wheel chair, which they offered to stow.
The steak was cooked as requested; the fries were perfect in cooking and presentation; the lobster sandwich had lots of lobster, including large and delectable pieces from the claw.
We arrived early for our reservation but were seated promptly. It took a while for the waiter to take our drink order. It was hard to tell if there was a language barrier or if he was just a little rude. Once the food came it tasted good, but I am not sure it was worth the price. We had to hunt down someone to get drink refills. Overall not a great experience.
Wonderful food great serive
Great brunch spot, any season. Casual (it's not the Standard Grill), excellent servers, reasonable value for location
I'm used to have the brunch here. It is one of my favorite. Great atmosphere, great food quality. I'll be back here soon!
A bright cheerful dining area, great breakfast, excellent service .
You can't beat the neighborhood for energy and the grill cafe for a combination of laid back and taste. The lunch menu is pricey but the quality is great. Had the warm salmon on a bed of pickled cucumbers and potato, strange but delicious. My guest had tomato and mozzarella salad that was exceptional. The lemon tart was perfect. Breakfast is fun there, cheerful and welcoming and I used to go when I lived a few blocks away.
Great experience- perfect for entertaining business associates
Perfect brunch spot on a nice day! Avocado toast was good, cocktails were fantastic, and chocolate chip cookies were EXCELLENT. A little slow at some points because of current renovation, but our server was lovely and made up for it. Would highly recommend!
Shares great wine list with the Grill but with the more casual, brighter cafe seating.
No pre bussing long waits for service and no check in’s except for the very end of meal. Asked for all East Coast oysters and got a mix. Asked for more of the red wine vinegar mignet and it never came. The jam on iberico was old and tough not like the 1st we had it. (It melted in Your mouth) zero hospitality. Waiter seemed experienced but could care less.
I hope my feedback reaches the right ears because I’ve been coming to the grill since his conception and I hope to want to continue to come.
My friend started a new job and I wanted to take her out to celebrate.
I’m so glad we came to the Grill Cafe at The Standard!
We were seated in the garden as requested. The waitress surprised us by bringing glasses of champagne to our table when she greeted us. It was so appreciated and kicked off a wonderful dinner.
Everything was perfect.
Everything was delicious and perfect!!
Probably our worst meal in nyc and we done our daily. Poor food, poor service. Will not go back which is sad because it is located near our apartment.
A nice stop off the Highline and Whitney. The brunch menu is a little limited but overall the food is good and the service was first-rate. Fortunately, not a tourist trap off the Highline.
Service was very slow and seemed disorganized?
Incredibly slow service for lunchtime. Over 40 mins for food. Rushed through eating and had to ask for check.
We were in an area of the City with many pricey dining options. We chose the Standard Grill because it was listed as not being outrageously expensive. The place exists to separate tourists from their money. Good looking room in a good location. Hostess staff was efficient and warm. Wait staff was uneven in performance. Food is mediocre at best. Very small portions of mediocre food at high prices. In addition, we sat for an inordinate amount of time while a couple seated after we were got their drinks and food at the same time. We got all of our food, starters and main course at the same time. We were told that it was a computer problem and that management was alerted. We were told management would make it up to us. No adjustment was made to the bill. Spend the extra money and eat at a good place in the Meat Packing District. This ain’t it.
Waiter passed over us 4 times. Taking orders for others seated much later than us. Waiter did provide bread he indicated he would get for us. The waiter failed to put in our order and walked around taking more orders. A simple hour and a half dinner turned into 2 1/2 hours.
We were very disappointed in the way our waiter treated us, while having a great time with other patrons.
This was a very disappointing experience as we have had lovely time for breakfast here many times.
Our children ordered the fried chicken when it arrived it was completely raw (dangerous) we sent it back and were promised a newly cooked batch which we did receive, again completely raw. They did take this off the bill but honestly serving raw poultry twice to children is pretty unacceptable.
We won’t return.
Fabulous food and atmosphere.
Glasses and plates smelled. Drinks ordered were forgotten. Everything was average.
Very poor service. Burger was lukewarm and AC was freezing cold.
Absolutely terrible service. Could barely get them to give us a glass of wine.
Service was just fair Took a long time sitting outside in front for server to come. Never brought 2nd egg i ordered. Finally after brunch brought 2 hard boiled eggs in shell. Not what i ordered.
Poor service. Waited 20 min for my table. Waited another 20 min to order. Drink was forgotten. Wrong dessert order. Took forever to get check. The service is usually a bit slow, but not this bad!
Not the most creative menu (this is the grill, I guess) but an OK selection and very solid delivery. My friend said "these are the best fries I've ever had." Creative drinks. Attentive service. Nice lighting.
Server got the order wrong and disappeared (runner deliver food) and never followed up to verify if correct. I won’t go back
What a GREAT staff. The maitre d was impeccable and moved us quickly to an inside table when an unexpected rain storm hit.
the food is great but I really miss the asian style hanger steak salad they used to have at lunch. however you can add steak to any other salad if you like.
Great Food ...Super Chef Anthony Ricco...previously Spice Market / Jean George
Great food, excellent service. Would have preferred from room seating which is brighter and more cheerful. Next time I will request.
I've eaten here several times. Always enjoyed it, but this visit was below par. Did not like item I ordered; it arrived missing items that were described on the menu and was not at all as described on menu. Took one bite and knew I didn't like the food. Unfortunately, wait staff did not come near my table for close to 25 minutes, so I was unable to explain the problem and send food back/order something else. My husband had already finished eating his meal! To their credit, restaurant took the item off our bill but I ended up with no lunch and was hungry (we had an appointment afterwards so I couldn't hang around and order another meal!). I may well go back again, but this experience definitely will make me think twice.
I always take my mom here for brunch. Ridiculously overpriced but consistent quantity and nice atmosphere. They could learn to make a better Bloody Mary.
Great location, good service, but meh and overpriced food.
