My husband and I went on a 'Steak Tour' in 2018, trying to find the best steak in Boston. We ended up finding the best place, and this is the place! We've been back about 20 times since then, and it may have saved our marriage more than once. Since Yelp has a 5000 character limit, please see the photos for a full review of all the dishes that we have tried (about 10,000 words!).
We typically get two appetizers, one entree, one or two sides and dessert. We almost never get to try the non-steak entrees as we come here when we crave steak (and by steak, we mean specifically their “100 Day Aged Prime Ribeye”). But for those who don't want to read:
TL/DR: Everything is good but their "100 Day Aged Prime Ribeye" is the BEST steak in Boston.

Food was good but service was lacking. We had to wait a long time from appetizers to dinner and from dinner to dessert. It should not take this long. Also, it took a very long time to get our check. I literally had to put on my coat before someone came with the check. Disappointed in my experience.

We went to Grill 23 to celebrate my husband's retirement. The evening was perfect. As soon as we walked in the door, the staff made us feel welcomed and understood that this was not an average night out. Our party was seated at a large round table, as had been requested. Waitstaff was attentive, polite and friendly. Cocktails were up to the usual top notch standard. Last but not least, the food was fabulous! Steaks were cooked to perfection! And of course, we ended the dinner with the famous coconut cake. The evening was a big success!

The steak was very good. I was not a fan of the Brussels sprouts. The au gratin potatoes were okay, not my fave. All in all a nice dinner.

We visited grill 23 for dine out Boston and it was delicious! The service was amazing! Everyone enjoyed their dinner and drinks
Our entire party ordered from the Dine Out Boston menu; everything was beautifully plated and delicious. Service was attentive. We had a corner table upstairs, which meant we could actually converse throughout the entire meal, while the rest of the establishment was more lively and noisy. It was a beautiful evening.

We took friends from Philadelphia to celebrate the release of their new book, and Grille 23 delivered, as always! Upon hearing what we were celebrating, the maitre d' sent over a seafood tower (!!) which was delicious. Our waiter was great - professional, personable, and unobtrusive. My husband and I both had Steak Frites, which was delicious. Our friends enjoyed the baked chicken and the crab cake with potatoes au gratin. We all devoured our meals and had fun talking and catching up. The coconut cake was wonderful, as was the warm chocolate chip cookies. We had a great time, and we will be back!

I went there for Dine out Boston... My server Tim M was exceptionally well mannered and up to par for the place, even though I thought the service would have lacked for the occasion... Tim proved me wrong at every turn... 5 stsr place through and through

There is no sound absorbing material so the noise level of chatter from others dining was uncomfortable. In addition, there was very little space to walk between tables if you need to go to the restroom. We were seated in a corner on the first floor, the waiter had trouble coming by because he couldn’t get by. Seems like a hazard if there were ever an emergency and need to evacuate. Food was fine. Great steak but not worth the overall experience. I’ve sat upstairs before and enjoyed that best.

Too noisy ( packed- good buildings but too noisy to have a good conversation over dinner, that pity.
