We had our thanksgiving dinner here. We were disappointed. The service was very lousy, super-slow, bathrooms were smelly and dirty! I could not believe it for the price charged. Truly overrated.

Thanksgiving Day meal was average. Service was fair at best. The kitchen was Not flexible with the menu options. No person staffing the coat check despite several guests arriving and departing. With tip (20%), average cost was $111 per person. We won’t be back. My third visit to this iconic restaurant and I have been disappointed every time. Too bad—we dine out frequently and Davios around the corner will continue to receive our business.

I’m sorry, but I am disappointed that this is apparently one of the best steakhouses in Boston. The standard is well above the standard fare for Boston but that standard seems to be well below par for the rest of the USA east coast let alone the world and not worthy of the price. The meat was good quality but unfortunately not prepared to the same standard. There is no option for mustards or other typical additions to a steak instead they have sauces that lacked flavour that you pay additional for. The premises and ambience are nice and that side of things is well done as is the service but the kitchen lets the whole thing down and honestly is not worth the premium price you will pay...having recently eaten a much better steak for a lower price in the heart of New York (Manhattan) I can only feel disappointed....

The food was very good. Our waiter very not very attentive. My porter house was overcooked and the waiter or the manager did not apologize for the mistake. I ordered a medium rare and it was well done. If this was not a high end steakhouse I would not be as picky.

Busy, vibrant place with great service and amazing food. Can't go wrong with their various cuts of steak here. A little loud for an intimate meal/date, but would be great with a group of friends/family for a lively celebration. Finished off with a great bread pudding and chocolate layer cake.

The service was very good, ambiance was as well. The meal was just okay. Our dessert was scrumptious and the manager took care of our wine, coffee and dessert which was very nice of him.
Overall we had a wonderful night just a little disappointed in our meals.

While our food was delicious, my experience was very negatively impacted by the 40 minute wait to be seated despite having a reservation. We were told it would be 10 minutes even though we were exactly on time and ended up waiting 40. Further, once we were seated, our table was squished up against a temporary wall in the back corner of the restaurant. I wish the table had been worth the wait. The service and food were great, though.

Gracious welcome. Great drinks at upstairs bar. Was an anniversary, which was noted by all. Lovely corner booth upstairs. Neil was server-just terrific. A funny, knowlegable guy with great suggestions. Fun conversations with Brad, beverage manager and connoisseur of single malt scotch.
Lovely dessert with white chocolate congrats on anniversary.
A perfect evening and special food.

Food and service was terrific. We asked to have our table changed because it was near the door and was told they had nothing else for us. We took the table and got a blast of cold air whenever the door opened. Very pricey

Went to Grill 23 to celebrate my birthday with my family. The service was excellent as was the main courses - 100 day dry aged strip and pork chop. The tater tots are also amazing but the lobster Mac and cheese and brussel sprouts are better at other steak houses. It would have also been nice to have my dessert on the house as some of the other places such as Capital Grill do. Overall, loved my steak, loved the service, was underwhelmed by the sides, loved the desserts but would have appreciated the birthday discount!

It's a little loud but that did not detract from the overall AAAA+ experience. Table of 6, clients and colleagues in tow. Service is top notch, from the time we entered through departure. The food was amazing wonderful. Alaskan King Crab, PEI oysters, and mushrooms as starters. Tuna Steak, Swordfish, Ribeye, and Filet Mignon were ordered for the main course. Desserts all around to finish. Highly recommended.

We hosted a business discussion roundtable focusing on legacy issues. I hadn't been to this restaurant before and booked sight unseen from across the country. I asked the restaurant in advance to provide us with a round table out of the way so we could conduct our business in relative privacy and they hit it spot on. Our server was attentive while unobtrusive. The gathering went later than we expected because everyone felt so enthralled with the discussion and the setting meant people weren't looking over their shoulders worrying who was listening. While noise in the restaurant is moderate, our seating was perfect as we were tucked out of the way. It was even better than being in a secluded private dining space. The food was delicious, everyone felt catered to and, as the host, I was elated to have such an easy delightful experience. This will be my go-to spot for future events when I'm in Boston.

Good ambiance, great service, food is average nothing special hence the price is a bit much. Adjust the price down and it will be perfect or get a better chef and keep the piece the same.

We had a wonderful time at Grill 23. My brother, his fiancée, my
Mother and I celebrated my Mom’s birthday here and we could not have had a better time. The service was impeccable and knowledgeable, our sommelier was brilliant and fun, not once did we stop smiling the whole time we were there. We dined upstairs and it felt like we were among friends. Would absolutely return and recommend!

The 2 ribeyes were (way) under cooked. My fault for not sending it back. The atmosphere was nice but were at the worst table location near the kitchen/bathroom/bar. The sides portions were small. Good food but not a great value.

Leila was a lovely hostess and Olivia was an excellent server - professional, knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. We never had to wait for our water to be refilled or to be looking out for staff - someone was always nearby in case we needed anything. The ribeye, filet mignon, porterhouse cuts were all delicious, as were the bread pudding and the chocolate cake and the bread! We did notice that the prices went up considerably since last year at this time - approximately $10 or so for the beef dishes! My cocktail, a mix of vodka and fruits were delicious, but I feel that $18 for a cocktail is just too much. Grill 23 is a fantastic restaurant - the beef and the service in particular, but given the high cost it will remain a restaurant we only visit yearly for special occasions.

As a whole the establishment, ambiance and food were fantastic. Our 100 day aged ribeye was amazing. Vegetable sides were ok. We sat just to the left of the entrance against the windows facing I think Stuart Street. ( we are from Golden Co ) A very loud spot to sit in. It was hard to have conversation with our own table without hearing everyone else. Don’t get me wrong. I ordered flowers that were spot on and are now sitting on our counter in Golden Colorado. We will be back the next time we are in Boston for sure. Out time there was rewarding.

Extensive wine list but most bottles are well over $100, many over $400 and some over $1,000. Go if you are an oenophile because the food and service (never mind the prices) are better elsewhere.

The food quality was excellent. My steak was cooked as I requested and very flavorful. The sides were large enough to share. When we arrived it was busy with reasonable background noise, but as the dinner progressed and more people arrived it got quite loud and it was difficult to continue a nice conversation with my dinner mate.

Nice place, good service, very good wine list. Worst place ever eaten in for noise. Had to yell to my wife across the table to be heard. Sat next to a table of loud drunks who continued to receive drinks even though they were wasted. Wouldn't go back

We were meeting our niece from Atlanta; the restaurant was equidistant for each of us. Service is first-rate. The vibe is monied carnivore. Mostly a business crowd. Over whelmingly guy. Got loud. Everyone loved their meal. We didn't need dessert but forced ourselves. Valet parking was seamless. We'll be back.
