Grill 23 & Bar Ratings and Reviews
The food was very good. Our waiter very not very attentive. My porter house was overcooked and the waiter or the manager did not apologize for the mistake. I ordered a medium rare and it was well done. If this was not a high end steakhouse I would not be as picky.
The service was very good, ambiance was as well. The meal was just okay. Our dessert was scrumptious and the manager took care of our wine, coffee and dessert which was very nice of him.
Overall we had a wonderful night just a little disappointed in our meals.
While our food was delicious, my experience was very negatively impacted by the 40 minute wait to be seated despite having a reservation. We were told it would be 10 minutes even though we were exactly on time and ended up waiting 40. Further, once we were seated, our table was squished up against a temporary wall in the back corner of the restaurant. I wish the table had been worth the wait. The service and food were great, though.
Gracious welcome. Great drinks at upstairs bar. Was an anniversary, which was noted by all. Lovely corner booth upstairs. Neil was server-just terrific. A funny, knowlegable guy with great suggestions. Fun conversations with Brad, beverage manager and connoisseur of single malt scotch.
Lovely dessert with white chocolate congrats on anniversary.
A perfect evening and special food.
Went to Grill 23 to celebrate my birthday with my family. The service was excellent as was the main courses - 100 day dry aged strip and pork chop. The tater tots are also amazing but the lobster Mac and cheese and brussel sprouts are better at other steak houses. It would have also been nice to have my dessert on the house as some of the other places such as Capital Grill do. Overall, loved my steak, loved the service, was underwhelmed by the sides, loved the desserts but would have appreciated the birthday discount!
It's a little loud but that did not detract from the overall AAAA+ experience. Table of 6, clients and colleagues in tow. Service is top notch, from the time we entered through departure. The food was amazing wonderful. Alaskan King Crab, PEI oysters, and mushrooms as starters. Tuna Steak, Swordfish, Ribeye, and Filet Mignon were ordered for the main course. Desserts all around to finish. Highly recommended.
We had a wonderful time at Grill 23. My brother, his fiancée, my
Mother and I celebrated my Mom’s birthday here and we could not have had a better time. The service was impeccable and knowledgeable, our sommelier was brilliant and fun, not once did we stop smiling the whole time we were there. We dined upstairs and it felt like we were among friends. Would absolutely return and recommend!
Leila was a lovely hostess and Olivia was an excellent server - professional, knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. We never had to wait for our water to be refilled or to be looking out for staff - someone was always nearby in case we needed anything. The ribeye, filet mignon, porterhouse cuts were all delicious, as were the bread pudding and the chocolate cake and the bread! We did notice that the prices went up considerably since last year at this time - approximately $10 or so for the beef dishes! My cocktail, a mix of vodka and fruits were delicious, but I feel that $18 for a cocktail is just too much. Grill 23 is a fantastic restaurant - the beef and the service in particular, but given the high cost it will remain a restaurant we only visit yearly for special occasions.
As a whole the establishment, ambiance and food were fantastic. Our 100 day aged ribeye was amazing. Vegetable sides were ok. We sat just to the left of the entrance against the windows facing I think Stuart Street. ( we are from Golden Co ) A very loud spot to sit in. It was hard to have conversation with our own table without hearing everyone else. Don’t get me wrong. I ordered flowers that were spot on and are now sitting on our counter in Golden Colorado. We will be back the next time we are in Boston for sure. Out time there was rewarding.
The food quality was excellent. My steak was cooked as I requested and very flavorful. The sides were large enough to share. When we arrived it was busy with reasonable background noise, but as the dinner progressed and more people arrived it got quite loud and it was difficult to continue a nice conversation with my dinner mate.
We were meeting our niece from Atlanta; the restaurant was equidistant for each of us. Service is first-rate. The vibe is monied carnivore. Mostly a business crowd. Over whelmingly guy. Got loud. Everyone loved their meal. We didn't need dessert but forced ourselves. Valet parking was seamless. We'll be back.
The food was phenomenal but the service was just ok. We were first directed to a table near the kitchen when there were plenty of other tables available in more preferable locations in the dining room. We asked to be moved closer to the center of the room. The wait staff was not that busy as the restaurant was half empty due to Halloween but they were not particularly attentive. We really had to flag them down to get our needs met.
Excellent food and personable service make Grill 23 a very positive experience. The wine list is encyclopedic and outstanding (it probably could use a few more lower priced options). We use Grill 23 as one of our special occasion restaurants. It never disappoints us. We will be back.
