Servic was fantastic. The manager ran out in the rain to grab a lobster when they were out of stock. Food was delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Even though the food is very pricey, I can't say I didn't enjoy every bite of it. If you are looking to treat yourself to a great steak, then this is the place. The waiter was very hospitable and understood exactly what I meant when I asked for medium-medium rare. I would definitely choose Grill 23 over Ruth Chris, very good experience. Btw sides are enough to share with 2 maybe 3 people.

I have eaten here one other time and had a better meal and evening.
Arrived earlier than our reservation and was seated immediately, at a table for 2 with one seat facing the wall. Many other seats were available. Overall food was good, but pricey. Service was choppy at the start trying to get a drink order in. they didn't have a type of rum requested and it was back and forth with that and then the server forget what the second drink was.

I wouldn't not recommend it, but it would not be on the top 2 choices for us again.

All in all, a decent place for a good steak but I probably will not be back.

Ambience (C-):
I had a reservation lined up for weeks for my wife and I and when we arrive, they walk us past plenty of empty tables in the main dining area to a conference room that was completely separate and definitely not as nice as the main dining areas. The conference room turned overflow dining area pretty much ruined the whole experience for me; it was too quiet and awkward to have a normal dining conversation. In hindsight I should have requested another table.

Service (B-):
We were seated right next to a busy wait station and our waiter seemed new and shy. Our server asked my wife if she would like her martini "on the rocks" which is not something I have ever heard before and wouldn't expect at a restaurant of this caliber. She said 'no' and it still came with lots of ice in it. Despite being in a very quiet part of the restaurant, we had difficulty understanding our server when he spoke as he kept mumbling and spoke too quietly.

Food & Drink (B):
The steak was very good but not the best I've had (see below). It was cooked correctly and had great texture and a good crust on the outside. The braised heirloom carrots were excellent. The mashed potatoes were bland and totally forgettable. Dessert was good but the cappuccino was weak and tasteless like it was made with old beans. Drinks were good but nothing special (aside from the martini on the rocks). I would hazard to say the drinks are overpriced ($20 for a Kettle One martini and $19 for a Maker's Old Fashioned). My wife did say she thought her chocolate cake was the best she's ever had. I tried it and it was indeed very good.

All in all, the whole experience was overpriced (bill came to $205). You can get better food, better ambience, and better service for roughly the same price at the Hanover Street Chophouse in NH. That place remains the gold standard by which I judge all other steak houses.

we drove from nyc for a visit, we asked to sit upstairs in a quiet room, for my wife's bday. everything was perfect. I had the 100 day dry aged rib eye and my wife enjoyed the waygu cap,
both cooked perfectly. they were two of the best steaks I have ever eaten! the drinks were large and desert great. I eat steak in nyc at least once a week and this was worth the trip! I just wish I could have visited the aging room,, next time

Came here to celebrate my fiance's birthday and had one of our best dining experiences ever.
The 100 day aged rib-eye was the best steak I had ever tasted in my life. The Halibut dish was also incredible. Our server Dan was friendly and knowledgable without being overbearing. Service overall was amazing. My water glass was never empty and the hostess was also very nice. Really great experience all-around and worth every dollar spent.

Excellent service. Had the prime ribeye and crispy hash browns. Good flavor on the steak, but not as tender as I expected.

I'd like to have given our waiter 5 stars but he did forget to put the wine order in. Not too big a deal but I do like my wine to breathe a bit before drinking. So it wasn't really ready for the meal. In his defense he was busy with a few large group tables. But given the waiters don't bring the wine and all he had to do was put it in the computer.

Awesome 100 Day aged steak! Tip, you can split an entree and salad to save some money and room in your stomach for their Coconut cake (which is also enormous). Neil and all the servers were great! Highly recommend. Best Steak I Ever Had!

We had a lovely pre-concert dinner. Good fish for her and steak for me. Both done perfectly. The a la carte order of potatoes was huge and delicious, and there was enough left over for dinner the next day. Our only concern was how loud it was.

First class service and an excellent meal. Kobe Cab steak was absolutely perfect. It was a fabulous experience overall. Our server, Dalton, was top notch. Highly recommended. You will not be disappointed.

It has been a more than a decade between visits to Grill 23 and the place is just as great now as I remember. The steaks are still the best in the city as is the ambiance. I would recommend for a special occasion or just a excellent night out.

The 100 day dry aged Ribeye was spectacular! A little disappointed that we were placed at the top of the stairs at a table for two. It was like being in the middle of the street.

We visited here from
Atlanta, and loved it.
As avid steak eaters, we were highly impressed by the quality! We both agreed this was one of the best steaks we have eaten. Prices are fair marketer value as well!
