Wagyu Beef was AMAZING! In fact everything we ordered was AMAZING! Our waiter was AMAZING! The Host/Manager(?) so kind and accommodating! Will definitely be back next time I'm in Boston.
I truly can't point the finger of who and how it happened...
I made a reservation for 9 pm the day before on the app (OpenTable) confirmed reservation. We arrived around 8:40 pm with the understanding that we might have to wait until our reservation or just a bit more..(no big deal) it was a busy night for the restaurant. We checked in and they inform us that they are a bit tight with reservations and yes they can see mine, but it might take a bit more than 9 pm.
It was 5 different groups waiting at our arrival and a steady flow of guests keep arriving. So 9 pm arrived and we waited to be call and so was 9:15.. we keep seeing other couples and groups checking in and directed towards their tables at a normal 5 minutes wait or less..we keep waiting and expecting to be next not the next party arriving though the door.
It was 9:35 pm and we are the last standing couple after be waiting since 8:40 pm and see plenty of people marching to their tables when they offer us a option on the bar! We gladly declined and wonder how a 9 pm reservation was bypass by at least 15 different groups...
I only can assume that they had more respect for their own reservations that the ones coming from a second party.
Finally they profusely apologize and found a table at 9:40 let's say that the dinner was very rushed from there... since the servers look exhausted and closing time was comming fast. We ordered a bottle of wine and
Is the first time that I had to ask for bread or other things that you expect to be part of the setting of a dinner table. Just to add a note of disappointment. The reservation was made with a birthday requirement. We told the waitress what was the reason of been there since he politely ask after he introduced himself.
At the end of the dinner we asked for desert and the cake arrived without a candle or anything expect it those occasions. Well that was the "cherry of the cake"
Will I go back? Humm it was not my first time but it might be my last...
Thank you for letting us know about the issues you had on Saturday night. It seems like we missed the mark on your Birthday in a few different ways, and that is not how we want to celebrate such a special night. The food was impeccable as was the service.
Been way too long since we've been able to eat out inside a restaurant. We have always enjoyed Grill 23 and it was great as always. The restaurant was setup for social distancing and we felt comfortable eating inside. Service was impeccable and the food was so good. We had cocktails and great food - so glad we ventured out to Grill 23.

Overall a great dining experience
Food and Service were excellent. Our only disappointment was our table for 2 was in a hall-way area near the top of the stairs; I assume they needed to spread tables around for Covid compliance but we felt we were not at a 'normal table'. Otherwise a very nice dinner and excellent service.

Dinner with my daughter and her boyfriend.
I was in town visiting my niece, a special occasion for us. Dinner was stellar. They forgot to serve our appetizer which she was looking forward to but were apologetic and made up for it. We both had the salmon, shared two delicious sides. Coconut cake is perfect!

As always great food, amazing wine and great service.
Phenomenal filet cooked to perfection. No one prepares a charred steak with the correct internal temperature better than Grill 23. I could make a meal out of the delicious sides of mushrooms, carrots, broccoli. All distinct flavors. Our server Joel was amazing; attentive and knowledgeable.
Always great. Best steak house in Boston.

Great food as before. Loved the rib-eye!
The drink service was a little slow, the waiter explained that with things ramping back up with COVID getting more controlled it was difficult.
For our time he brought us fresh-backed cookies with our desert.

Waited a bit long for service, but it was worth the wait!
Everything from start to finish was superb! The 100 day aged ribeye, paired with a 2015 Burgess Cellars Napa Valley cabernet sauvignon exhibited a depth of flavors that was absolutely exquisite. The scallops, calamari and crab cakes were pleasantly paired with a 2019 Pascal Jolivet sauvignon blanc from the Loire Valley in France. Our server and wait staff were fantastic! I appreciate the attention the management extended with the kind greeting to ensure quality was up to expectations. Fantastic evening!
