   We came here for a graduation dinner and had a wonderful experience. We were seated in a small room upstairs, so the noise from downstairs did not affect us and we were able to enjoy the delicious food and company. The service was impeccable and we even received a free ice cream at the end with a chocolate congratulations on top!

   Great service, good food. It's a lovely fine dining restaurant. The shrimp cocktail was amazing. The steaks were delicious and perfectly done. The biggest baked potato! There is an extensive wine menu and fun mocktails too.

   It was our second time at grill and it was outstanding. Our server Bernardo was so helpful all around, especially when we were debating on which steaks and wines to select. Overall an incredible experience!! Thank you to the whole team!

   Exceptional food and service! Visited with a large group on Mother's Day and despite how busy the restaurant was, service was top notch. Our waitress, Olivia, was outstanding and management was very professional in ensuring our satisfaction. Worth the splurge!

   Beautiful, grand dining room and bar in the heart of the city. Start your weekend off with a great lunch and enjoy the city. We walked to the Boston Public Gardens (~5 min walk) after a lovely Mother’s Day Brunch.

   We had a great time with Paul, our server. But the food was just blah – two of us ordered the meatloaf on Mother’s Day. It was tasteless, as well as the tater tots. The steak and eggs, ordered by the third person was very good.

    Grill 23 has been doing it right since 1983, tucked inside Boston’s old Salada Tea Building like it owns the place—because, frankly, it does. No gimmicks. No TikTok nonsense. Just the kind of old school, wood-paneled class that reminds you why steakhouses ever mattered in the first place. We walked in and were met with quiet confidence. Coats taken. Umbrellas gone. A dining room that hums with polished brass, high ceilings, and staff who actually know what they’re doing. You can see into the kitchen, which I always respect—if you’re proud of the work, don’t hide it. We ordered the Steak Frites. An 8oz prime bavette that showed up cooked perfectly. Juicy, rested, flavorful. The fries? Crisp, golden, seasoned like someone in the back gave a damn. But the béarnaise… that sauce didn’t just complement—it seduced. Rich, velvety, tangy. I dragged every fry through it like I’d never eat again. Sides? We went with the sautéed mushrooms and the taleggio creamed spinach. Both delivered. Big portions. Big flavor. No weak links. The mushrooms were earthy with roasted garlic and the spinach was creamy but still balanced, pancetta crumbs adding just the right bite. Service was tight. Our server read the room, hit every mark, and had us out in time for a show without rushing us. Waters refilled before we could notice. Leftovers packed like it was an art form. Grill 23 doesn’t chase trends. It sets a standard. And I’ll be back—for that béarnaise if nothing else.
