It was a very good experience. Service was incredible. The water class was never empty. The food was great. I had the 100 day aged ribeye which lived up to its expectation. The salads and sides were great as well. It was a little loud in there probably because it was very busy and full. Overall great experience.
Valentine’s Day. 100 day ribeye was incredible! Calamari was ok. Wine list and sommelier was awesome! Sides were all good. Kosta Browne 1/2 bottle 2014 Russian River way over priced. Coconut cake was horrible, sorry. Service was spectacular.
Will definitely go back again.
What a wonderful dinner for Valentine’s Day. The evening could not have been more perfect!!!
We had Valentines Day dinner at Grill 23 and as usual we were not disappointed. This restaurant has been a favorite of ours for many years.
Amazing wine menu, really knowledgeable Somm and wait staff. Wonderful dining experience!
Lovely dinner with family! Will definitely be back!
Hugo the Manager was excellent. He had our table right on time. My wife misplaced her mobile phone and when we got home the app located the phone at the restaurant. Hugo, while very bizzzzzzzy still took the time to go around and found the mobile in the table cloth in the basement. EXCELLENT guy and credit to the restaurant!
The food and service was excellent.
Family dinner, food was awesome, restaurant was very busy , server communicated good timelines. 1 criticism was server on two occasions came to take order dinner & dessert while half the party was in the restroom. Maybe a little picky, but it was odd. Overall exceptional experience.
Great service and food. Busy Saturday night yet they were able to seat us early. Nice selection on menu. Would come back anytime.
Overall I had a positive experience. I had the signature New York steak, which was pretty good. I also shared some broccoli and mashed potatoes. My girlfriend and I agreed that everything could have used a bit less salt, but the food was still good.
We ordered wine, and the glasses were huge. Definitely value there.
I wish the desert menu was a bit more basic, like chocolate cake, but I’m sure people have favorites on there. I made a reservation on open table and put my birthday as the occasion. I didn’t mention birthday to the server or anyone during the dinner, but he still brought out some ice cream which was a nice touch.
Atmosphere was quite noisy, but wasn’t too bad. It was a bit hard to have a conversation. The chairs are designed to be sit back and relax style. This was great until I had to lean forward in my seat to eat my huge steak.
Overall I think some people could really enjoy this place. It isn’t my style, but I am glad to have experienced it.
We booked this reservation for my moms 65th birthday. I wrote in the comments to have a Titos and soda at the table for her, and that it was her birthday and that we wanted to make sure a dessert was sent to the table. They confirmed via email and called the day before as well - even confirmed the vodka choice was titos.
Neither of these things happened. Also, my moms dinner had to be sent back 3 times as the steak was not cooked right - 3 times. The managers did come out to apologize, but when dessert came they brought her the coconut cake she ordered but no candle. My dad asked nicely if they can maybe find a candle, as the confirmation on the reservation said they would bring out a birthday dessert with a candle. (We know they do hits and have celebrated birthdays here before). Good news, they brought an extra dessert with a candle on it.
Overall, fine experience, but just missed the mark on what could have been a really special night. Turning 65 was not a fun one for my mom, and she was nervous already to celebrate. When we told her where dinner was so was beyond excited because she fell in love with this restaurant the last time she was there. Just a small disappointment as we all expected a much better experience. Managers apologized to her, but just thinking through it all, for such an expensive place they should have never had to.
In a word, underwhelming. While the atmosphere and service was impressive, the menu offerings were uninspiring. The appetizer selection left something to be desired and while the steak was cooked to our liking, it did not make much of an impression. Our side of mushrooms was mediocre in taste - minimal shallot or herb presence and was presented warm rather than hot. Overall, it was forgettable.
Superb service and excellent meal!
Amazing experience the steak and sides were equally amazing. The only down side is that I ate so much.
We are from NY and come here to visit our children who are in college in Boston. This was our third time here. The first time was Amazing! The second time nearly as great. But this time we were pretty disappointed. I had the salmon from the menu which was just ordinary. My salmon was over cooked and it sat atop wilted baby spinach and some halved baby potatoes. Just plain and ordinary. There was a pistachio pesto on top of the salmon which was very cold. It was like a ball/lump and off-tasting. Very odd and unappealing. Also more black than green. This dish would have been better with a sauce. The drinks here are always great and the desserts are also worth the trip. Our staff was kind and informative, but a bit absent. I would think about other options before coming here again on our next trip back.
Best steak in Boston
Great meal! And wonderful service! ❤️❤️❤️
Food and service were great. Will be back!
Excellent. Sommelier was eager to help and made an excellent suggestion well. Fantastic meal and impressed our partners while providing a comfortable, delicious environment.
A great place for a special occasion. The food is outstanding, service is attentive and not intrusive.
Great classical steak and seafood house in a historical Boston space, definitely a must try.
Food and service were excellent. Ambiance was good.
I think I would prefer a smaller more intimate restaurant for such a slpurge. It was huge, several floors and rooms and though the waiter was attentive it just seemed impersonal. Also as 2 women I think we were seated in the worst section w the 20 yr old couples and next to a partition that kept encroaching making us move our table about 6" to stop from being jostled.
All food from start to finish was incredible as always. Props to Garrett for taking good care of us too.
Nice experience. The only complaints I have are that it was 10 min before anyone approached our table to get us drinks and the lighting was really bright.
As always , the best place in town to have steak. Vibrant room with good energy and filled with happy patrons. Ambiance of a great steakhouse.... dark wood, comfy chairs, soaring ceiling. Attentive staff . Amazing food. Steaks are top notch and they occasionally have a special cut of the night like a tomahawk ribeye or bone in fillet. Dry aged sirloin is always great . There are fewer and fewer steak houses in town that currently offer dry aged prime but this place never disappoints . Sides are solid ….still the best hashbrowns in town. Wine list is extensive and offers some high end but also affordable bottles with some great Italian selections . Dessert offers an amazing coconut cake and a blast from G23 past.. a grilled banana split . Now if they could offer longer dry aged cuts aged like 45 or 60 day... and some thick cut onion rings!!! ..I would be in heaven.
Best steak I've ever had in my life. Everything was good from the bread to the dessert. Next time I'm in Boston I will definitely visit again.
Two couples hitting the town for a Saturday night and had an awesome dinner
We had a fabulous experience at Grill 23 & Bar. The food and drink were amazing. The service was perfect and the ambiance was unbeatable. What a gorgeous restaurant. Highly recommend the aged steak and the potatoes gratin.
Taleggio creamed spinach was amazing! Steak was perfectly seasoned.
Service was slow but food was good.
Had a fantastic experience celebrating my sister's birthday. Early dinner at the bar, they went above & beyond to help us celebrate...kudos!
Not a restaurant if you want to have a conversation.
Out Server ( Tra ) was the best .
Steak was decent, but all sides were horrible. We sent one back then gave up on sending back the other two. Food is not at all like it used to be at Grill 23. Too bad.
Very noisy. Food ok.
The food is impeccable and the staff most accommodating.
We had the best steak dinner and lobster Mac n cheese ever.
Ambiance is elegant and sophisticated without being pretentious.
Once you are seated you feel the warmth and charm that surrounds.
We would go back again.
the décor was very nice and much more pleasing/welcoming to females than some of the other very heavy masculine steak restaurants. Service was outstanding, excellent waiter, food was cooked perfectly and delicious. got street parking right outside. A
Service very good, food was excellent and over all a nice place. We are going again.
