We booked Grill23 as a treat for our son’s first Parents Weekend. We had been over the summer and loved it, so thought it would be the perfect place to give him a beef “fix”. Again, Grill23 didn’t diaapppint. The waiters are personable and knowledgeable, and a couple of them even remembered us from our last visit. The food was amazing and decadent. Grill23 has secured itself as our “go-to” when we visit Boston and want to give our starving college student a treat!
The food and service were excellent. Though the noise level seemed very high, even for a Saturday night.
I have been here a few times now and the food was great per usual. My problem is we were sat in a small table with one side having a booth that runs continually and stretches 3-4 tables while the other side has separate chairs. I might as well have been in the persons sitting next to me conversation we were sitting so close to one another. When leaving my girlfriend almost knocked over the man to her rights glass of wine because the tables are so tight. I can deal with this type of table at a regularly priced restaurant but not somewhere that I am going to spend 300+ on dinner for 2. Also the seat was directly in front of the kitchen which was noisy and had constant foot traffic. Was definitely not my favorite experience here but I can not knock the food, its always great
very solicitous of late guests, terrific service with a smile
A little pricey for what I though was good food but not over the top wonderful. Service and atmosphere was excellent.
Everything about it was fabulous! The only thing that was lacking was great music. It felt like Frank Sinatra should have been playing when you entered the doors, but there was no music at all. Other than that-great service and fabulous food!
This place is huge and lacks intimacy. Steaks are average and on the dry side.
We had a great meal at Grill 23, as we always do. Our waiter was funny and kept things going at a good pace. Our food came quickly. The quality was exceptional. The only issue we ever have is that it's always so loud in the restaurant. It can make it difficult to carry on a conversation. The benefit is that it's so loud that no one else can hear you, and the tiered seating makes people-watching interesting, but it's definitely not the best place for a quiet date or conversation.
Awesome as always. Server was amazing.
My second trip to Grill 23 was every bit as good as the first. Incredible steaks only outdone by the exceptional service, friendly staff, and spacious dining area. The specialty cocktails are incredible. Making it more affordable, we were able to split the steak between us.
Enjoyed dinner here for my birthday. Service is excellent and the food is always amazing! Highly recommend this place especially if you love wine!! Their list is very extensive.
the food was great. The people next to use were really loud. The waiter was nice and the overall experience was great
The 100 day aged prime rib eye is the best steak one can get anywhere. Food, service and atmosphere always top notch. My favorite restaurant in one of my favorite cites (the Red Sox, Celtics, Patriots and Bruins nothwithstanding). *
Grill 23 never disappoints. Consistently great food and service!
Great steak and service, fine wine and food choice, excellent waiters
It was very good ribeye steak melted in your mouth.
Always a pleasure to eat here, we all had the beef, everyone's was cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend!
The salmon was cooked perfectly. The pesto complimented it very well. As always your kobe steak was amazing. The valet parking made visiting a pleasure.
Ambiance very nice, server has an attitude and food was disappointing
Spectacular. Food was perfect. Atmosphere was wonderful service was very good. We are dining at all fine dining restaurants and this has been a favorite so far. Will go back
Very nice location, great food and good service. Unfortunately much too noisy.
The steak is amazing, but the one side you HAVE TO ORDER is the truffle tater tots. It's mashed potato bites fried in truffle oil it's the best thing I've ever eaten.
My favorite steak house in Boston. Nice without being snooty.
Enormous portions.. amazing steaks... attentive servers
The food was very good. The service slowed down a bit after we were served, not terribly so, but enough that it was noticeable. Overall, we had a good experience and would definitely go back.
The sides are salty especially spinach & mushrooms.
Great meal on Sunday evening this week. Excellent wine list and sommelier service. Server and sommelier both worked together to pair an outstanding wine with the food. Highly recommend for special occasions.
Our filets were both overcooked, which was disappointing as the previous visit the steaks were phenomenal. Other than that, everything else we had was excellent.
I love Grill 23. My favorite steak house in Boston. Our food and the service was exceptional as well. Unfortunately, although we made the reservations for our anniversary they sat us in a boring back room that had two large tables of younger kids and another 2 tables with crying babies. When the manager came over we did tell him how disappointed we were with where they sat us. He took care of the whole bill, which was very kind, but the damage had been done. Our meal was delicious but our table really ruined the whole meal for us. Next time we will have to make sure we are happy with our seat.
Great food, good atmosphere, but TVs with sport and air con too cold!
Overall exceptional evening! Our server, Chris, was the BEST!!!
Great meal, ambience and attentive service. Quite pleased with everything. Highly recommend for any occasion.
Wonderful service, but the soup was cold and my chair was broken. Not what I expected given the ratings I saw online.
Best steak I have ever had! Tried it once before and it’s now permanently placed on my Boston to-do list.
Great food, nice atmosphere and our waiter made it extra special - love this place.
Any steak lover should try the ribeye at least once in their life.
This was an Anniversary Dinner before a show. Staff was extremely attentive and helpful. The new version of the calamari appetizer was delicious and a welcomed change. Sides, as well as the perfectly cooked steak and filet, met our expectations. Chocolate cake for desert is highly recommended and won't disappoint!
The steaks are always delicious- the sides always fall flat. They are either cold or bland. Skip the bread it’s stale 90% of our visits
We had a great experience at Grill 23. Our steaks were really great. The sides are large for two. The taters side were their signature and very good. We also had delicious corn and a giant baked potato. The ambiance was nice. The location is in an older building with lots of historic details. You probably want to dress business casual as requested, as the atmosphere, and service warrant it. Overall a great ending to a week long stay in boston.
Our waiter was Hector. He was lovely. Everyone was attentive. The food was delightful and delicious, well presented and perfectly cooked. I even caught our waiter catch another waiter to tell him to add a candle to the dessert for the table next to us just in time (for a birthday). It was a pleasure to be there from the minute we walked in until we left. We didn’t feel rushed, or pressure to order more food than we wanted either which can sometimes happen in more upscale restaurants.
5 stars. The only sad part was that they no longer served the bread pudding dessert from last year which was phenomenal.
Excellent as always. Started with a couple drinks at the bar. My wife is a fan of Moscow Mules which she said was excellent. We Went to our table and ordered Wedge salad and kale salads to start which were also excellent. Fine bottle of 2013 querciabella Chianti Classico. We ordered the 2014 and were served the 2013 which sommelier said was an additional year of aging and upgrade...I will take his word for it. I ordered the ribeye and my wife ordered the filet. Broccolinni side. Both were very tender and flavorful. Well cooked to our specifications. It was crowded Friday night but not too loud on the upstairs level. Seats are we spaced and we did not feel we were talking with the table next to ours. Service was spot on. Ordered the profiteroles with coffee ice cream and a couple espressos topped off with Sambuca to cap off our meal. Grill 23 is a nice splurge. Bring the big credit card!
