    Made a reservation weeks ago for a my grand daughter's 18th Birthday. Grill 23 was always good food, fun and lively. Something special in Boston for a young woman celebrating a big Birthday. When we arrived ... they showed us to a table in a room a 5 minute walk from the main dining room, down the very end of a hall, past the upstairs kitchen, like being in a big closet. We passed an available table near the upstairs bar, on our way. I asked to be moved and they told me that we would have to wait at least 1/2 for a table to open up downstairs. We had a limited time frame. In the meantime they sat the other table. Anyway... disaster!!! A waste of over $1,000. Off my list.

    Grill 23 has been one of our favorite restaurants to dine for years. The waitstaff are very good, the food is always delicious. Is very convenient in the center of Boston. Is a great place for all occasions. We were there to celebrate my nephew 20th birthday 🎂, everyone seems to enjoy it very much

    We had Thanksgiving dinner here. The food was excellent. The thanksgiving dinner special was delicious! The best Turkey I have ever had. The only complaint I had was the mashed potatoes were were not included in the meal. Also my son got the meatloaf dinner (which was excellent) but he does not like the sides it came with & we asked to substitute with tater tots. The waiter said no problem then brought us a huge side of Mac& cheese & charged us for it. Not a huge deal but would have liked to know that’s how they do it.

    Waygu was amazing. Our waiter Sonny was very helpful in explaining any questions of the menu and gave up great recommendations of favorites. We ended up with the spicy swordfish and 100 dry aged NY strip with 2 oz waygu appetizer just to experience it. Overall an amazing night.     I like to go for special occasions. My friend and I had a great experience. I had the salmon and he had the steak frites. The food was excellent. Chris is an exceptional server. We can see why he has been there for 16 years. The restaurant is the perfect place to go for special occasions!

    Super loud. Food wasn’t great. They forgot my soup. They mixed up our plates so our steak temps weren’t correct. They charged $4 for a coke and it was in a tiny glass (not even half a can). The baked potato had some fake cheese sauce on it and the tots were not great either. Don’t waste your time or money here. Go to Ruth’s Chris.

    My meat was undercooked, and it had to go back to the kitchen three different times before they got it correct by that time everybody else at my table was finished eating

    Service was excellent. Food was okay. Tables were sooooo close together it was hard to talk without including the people who were seated right next to you. I understand trying to get as many people in as possible but if the party next to me put his elbow up, he would’ve bumped into me.

    We were initially very excited to visit Grill 23 & Bar for my husband’s birthday. Unfortunately, the reviews that I read online didn’t match our overall dining experience. Even though we made a dinner reservation in advance, we still had to wait over 30 mins to be seated. The overall noise level in the restaurant was very high so it was very difficult to carry out conversations even in between the 4 of us. The quality of the food was also not the level that we expected. The tomahawk steak was under seasoned, but the sides were over seasoned so there was no winning at the end. They also ran out of the only dessert that my husband was excited about so we just ended up not ordering at all. Even though the service staff was very friendly and helpful, I wouldn’t say this was our favorite dining experience. The overall ambience of the restaurant is too loud, and there is nothing intimate about the space. Food was mediocre and sad to say that our an hour long drive into Boston was not worth it at the end.

    The porterhouse steak we ordered was rare to well done in parts. The wedge salad are extremely small portions. The food was okay for a steakhouse. Abe and Louies steakhouse is far superior. Noise level is very loud.
