As Charleston's premier steakhouse, and member of the Great Steak Houses of North America, our menu is one of the few in the country that features 100% USDA Prime Beef. Located at the luxurious Market Pavilion Hotel in the heart of historic Charleston, we offer a dining experience like no other. All of our beef selections, including the filet mignon, are hand-selected and wet-aged 42 -50 days to ensure tender texture and unsurpassed flavor.

At Grill 225 we place a great deal of emphasis on seafood harvested from both local and International waters. Using only premium ingredients such as local sustainable seafood as well as exclusive premium domestic and international offerings.

Private gatherings for rooftop cocktail receptions and events up to 275 guests.

Dress Code:
For Men, smart business attire. Jackets are requested, but not required. Flip flops, T-Shirts, non collar shirts and baseball caps are not permitted.

    Our server Greg, was great. He took time with us explaining everything and engaging with our grandson ( it was his 16th birthday) and his girlfriend. However, they must have had problems in the kitchen. It took forever to get our dinner. This should not happen at a restaurant with a 4.7 star rating. When we did get our dinner it was very good.

    Our server Jimmy made our night! He was pleasant, welcoming, and knowledgeable. Our steaks were cooked to perfection! It is a pricey meal but so nice for a special night.

    The otherwise excellent beef is rubbed with garlic to which many people are allergic. The restaurant did not offer to get me a plain filet. Did not offer complimentary dessert. Did not even say gee, sorry you’re allergic Nothing.

    A true 5 star… I had about the best steak “ribeye” that I ever had and have been traveling to great restaurants for years. All the sides were amazing. Great wine selection. Service was fantastic and right on. I would recommend this place anytime and will be back.

    Great meal and service as usual. We dine here every trip to Charleston. This place is one of our favorites when we come to Charleston! Jimmy our server was outstanding! This restaurant had it all great food, ambiance and service! We can’t wait to go back!

    Been here dozens of times. Food and service was great. The only massive issue I have is when I received my bill it was not itemized. I also knew about what I spent and it was 200 over that amount. I asked the server if tip was included and he said yes but failed to mention this. I felt like he intentionally did not bring an itemized receipt in an attempt to get another tip. Yes it says for parties over 5 tip of 20% is added but felt like he was being sneaky. Not impressed by this at all.

    We have been coming to Grill 225 every time we are in Charleston for the past 17 years. It’s always been a special place for us. This time it was different. The ambiance, service, and even the quality of the food was less than we expected. It used to feel like a step above and this time it was just another tourist spot. Customers in T shirts, shorts, and flip flops. Noisy rushed and crowded. Steaks that normally were amazing were tough. We left longing for the good old days.

    As people who dine out often and come from a food background we were looking forward to having dinner at Grill 225. However, we found the food, service and ambiance average and very expensive. I must say not as good as Hall’s Chophouse! Their food and service is superior! At least we have Grill 225 a try!

    Wonderful food, excellent service. But hands down the most expensive restaurant we’ve visited in Charleston. About 2x the cost of the Kingstide, Verns, Southbound, and The Establishment.

    Excellent dining experience. Jimmy was outstanding in his service. The only retraction was the overdone lobster tail. It was good, but not prepared on the level with the rest of our dinner.
