Miranda was fabulous. We took her recommendations for our order and we were not disappointed. Steaks were cooked to perfection.
Oustanding meal and service. Thanks Miranda.
This visit was disappointing.
The onion soup was superb.
The shrimp cocktail was superb.
The shrimp croissant was oversaturated with mayo.
The french fries were not piping hot.
The server was lackadaisical.
Expected much more for the money we spent for this special lunch.
Perhaps dinner would be better for steaks.
Meh! It wasn’t terrible, but was not exceptional either. I ordered the filet fromage, it was tasty but not cooke
Great food. Great service with John. Great atmosphere.
This place is hard to beat.
Very enjoyable good value on wine excellent octopus high end prime beef
This may be a minor thing. We were seated in a very high traffic area. I asked the hostess to be reseated and for an empty table in a corner. She immediately responded with "That table is reserved and they are in the building. I'm seating them next." No one ever sat at that table, or any of the adjacent ones.
Everything was perfect! And JB our server is the best.....
Wonderful birthday celebration with excellent service and great food. Loved the Coppola’s Director’s Cut Cabernet. Thanks for helping to make it a very lovely evening.
Excellent food and waiter John Paul served us well.
Highly recommend the Nitrotini and very accommodating to vegans
We love coming to Grill 225. Definitely one of our favorite Charleston restaurants. The experience is enhanced further by our waiter, Greg. We’ve been coming for years and Greg is the best.
Had the New York Strip. Cooked to perfection. My wife had the filet mignon which was also perfect. Service was excellent. Got a little loud when the bar filled up making the ambience drop for a romantic dinner. Would have like a little quieter experience.
Wonderful atmosphere. Delicious food.
Classic menu, food excellently prepared and presented. Friendly and unassuming service. Allowed us to take our time and savor each course without any hint of hurrying us.
It was my wife's birthday and the provided a complimentary glass of champagne to help us celebrate. This is a special restaurant for special occasions.
Great food. Great service. Lovely ambiance.
We celebrated my husband’s birthday and we were greeted with complimentary champagne! What a nice surprise! Our head server, Greg was fantastic and he also had a very nice assistant server. Our favorite part of our meal was the escargot and the chocolate, butterscotch dessert. We also shared the chopped Caesar salad and my husband enjoyed his filet mignon. We really liked how you didn’t feel like you were next to a table, because of the music and the high ceilings, Beautiful ambiance!
We’ve been to this restaurant many times over the years when we visit Charleston. It has been one of our favorites and we always saved a night for them. It is not remarkable anymore. Unfortunately, the menu is stale. The food is good, just not remarkable.
We had a stellar night here this week for my husbands birthday!
Our service was fantastic and we had one of those great booths they have so private and fun! (Thanks to Sara and Frank)
Food was perfect - you can’t really ask for a better place to dine in Charleston for a classic meal and romantic atmosphere!
Very nice... staff and service amazing!
John Humphries was our server for the evening and was outstanding. He explained all menu and specials for the evening in a friendly and professional manner. The food (flounder and veal chop) was equally outstanding and worth the price. We are "foodies" and were very impressed with the entire restaurant experience, but especially with the food and service. The bar was equally responsive to a request for a chocolate martini, which arrived with "225" in chocolate pieces floating on top!!!
This is a fabulous restaurant which is unusual as it is located inside a hotel. However, the hotel was equally impressive. The Market Pavilion Hotel and 225 Grill in Charleston are 5-star and a must visit. We cannot wait to return.
Beautiful place with excellent service but it was the most bland and boring food I’ve ever had! The baked French onion soup was just average, the oysters were about the same. The filet had absolutely no flavor and we ordered two sides with mushrooms and Brussels sprouts. Even salt and pepper didn’t help the mushrooms so they went uneaten. The best thing on our table were the Brussels sprouts.
The French onion soup was amazing. We both enjoyed the filet...cooked to perfection. The tomatoes topped with spinach and cheese were the perfect addition.
We had a horseshoe shaped booth for four and it was very nice and private and very quiet. The menu is very extensive as is the the wine list. The service is impeccable as well. You won’t go wrong choosing Grill 23 for that special night.
Went for my 30th birthday. Steak was excellent, service was wonderful, and we enjoyed every second we were there.
For a such an amazing meal, it was way too loud in there. But otherwise outstanding!!
Excellent PROMPT service and the food is AMAZING! Always!
The best steak in Charleston! We visit Grill 225 every time we are in Charleston.
Our server John was excellent! He was very knowledgeable about the menu. The oysters Rockefeller and brussel sprouts were delectable and steak was top notch. We had drinks before dinner at Rooftop bar. View was amazing.
Always an excellent place for a great meal when in Charleston, whether for business or pleasure. We have had small groups and large groups there and the service and food are always top notch.
I used to frequent this restaurant regularly when I lived in Charleston and it was my favorite restaurant - this time, not the same. The blue crab chowder was do thick and cold it was inedible. The filet, while good, was as good as any other restaurant. The restaurant was empty and the hostess was actually the valet and did not properly check me in with Open Table. Ben was pleadant as a waiter but it was just an average meal with higher than average pricing. A big disappointment
Excellent service and ambience.
Our waiter Greg was so welcoming and knowledgeable! We never felt rushed. Just a perfect dining experience.
Outstanding—- will return!
Absolutely wonderful experience at Grill 225! From the atmosphere to the service and especially the food! It was a perfect night! Thank you Grill 225!
Fantastic service by server Benjamin and team. Food was prepared perfectly. Thank you for recognizing our special occasion on our first night of our first visit to Charleston. Fantastic start to our anniversary & birthday celebration! Service above and beyond expectations!
I loved this place and our food.
JB is the man!
Best dinner dining experience in Charleston hands down. B+ wine list which I would have given an A- if they actually had the bottle I wanted in the first place. My only critique about the list is that it did not have a lot of half-bottle options, and with a large amount of excellent seafood options on their menu, I would have expected better half bottle champagne and white wine selections. I like my steak with a very thick char on the outside and just about sashimi on the inside. Very hard to find a place even locally that will do that. They hit it right on the head dead-solid perfect. And it was delicious. Crab cake was delicious. Tuna tower was delicious. My wife's lobster was delicious. We ordered the creamed spinach..... Only thing I can say about this one is that it just did not seem like a good night for the creamed spinach. Spinach definitely tasted like it was made from canned spinach, so this might be a side to avoid. Next time back in Charleston, we will be headed back here.
Amazing! Great Se
