The food was fabulous and the drinks were divine!
Dined with you multiple times. Our server was distracted
The quality and preparation of the steak: excellent, as it should be for the price.
Drinks: The Nitrotini is fun for the fun fare but tastes like a typical well-made martini.
Upstairs Rooftop Bar: not to be missed. Excellent waitstaff as well. The view is fantastic.
We would absolutely return.
Went to dinner at Grill 225 for my husband’s birthday and it did not disappoint. We started with the BLT Salad and the candied walnuts made it a stand out salad. He had the filet and loved the seasoning on it. I had the flounder and it was cooked perfectly and the sauce was creamy and light. We got the creamed corn and mushrooms as sides, and I would highly recommend both.
Absolutely hands down the best steak. Flounder is excellent also. The waiters new the menu very well and could answer all questions. Recommended wine pairings was spot on. You have to get a nitrotini. Will be going back.
Great meal. I was disappointed that they didn’t ask about the birthday we celebrated. My wife was 70!
First time this has happened
Wonderful experience dining with family!
Great service, hospitality and food.
Excellent food and service. We will definitely return.
Loved everything about this place! The crab cakes were the best I've ever had.
On vacation for the Labor Day weekend and picked this place the day of and couldn’t have been happier. Outstanding on all levels! Highly recommend!
Simply amazing meal!
Fabulous restaurant. Excellent food and service. The atmosphere was great also.
This place was amazing and the food was to die for, I would definitely go back again!
Amazing service and amazing food!
Excellent service. Top notch. Ambiance was very bizarre and quiet. Freezing cold. Food was mediocre. The restaurant was empty and the food looked and tasted like it was under a heat lamp. Everything was tough and overcooked. Not what I was expecting. Will try again, maybe it was an off night.
Food and service was great as always. Ambiance is standard steak house. A bit boring but food is good.
Extremely expensive which I don't mind if the food is worth it. Our server was unfriendly and unsympathetic when we had to send our food back for being under cooked. French onion soup had no flavor and the shrimp and grits had way too much creme.
Wonderful experience as always.
Great food, expensive. Open table says “smart casual” this is a fairly formal restaurant. The servers wear suit and tie. Worth going to if you want a nice dinner
Perfect place for date night!!!!
Best meal in Charleston, SC IMO. Every time you’re there, you feel like family and the atmosphere, drinks, and food are always cooked/prepared to perfection. Amazing evening.
High marks for the blue crab chowder, cornbread muffin, shrimp and grits, and grilled tomatoes with spinach and havarti. The flounder was dry and bland. Service was exceptional. Beautiful restaurant. Looking forward to dining here again.
Food was very good, but our waitperson was fantastic. A guy like that makes the whole meal taste better!
My husband and I recently spent a few days in Charleston after a week in Hilton Head. I’m so glad we had dinner there. . Our server was John. He made several recommendations which were delicious. We both order nitrotinis from the bar—chocolate martini and strawberry daiquiri——and they were amazing. My husband had shrimp cocktail. He said it was one of the best he had ever had. The entrees we ordered were the ribeye and the crab cakes. We had the hash browns as our side. Everything was fantastic. The peach cobbler for dessert topped off a wonderful evening. John’s service was impeccable. I definitely recommend dining here
Wonderful except that they tried to pass off a New York strip as a ribeye. Otherwise great!
Food was fabulous as always and our waiter made great recommendations on non alcoholic drinks at my request!
It has been our third time at Grill 225!!! Food is incredible and Jimmy has always taken such good care of us!!!! As long as Jimmy is there you will most likely see us again !!!!
Found the tomahawk to have to much salt sprinkled on top. The sweet potato mash seemed to by quite bland. The apps were pretty good and the truffle chips were good as well. The beniget was definitely over cooked because they were very crunchy. I’m used to having them soft and fluffy.
This place is does not do anything to really stand apart from any other steakhouse.
It is tourist season in Charleston, so very difficult to get reservations anywhere. We made a 5:30 at Grill 225 but they weren’t open when we arrived so had a cocktail at the bar. The bartender couldn’t have been more pleasant. When we went to be seated, we were the only couple and we surprised them, as they were having computer issues.
The assistant waiter was pleasant, but our main waiter a bit cold. We ordered the special beef carpaccio which seemed over powered with olive and the steak was not all chopped., so consistency was not good.
I ordered a ribeye medium rare, and was told they cook to the rare side, so was a bit skeptical. My husband ordered the flounder and we shared the tomato with spinach. Bread seemed a bit burnt and dry. My steak was done to perfection, though lacked something. It was deeply charred, but could have used a little butter or au jus. The flounder was quite tasty. The best was the tomato with spinach.
All in all, it was okay, but not a place I would return except to enjoy the beautiful hotel and bar.
You have to have the classic martini! Steak melted in your mouth, just delicious!
The food was passable, but expensive. We requested "a great table" on Open Table, then again from the host at check in. He placed us in the very back corner, behind booths, which basically present as six foot walls to the table whew we sat, obstructing any view whatsoever. This was done while there were several tables available in the main area, where we might have felt ;ole we were at a good restaurant.
What a great experience - phenomenal food and Jimmy was outstanding as our waiter- highly recommend- my favorite restaurant in Charleston
Upscale fine dining experience and what was to be expected out of a high end steakhouse. Excellent service and attentiveness, great steaks and a nice environment but somewhat on the formal side which again is in line with steakhouses of a similar ilk. Great way to celebrate a special occasion.
Awesome Service and great food! The ambiance was what the Doctor ordered !
Food was all very good, well cooked and presented. Waitstaff was outstanding.
I came here with my husband for his birthday dinner and it was one of the best restaurants we have ever been to! The 3 lb classic lobster, filet mignon and creme brûlée were out of this world!
It was very good food and GREAT service. Just to overpriced for the quality a quantity of food.
