   was sat waiting to around to be seated. No one approached us to assist. Table was dirty despite booking. Service was poor, lack of energy and overall delay on most things asked for. Sunday dinner was average, Frozen potatoes, cold veg, smash more like mash. Rock hard cauliflower cheese. Beef like leather. belly pork no fat rendered at all. Choice of options for Sunday dinner poor, no fish option. Overall disappointing won’t be visiting again.

   We brought my elderly mum for her first meal out since she had a stroke a year ago. She really enjoyed the food and the experience. The staff gave her a small plate and reduced size meal so she wasn't overfaced. It was very busy so there was a bit of a delay, but then again we didn't have a starter. Our burgers were lovely too.

    Sunday lunch not very good. Roast chicken breast was a chicken breast portion on the bone with leg attached. Possibly bought in bulk from suppliers. Beef was very chewey also looks like bulk buy with gravy in bags. Very poor service. Meals arrived and stood on the table getting cold while we waited for knives and forks and side dishes to arrive. Very disappointed.

    They’d ran out of steak pie which was quite disappointing seeing as one of us wanted that option, so my partner decided to have mushroom bourgignon pie with mashed potato & peas instead but when it arrived it came with cups & not mash as stated. Also there’s not much option for vegetarians never mind vegans. Sorry to say we won’ t be returning

    First time visiting here and will def be back. The food was amazing. The homemade pie was beautiful as was the creamy mash. My family also enjoyed their dishes as well, scampi and burger. Service started a little iffy - waitress wasn’t very friendly. But the lady who brought our food/bill was lovely and so nice.

    Bit disappointed with the visit we had. Food was not bad but not worth the price. Supposed to be home cooked food, yet the roast potatoes were frozen. Cold pigs in blankets

    We book a table in the restaurant area but had to leave as it is a dog friendly pub and even though there was a sign on the door to the restaurant area saying please don't bring your dogs through the restaurant people still did. I don't have a problem with dog friendly pubs but there should be a area to eat that is dog free as my wife is allergic to some dogs.

    Hardly anything left on the standard menu, no specials available. 2 rib eye steaks of poor quality, burgers were dry and tasteless and the mushroom pie tasted of perfume. Expensive for what you are served. Very disappointed as it was a birthday meal. We would not recommend this eatery.

    Food was good, but the hospitality was quite poor. It was Christmas week, & no cracker or Xmas serviette, even has it was booked like a Christmas Get together. Felt pushed away from the other Christmas Parties, all because we booked off the normal menu.

    Immediately disappointed as website led me to book online, where I chose the festive menu, but upon being seated I was told the online system that asked me which menu I wanted didn’t then inform them of my choice and so the two of us wouldn’t be having out festive meal as we’d planned. We were seated in a room with only three other people seated at another table, but unfortunately that small group found it entertaining to be extremely loud and keep telling each other they really needed to keep it down. This was silly noises and screams rather than a happy group simply enjoying their evening, the volume of which made it hard for us to hear each other speak. Unfortunately no request to respect other diners was made by any of the staff. I ordered half a lager, but was brought a pint. We both ordered fish and chips and were both disappointed. Most of the plate was taken up with two pots of peas and tartar sauce making for a very small portion of chips, and the fish batter was hard. Still hungry, I ordered apple and rhubarb crumble. The dish and fruit were so ridiculously hot the whole thing was sizzling, the ‘crumble’ was mostly oats (not mentioned on the menu) and with it came the tiniest jug of custard I have ever seen. We shook our heads, each paid £20 odd of our hard earned money and decided we would not be returning.

    1st time at the Griffins Head and the staff were great, really attentive and the food was fab - managed to wrangle all 10 of us and the dog into a cozy nook (blue room) and it was brilliant. would definitely go again

    The servers were lovely, but they had had an issue with supplier deliveries which meant almost half the menu was unavailable, so we had to change our orders from what we planned Quite loud too (for a Tuesday evening) and some choice language from other customers! The food we did get was good quality and very tasty and did not have to wait too long Hoping to go back when the full menu is back on

    Arrived early for our 1pm booking, table already taken and wasn't vacated, even by time of our booking. Had 4 people squashed in on a table for 2. Staff seemed more concerned about making sure regulars were happy

    Visited on recommendation for sunday lunch however we won't be returning. We both ordered Beef which was chewy & grizzly and 2 very small pieces of meat. Yorkshire puddings were stone cold. Carrots were inedible so hard, you couldn't even cut them. Practically raw. No serving spoon with the vegetables. Very overpriced and not nice at all Had far better Sunday roasts and a lot cheaper. Ladies toilets were disgusting too. Sink blocked with toilet roll.

    It was our first visit to The Griffin Head, booking on line was easy and no issues at all. We chose to sit in the Restaurant, and most tables were already occupied. Our drink order was taken promptly by friendly staff. The menu is varied and had tastes to suit all, however I would normally choose a salad or jacket potato with a meal, & all dishes only served with fries or creamy mash. My first choice of lamb wasn't available, so I opted for gammon, which was delicious. My husband had a full rack of ribs, which was equally nice. The mood was relaxed and comfortable. We each had a desert, which were hot and tasty. I think we would visit again, as the food was to a high standard
