I was not impressed by the steak. Had potential. It lacked a special flavor
Great service. Great ambience. But the food was a 3 star with 5 star pricing if ya know what I mean
Wonderful and romantic evening with my Girlfriend.
Do not get the Ribeye!! Came out warm and chewy full of tendons. Grade C beef at best. I’ve made much better steaks on my grill. I’m a meat lover and I always go for the rib eye or filet. My wife loved the filet. Overall an average experience. I should’ve sent my steak back.
Greystone Prime Steakhouse Sara and the entire Greystone staff are all extremely passionate about preserving Greystones uniqueness. The service was impeccable. It is no surprise why Greystone has been considered one of the best restaurants in San Diego for decades. I highly recommend Greystone Prime Steakhouse & Seafood for anyone that wants an unforgettable dining experience.
Loved the service and and atmosphere, plus the food was impeccable. The Japanese waygu was the most delicious steak I have ever had in my life, we will be back soon! Thank you!
Great experience overall; appreciated the effort made by the staff under challenging conditions during COVID-19 situation.
Food wasn’t great, especially for this price point. Service was good though.
Excellent and tasty food. Outstanding service. Highly recommend.
Food was good. Service, not so much.
Waiter made too many mistakes. Didn’t bring us some plates that we ordered. Said he didn’t hear when I asked for a different beer. Charged us for wine that we didn’t get.
Great Food but the table they put was wobbly they tried to fix it twice no luck asked to move to another table but no luck and this was our 50th anniversary Not the greatest experience
Our server Alex was attentive, the food was amazing- we really enjoyed our experience.
Amazing steak!! Tried the Japanese Wagyu for the first time and it melted like butter!
Came here for a birthday party and had a wonderful experience
Went to Greystone last night, had a wonderful meal!!!! We have been in the past and have always loved the place but now when we heart they went thru a big re-model we had to go back. First off the place looks awesome, the new bar and lounge is very contemporary, trendy and with a cool lightning.
Food was as always fantastic there but this time we tried all seafood instead of the regular steaks. Wow, seabass was outstanding as well Paired with a nice wine recommended by the server it made our night perfect. Sara the manager is awesome
Go to Greystone, you wont be disappointed!
Arrived 15 minutes before our reservation given the location, waited another 30 minutes to be seated and an hour and half for food only for them to bring the very expensive steak out with lobster (I have an allergy) they proceeded to take the lobster off and just give me a new plate. Then the steak was rare inside and we asked for medium well. We asked to speak with the manager it took her 25 min to come over she offered a gift card left and never came back, they charged us $120 for a Cesar salad, potato purée, corn and asparagus. Flew across the country and stayed awake for over 24 hours to eat here and was beyond disappointed. Oh and let me mention that we were celebrating my husbands 45th birthday. We were told all their staff was in a car accident and that’s why they were having issues, yet people all around us were served.
Did not feel like an upscale steakhouse. Very informal and casual. Service was not attentive and food took unusually long. The ambiance and food quality did not match the price.
We had a reservation for 7:45, we left the Restsurant about 10:15pm. We had a salad, shrimp cocktail, a filet and sea bass. Nothing crazy and out of the ordinary. Food was good, but ridiculously slow service. Finished a bottle of wine before dinner even came. Had high hopes, but maybe if service were better I might come back. I get during COVID, I expect a slowdown, but this was tough to sit through.
Food, service and atmosphere are Amazing! However, it is very hot and it as AC but it was uncomfortably hot.
They are not ready post COVID-19. Steaks well overcooked yet cold, and side dishes lacked any taste. And the waiter is moving too fast to remember what I asked for. Very disappointing considering the cost and type of restaurant this is. I mean it was awful and other guests were upset too, many tables was left with the food still sitting on table because the quality has gone down. I was wondering why, and after I got my food I knew why. I will be contacting the corporate customer relations to share my experience.
We were visiting San Diego for the weekend and wanted to go to a nice dinner! Grey stone delivered! Great wait staff and amazing food!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Will definitely go back!
The waiter was not very helpful to say the least. He sat a couple right next to us with no social distancing because it was easier for him to tend to both tables that way. We ended up asking to be moved which seemed to irritate him quite a bit. His attitude was poor for the duration of our dinner which ended up costing $500 for my wife and I. For $500 I want the best experience possible. Will not be going back.
Several of us ordered Bone in Ribeye, which was overpriced based on their competition. The meat was tough and flavorless. Waiter was curt and tried to clear our plates several times while finishing up our meals without asking. Felt rushed even though only 2 tables were full. Really disappointing experience
I booked a large party and the service was great! But I was let down by the food. I was so disappointed, it took over an hour to arrive to our tables and every single one of my guests had mediocre food taste and presentation. I came here back in Feb with my husband and it was fantastic but this past friday was saddening to me. I hope they can bring life back into this place and their menu. As customer feedback goes, please make the clam chowder a staple in your menu.
What I can say is, is that our waiter Alex and the hostess who took my calls to rearrange some things were fantastic and made it the best for us as possible.
The Crab Cake appetizer is one of the best we have ever had. Our Pork Chop and Sea Bass entrees were tasty and prepared well. Sitting in the street to dine is strange, but we understand it is not the restaurants fault and we are trying to tolerate the ridiculous restrictions of this scamdemic. Our waiter(s) were disappointing. They lost interest in us as soon as we did not order alcoholic drinks and then it was so obvious in his lame attempt to up sell us, which turned us off from ordering more sides and desserts and drinks. To drive from Orange County to celebrate our anniversary and be treated like this made us ask why we made the trip and effort. We were not even acknowledged that is was our anniversary.
You can never go wrong with Greystone!
The service is friendly and on point- they are following the Covid protocols which gave us coMfort. The outdoor dining was fabulous on a summer night!
The food is always fit for our foodie crowd, oysters, the Prime beef and love the shrimp diablo!
The best steakhouse in San Diego. Wagyu beef is to die for- excellent service. Sara the manager was on top of everything
Food was horrible for the same price could’ve gone to Fleming’s.
Yes, I know it’s Covid, but this was just horrible! We didn’t get seated until over half an hour after our reserved time. Waiter did not come by for 15 minutes and when he did, we quickly ordered because we were told we had to leave at 11:00pm (mind you, we didn’t get seated until 10:20 - reservation was at 9:45).
Waiter said that he made a mistake to wait on us and that he worked at the “Butcher” restaurant right next door and that they shared the outside table space.
Waited another 15 minutes for the correct waiter to come. We once again quickly placed our order Bcoz we were told we had to leave at 11:00. Restaurant was out of so many food items.
They brought us the wrong appetizer so we had to wait for the correct one.
Medium well steak with crab came rare and crab lump was discolored and gross. We couldn’t even send it back bcoz waiter disappeared. He came back half an hour later to tell us they ran out of bread and his shift was over. They started tearing down the shields and tables at 10:55 while we were eating. A homeless person with a shopping cart and half his pants falling off was lingering near us until the waiter pushed his cart across the street.
They said no to dessert and when we finally got the manager to complain he just said they’re overwhelmed and took the lobster Mac & cheese off the bill. I asked him to take the gross crab off and he said well, it’s the same price as the Mac n cheese. He should not have charged for the crab at all and as a courtesy he should have taken off the Mac n cheese at least! The steak was bloody! At this point, the homeless guy was back and the entire street smelled like pot and I just wanted to leave so I didn’t argue. I left zero tip and I never ever do that. I always leave minimum 20% bcoz I know how hard waiters work. I know it’s a tough time right now, but you shouldn’t take a reservation if you can’t deliver proper service, especially at an upscale restaurant with upscale prices. Very disappointed.
Food was wonderful ... but expensive
Plan on $100+ per person
The food was sub par for the price they charge. The service was slow and they are super crazy there with Covid restrictions and tables in the street and passer by. Totally over crowded on a Saturday night. It was a special occasion we were celebrating and I was totally disappointed.
The food here was delicious! Prices are more than average but you can easily see where the money goes to. Great quality food cooked well to perfection. We had the pleasure to have been served by Alex! The guy was on top of it and made us feel at home. Great worker, great guy. Would definitely go back!
One of the worst dining experiences of my life. Sent back the steak for being overcooked. They returned the same cut of steak even more cooked. Then overcooked the follow up as well. Despite this they still tried to charge me for the steak.
They block off 5th from traffic to allow restaurants to set up al fresco dining on the streets. The tables are spaced properly and there are plastic dividers when spacing isn’t possible. It was great to see a lot of people eating out at a safe distance. The wait staff was courteous and attentive. Drinks and food both came out promptly. Unfortunately, the kitchen may have had an off night. My $200 A5 Wagyu steak came out slightly passed medium instead of medium rare and the sea bass was also a little rubbery. I’m putting an asterisk on this review and will give them another try in the future. It was still an enjoyable evening dining out for a change.
It was nice
Condescending waiter; overpriced steak and sides were good- not great.
Waiter and service was great. Steaks had no flavor and meat was tough. Ordered lobster with my steak and it was under cooked. Won’t be coming back.
The best dining experience since COVID. We loved everything. One pound burger and dry aged beefs are amazing.
The food is overpriced and the fish dish containing lobster, crab legs, oysters etc. was awful. Poor presentation and even poor quality taste. Never will go there again.
