    The crab cakes could have been better. They were "Lump Crab Cakes" but there were no lumps of crab (all the crab was the texture of tuna from a can) and they could have been cooked a little longer. Also, the simple salad that accompanied the crab cakes was so simple it wasn't even dressed!

    The only reason I gave this restaurant a 2 star was because the service was ok and the vibe was good. However, the food was absolutely horrible! We had 5 oh us and wanted an amazing steakhouse meal expecting about $1000. Our tab was $1200 something, which was fine if we had decent fort but absolutely EVERYTHING we ordered was horrendous! Appetizers we got the calamari and Shishito peppers, the Shishito peppers were soggy and the calamari was flavorless and extremely chewy, we also got a dozen oysters that had absolutely no meat on them and was gas station quality. We ordered cream of spinach and the sautéed mushrooms, they were both horrible quality, and tasted like they came out of a can, and I am 90% sure the mushrooms did. The cream spinach was water down goop with no flavor. We also ordered to bake potatoes, and both of them were completely cold. We ordered three New York strips, and two ribeyes, out of all five steaks. Only one of the steaks were cooked to temperature requested, both ribeyes were horrible quality and completely flavorless, the New York strips definitely had better flavor, but still nothing better than you would get from a Chili’s or an outback steakhouse. This $1200 meal wasn’t even some thing you could send back to the kitchen to have them make better, it was the quality of all the food. It was absolutely horrible and not even close to what you expect at an average steakhouse let alone this high end steakhouse. Very disappointed and will never go back.

    Delicious food but lacking good service. Expected a higher level of service that affected our celebration. There was a lack of attention on the dinning experience expected from Greystone. Maybe they need more staff.

    The restaurant has an interesting vibe to it very modern two levels. we sat upstairs, so it was a bit quieter, and could still look out at everything. A small nachos we got the strip which was cooked a perfection, and also got the scallops which we were not as big a fan of.

    The server we spent the most time with wasn’t very organized or pleasant. It was hard to hear our conversations and we had to talk really loud in order to hear each other. It wasn’t a great place to have a business dinner

    This was a total waste of money and horrible experience. We took clients there for. Nice dinner and were just disappointed with the management and staff. The server was a total disaster and was had a terrible attitude. The food was overcharged and they try to get you for waters.

    Great food and even better service. We were down there to celebrate a friends bday and they accommodated our party exceptionally well. The noise level was a little high but it is part of the Gaslamp district so we understood why.

    We started off with the crab cake appetizer, and it was ok, but not great. The tartare was my appetizer, and it was a bit over seasoned. I like to actually get to taste the beef, but it was enjoyable. I also had the Greystone Salad, which was fabulous! My guests had the Zesty Herb chicken, which was tasty, and the Pork Porterhouse, which I did not try but they LOVED! For desserts, we had the Yuzu cheesecake (ok, but nothing to order again. It was not especially flavorful), the Mixed Berry Sorbet (again, ok but...) and the Pineapple Upside down, which was the winner of the desserts but even that was only good, not great. So for the price, we were all a bit disappointed. The staff were great though, no complaints there!!

    Very disappointed in the restaurant, especially noting the cost. We ordered salads which did not arrive, when some of the food arrived, it was cold. The wagu was very tasty but, at best warm. Same with the filet. They forgot the lobster and when it did arrive it was overcooked and cold. The potato was cold and had to be sent back, when it was returned it was warmer but not by much. Desert was fine. I have eaten at many high end steak houses and restaurants over the years, I have to say that this was the worst. I recomend that you avoid based upon the experience.

     we were specifically going for the steak. Everything was just OK. We think the order was mixed up with another table because the steak was overdone. The fish was also drier than it should have been. We spent close to $400 for two people and it wasn’t even close to worth that, very disappointing

    First time here, we will be back! Hostess was very nice and waiters very attentive. Food was delicious and we indulged in the chocolate lava cake. The complimentary calamari was appreciated and the portion was so big it could have been the whole dinner!

    We started with the shellfish platter: oysters, lobster, crab, and shrimp. Perfect. Then Michael recommended the heirloom tomato salad: beautiful presentation. He also recommended the tomahawk steak with caramelized onions. We were celebrating our 7th anniversary. My wife is pregnant so Michael brought over a glass of sparkling wine (for me) and Sprite in a Champagne glass for my wife. The Champagne glasses had the words Happy Annual engraved on the glass. Michael said he personally purchased those for his guests: classy touch. He brought over a limoncello cheesecake with a sparkler to celebrate the anniversary and the pregnancy. Michael went out of his way to make our evening special. He was courteous and cheerful and funny. We will be back (if we can ever get out of the house again in the next year or two). 🙂

    Disappointed, very overpriced for subpar food. The $60 filet could have been from Applebee’s. $18-20 sides were bad. Caesar was not edible it was so bad. Too many places on Fifth in Gaslamp to waste your money here, wish I hadn’t.

    I was expecting a lot more. First we had to sit outside since there weren’t any tables inside. However drinks were great and calamari was the best I’ve ever had. We ordered the porterhouse, it was fatty and not the best grade of meat. The potato and mushroom parfait was great!! We skipped dessert after the main course. We’ve been to a couple of steak places in SD and this one ranked near the bottom. Additionally it was more expensive.

    The waiter who had just returned from a time away was excellent and tried to be very accommodating. The wedge salad was ho-hum. My salmon had to be returned as it was overdone from my request. My husband’s fillet mignon was bland. No coffee available. Overpriced and I would not recommend.

    We had a party of 12 with a reservation for 8pm. We arrived early and still was not seated until 8:30pm. We placed our orders and then about an hour later was told that they did not have baked potatoes. They replaced the potatoes with another potato dish without asking us. We then asked to remove the items from the bill and that was not done. Needless to say we were not happy with the overall dinner experience.

    We were first time visitors and had a mediocre experience. The food was fine (not great), but most lacking was service. We were there to celebrate and never asked if we were celebrating anything. Service was slow, lacked any personal care. We left disappointed as this was a splurge for my family.

    For a first timer, I surely wasn’t impressed. I don’t think I have to go back. I have had better experiences at much nicer steak houses. The server definitely had too many tables, and the 24k old fashioned need to be rename. It was an average drink. We had to ask for bread for the table, and everyone else was getting it within 5 mins of sitting down.

    Stinky oysters, bad martinis and overcooked steak. Oh my! First thing’s first, the wait staff were kind and accommodating. Bar tender didn’t know how to make a gin martini, Oysters were on the turn & had to be sent back and our rib eye was obviously over cooked. At these prices surely we weren’t being fussy. Manager kindly offered us another steak but at this point we just wanted to be outta there. $40 on the menu comped. A note to Greystone: Folks who know good food do travel to San Diego and we see you!

    Showed up for a 5pm reservation. The hostess told us we could step inside to be seated. Walked to the stairs and waited another 5 minutes. Another couple walks past us and seats themselves. So we followed suit, sat down another 10 minutes go by and still no waiter or anything. We went to STK just down the road it was Phenomenal!!

    First thing we noticed was there is no dress code, anyone can walk in, flip flops, shorts and tank top. Second was the decore was extremely dirty for having prices as high as they do. And only 1 bathroom per gender for a large dinning area, having to wait in line like you’re at a night club was not the business. The bread was so so, the butter they have is not good at all! Didn’t even eat it after the first taste, to sweet imo but each their own. Salad was had too much dressing, it downed out the lettuce; The lobster Mac n cheese was super greasy, cheese had no flavor, and I couldn’t find any lobster in it, besides the little piece they top it with for “looks” the only thing worth getting is the steak! Flavor was super good! Cooked perfectly, no sauce needed. I like to try new places, and this wasn’t a favorite. And we won’t be returning. Sad cause they had good reviews. Service was good though.

    Service was good, but food was sub par for the price. Meat was a bit tough & didn’t have as much flavor. I also had the garlic potatoes that tasted just okay & tasted like regular mashed potatoes. I also ordered the cream of spinach that had way too much cream & cheese that it was in clumps. I have definitely been to other steakhouses that was much better for the same price or a bit less.

    The Wagyu on the Michelin Tasting menu was amazing !! The service is always on point and I recommend this restaurant for business events or a special occasion! I go with out a needed occasion because I live the staff and the food - Best experience in the Gaslamp Quarter.
