From the moment I greeted the hostess to the time we left our experience was amazing! We had recently arrived into town from Arizona, a quick 6 hour drive, her to celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary. When we arrived and I greeted the hostess she asked our seating preference and upon learning we were in town to celebrate our anniversary she brought us inside and asked us to please wait one moment while she prepared our table. A table on the second floor over looking the lower dining room was set just for us with rose petals, and it was just perfect. Our attendant was amazing and so personable. The entire staff was professional yet personable and went above and beyond to make out time absolutely special. The food was beyond delicious and worth every penny. We loved the entire experience. The restaurant itself is gorgeous with art incorporated into the walls and the structure itself. Whimsical design and elegant touches with classic moments are all incorporated together in the perfect balance. A definite must go for a wonderful experience!
Great service, great food. Would definitely visit again.
not comfortable - felt squashed into a corner. too noisy. good ok not terrific,
Wagyu and service were excellent. However, our ribeye was a bit overcooked for "medium rare." That being said, I would return to this play. The atmosphere is worthwhile.
I arrived a few minutes late due to parking issues. They were not prepared for me, so had to go to the bar while they set up a table outdoors. Service was slow and the meal was pricey. I ordered the filet mignon with peppercorn sauces and garlic potatoes. I found the peppercorn and potatoes tasteless and the filet, for the price was nothing above average. So for $95 I had a meal that I could have had at any chain steak restaurant for half the price. I would definitely not recommend this place.
Sara was great she tried to make up for the slow service by offering us apps but then the dinner came out so that got canceled, so instead she brought us a glass of champagne, which was a great gesture
sitting outside was fun but the street is sloped so the chairs sit at angle, kind of uncomforable
I make sure I eat there whenever I am in San Diego. I've been doing it for 20 years. You can always get a great steak there, but their house specialties deserve to be highlighted. It's in the Gaslamp which is always busy/noisy on weekends. I can recommend it for both personal and business meals.
Very busy place. Very loud. Bartender was rude The male one.
Let me start by saying I like the vibe of this place. The service was average. I got the filet medium rare, but it came out closer to raw. The brussel sprouts was delicious. It seem like the steak and lobster were lacking flavor. Highly doubt we would come here again. Another upside is you are downtown and have lots of options after dinner.
The table we sat at was a converted booth that they put two two-seat tables in. Very cramped. Our waiter was very attentive at first, but we didn’t see him again we got our food. We needed napkins and salt, but he never came back until he dropped off the check. The food is good but overpriced.
Beautiful restaurant and amazing food. Only wish there were a lil more option for someone with shellfish allergies
We had a great dinner! And our waitress was awesome (blonde hair)! Thank you for making our last meal in San Diego a great one!
Great service and food. A little bit pricy. Make a reservation in advance.
Great food and service
Very disappointed on the food. I've never experienced such a tough filet minot. The oysters were the smallest I've ever seen, and the lobster mac and cheese was pretty much only cheese and not even that tasty of cheese.
The ambiance was ok. Our server was decent.
Very over priced. Very disappointed. Will not be back. Even something as simple as a very wobbly table outside? When you pay $60 for q steak that should not be an issue
I had a lovely time, thank you so much.
Looking forward to the next time.
Service was fantastic!! Ambiance is always great but post COVID frenzy in high gear this time. Very busy, noisy Saturday night!
We shared appetizers as dinner. Brussels Sprouts are amazing!! Calamari - not so much - Heavily breaded and very chewy/tough. Steak Tartar was ample for 6ppl but only 4 crostini provided.
Birthday dinner ! Our server was amazing and the food was great! We started off with wine and calamari. We had rib eye nd shrimp and scallops for our main dish., together with a salad, and a side of mushrooms and mashed potatoes. There was no more room for dessert!
There was a strong smell of marijuana permeating the entire upstairs area.
The restaurant’s menu did not match the full menu on their website or Open Table’s link.
They were out of a lot of ingredients, including non-exotic items like the snap peas that are supposed to be in one of the fish dishes.
The server was excellent, and I could tell he was disappointed that several of the items we went specifically there to order (I scour menus in advance of booking) were not available and were not going to be available for the foreseeable future.
Very disappointing experience. We will not return.
Everything about the experience was fabulous, amazing food and service provided Brian our waiter!
Celebrating our anniversary while in San Diego
Portion sizes are small. The shrimp and scallop dish included 2 shrimp and 2 scallops for almost $60.
The petite filet mignon - please don’t order that. That was the weirdest cut of filet I’ve had in over 2O years. In my experience, the filet is always a firm, but tender, cut. This had a very strange, stringy like texture, sorta like pot roast meat. Don’t order it.
Ambiance was great, Service was tremendous but food was definitely not worth it! Salty Mac and Lobster, overcooked Salmon, dry lamb shank and Brussel sprouts.
The food was pricey the cocktails were great the overall quality of the was very good we had a great server I would highly recommend the restaurant
Had a few issues with Items not complete or cold. The server had them fixed quickly and we enjoyed our meal.
Great food. We seat inside and it feel too cluttered.
Restaurant was short staffed and running behind on reservations BUT they did a phenomenal job to accommodate our party which included two pups (the waitress provided ice waters for them). We were seated outside and it was extremely noisy because the bar next door was playing music, so it was not to the fault of Greystone’s. My family and I enjoyed our meal and brought out a delicious dessert with sparkler for our birthday guest. The food was delicious, drinks were great, we will definitely be back.
Great atmosphere, loud and busy environment. Food was very good and timely served. Staff was knowledgeable of menu.
Number one the bread that was given to us was hard as a rock horrible.
It was our anniversary there was so much going on that it was impossible to enjoy.
They were moving tables around, up and down the stairs.
The food was amazing. Went for our one year anniversary and it couldn’t of been better. Great recommendations and I was so happy!
It was a nice experience all around. The food was delicious and the service was great. Just a little disappointed that we didn’t get an anniversary dessert like last year. That really made our night.
The food was not very tasty. Roasted brussel sprouts were still hard at the center, shrimp cocktail was average, Mac and cheese uninteresting….basically all food was uninteresting. Mind you, we didn’t order steak because we were in a hurry to get to the baseball game. The wine was excellent. Sound was bad because of loud music from neighboring restaurant. Prices were high.
The advertise they have “one of the best happy hours in San Diego”, however this is misleading. I assumed you could sit anywhere in the bar area (like most restaurants) to be able to order from the happy hour menu, but we were told by the server, we had to sit at the bar. There are only about eight seats at the bar and they don’t allow anyone under 21 to sit there so our family of five left. Not family friendly at all.
Rob was fantastic! He took great care of us and the food was amazing!
Impeccable service and food prepared to perfection.
I was pretty disappointed. At $150 per plate, I would expect the food and service to at least beat out a chain restaurant. Underseasoned steaks, cold broccolini, a meat & cheese tray with "Wild Meats" in the name...yet, it was simply farm-raised pork, and "just ok" service made this one of the few high end steak houses that simply did not live up to expectations.
I would eat here again if it were $100 for dinner for two...but not for $300. Spend your money at Del Friscos. Better service, better food, and a better view.
Beautiful restaurant and great service but the food was not good. This is suppose to be “one of the best steakhouses” but our New York steak was chewy. The spinach was so dark as if it’s been sitting all day. Sautéing fresh spinach isn’t hard. The side of mushrooms were very dry.
24k old fashioned was ok. And oysters were mediocre. They gave me one small Tabasco sauce.
Lovely birthday meal for both of the boys. Enjoy this place all the time when we come.
Wasn’t expecting live music 2 tables away from where we were trying to dine and have conversations. We were there to say goodbye to our sons before he left on deployment and we could t even hear ourselves talking
