The lamb shank, crab cake, lobster mac & cheese, smoked Manhattan... every dish and beverage is amazing!
There was a bug floating in my melted butter. Then I found a long hair on my plate. They took it back and re-did my order but the other people with me had pretty much finished their dinner. I had the filet which I ordered medium. My husband ordered his filet medium well and butterflied. His was medium.... mine was almost well done and butterflied. The taste was good. But the lobster I got was maybe big enough for 2 bites. They didn't offer to not charge me and brought us champagne and dessert.. which was nice but they didn't even ask what we would like. Just brought what they wanted to.
I would not go back.
The servers and manager were very personable. The three women behind the bar were much to preoccupied with changing the TV channel to stop for a drink order. After careful consideration of the many restaurants in the area we chose this one because of it's clearly marked gf and df (gluten free and dairy free) items. We let our server know that three people in our party had allergies. We chose our courses only later to he told "that the chef uses only clarified butter, so we would be okay". You cannot advertise and pretend to know what you're doing when it comes to people's allergies, when it is likely they will be sick for days afterwards. Good intentions cannot replace knowledge and proper training.
Absolutely one of the worst experiences I've had in a restaurant in a long time.Food came out cold took forever before someone came by to check. the general manager came and said the reason the food was cold was due to the air vent overhead. The interesting thing about the air vent overhead was there's a plastic cover directing the are completely away from the tables when she realized that she then blamed it on the fact that the oven that kept it warm might be malfunctioning.
Fantastic place with great beef and game menu....great food, many unique options including Elk and Antelope and excellent steak options. Wine list is stupendous, and Nema a fantastic beverage director.
We were there to celebrate my husband's birthday and unfortunately his steak was under cooked. They took it back to cook it to the proper temp but then it was overcooked. Since the rest of us were all done eating, he didn't want to send it back and wait any longer. No fun eating alone. His was the only steak not cooked properly but it was also the most expensive on the menu. Kind of disappointing.
Hadn’t been to Greystones in about 5 years and everything was exactly as I remembered from the last time we visited and the time before... Excellent menu, everything prepared perfectly and amazing service. A must try for foodies!

The food was amazing - absolutely loved everything we ordered. The Chilean Sea Bass was exquisite and their baked potatoes are HUGE. Definitely will go back for a nice meal. Thank you for everything.
This is a great establishment despite the negative reviews! We first arrived 30 minutes early for our reservation and were welcomed by a friendly greeter who said we could be seated right away if we wished, but we wanted to check out the bar first. The bar manager Rob was great!!!! Very friendly and knowledgable, and makes great drinks. Once we arrived at our table with a great overlooking view, the experience only got better. Our server was prompt and professional, and I LOVED seeing the teamwork in action–– it was a well oiled machine! Every encounter was pleasant, and the management goes out of their way to make you feel special. Our bison and lamb were phenomenal!!! Thank you so much.
Greystone is a fabulous restaurant with hip decor, lovely ambiance and excellent food. Gabrielle was my waiter and knew the menu inside and out as well as the wine list. He made 2 excellent recommendations that paired beautifully with my filet. He was the ultimate professional and has impeccable timing. I'll be returning soon. Lovely.
The service was top notch but the food was way to expensive for the quality. I had the oysters and they came out looking like someone tour them up shucking them. Then I had the prime rib eye. It came with all the best part (the outer most tender marbled part) removed. I had a side of mushrooms which was very good. My wife had the truffle fries. She said they tasted like they were not cooked in truffle oil but had truffle oil poured on them after. She had the filet and said it was nothing special. We shared a desert which was tiny and just okay. The shocker came when we got the bill (including two cocktails and 2 glasses of average wine) and it was $278. So with a tip for great service it came to about $330.

Great experience! We came in around 8pm and the place was still buzzing with life. We had the Tuna tartar and raw oysters to start and they were both so fresh! Our waiter was really knowledgeable and helped guide us through our meal. We both had steaks for our entrees, I had the tomahawk steak and my business partner had the Japanese waygu, both which were cooked to a beautiful med rare. The wine was great too. Overall it was a very worthwhile experience from start to finish. I would reccomend this restaurant for any sort of professional setting.
There are better choices for a good steak dinner. While it was better than most mid-level steakhouses, it's comparable restaurants are better, in my opinion.

Greystone is truly one of the best dining experiences in San Diego. I enjoy their amazing food and staff... top notch, personable, professional and pleasant. I always recommend Greystone to people for dining.
I will never go to this restaurant again. I took my husband there for his 30th birthday because he loves wagyu. We were seated basically in the kitchen. The area next to our table served as a spot for wait staff to duck into if the hallway got too crowded. The sound from the kitchen was deafening. We were asked when we sat down if we would like cocktails before wine. We asked just for wine and 40 minutes later, and 3 separate viewings of the wine menu we finally had a sip of wine. The first time we were told what we ordered didn't come in a half bottle, then after pointing to the half bottle line item on the menu, apparently that wine was 86'd (the bar waitress suggested maragaritas instead...), then finally we ordered a suggested bottle only to hear that too was out. This was a Saturday night at 7 pm. The couple next to us had similar issues with their cocktails. We saw our waitress a total of 5 times the whole meal. Other wait staff tried to jump in several times because it was clear we were waiting a long time (I am thankful that they were willing to help). The food was fine but we ended up spending considerable money on a meal that was completely ruined by terrible service and ambiance. Any given member of the wait staff's butt was 3 feet from my face during 70% of the meal because they kept ducking into the area next to our table. This review only covers the very basics of what went wrong that night.
The service was great! I would not go back and pay that much for a mediocre steak.
I was disappointed at the level of attention and service from the waiter. He seemed disinterested in providing good service to our table even though he seemed energetic and attentive with other guests/tables. He forgot to bring small items several times, took a lot of time to check up on the table and was not much help. I considered not tipping the guy which I almost never do.
So disappointed, I liked this place and brought some friends from out of state to try it out. Not doing it again.

Cloying, frenetic service. Hostess declined to seat us at our reserved time despite many tables being free, and instead pushed us to the bar first for drinks. Food was fine, but ridiculously overpriced given the ambience, service, offering. Sides are a joke, both in quantity and presentation—not sufficient to be shared “for the table”; more of a side dish for one or two. Came home to find someone else’s leftovers in our to-go bag. The restaurant doesn’t answer their phone; when they do, the responses are curt and you’re cut off. Note corkage fee is $35/bottle. Treated a full-priced gift certificate as if it was a discounted coupon. Superior alternative dining options abound. Will never return.

Over-rated and over-priced, poor services, presentations are good, food not fresh, busy and seemed popular, but I will not return.
Don’t let the looks fool you. We’ve been by this place a million times and although I knew it was a prime restaurant, we always thought it was a small place. Well, wait until you get inside. Ample area, two floors, just a great place. The service and food were fantastic, drinks were spot on and we greatly enjoyed our experience. Will do again
Food is okay but the servers is what you would expect from an Applebee’s. We were there for Valentine’s Day and while I understand it’s busy and of course understand some delays , I did not expect to have to wait 15min for someone to come to our table. No one even offered us water or a menu while we waited... I don’t usually leave reviews but considering the price I expected better...
The outback steak house had better steak and there not that good use to be excellent I guess they put the food that they want to get rid of on Valentine’s Day and the ceaser salad was like a fast food one

Tell the waiters to turn down the high pressure sales. I don’t need the waiter over my shoulder every 10 min asking to open another $200 bottle of wine. Read the room a little better - everyones glass is full, and we are done eating - I think we are good.
My wife and I were there before and loved it . This time the food was average and the cost ridiculous We shared a salad and lobster lettuce wraps (could not find the lobster) . We each had one drink and we both had steak and shared 2 sides (spinach ,baked potatoe) and bread pudding for desert . 320.00 with tip . NEVER AGAIN. We sat upstairs and the noise level was so loud we had to scream to hear each other .
A very good experience for a steak dinner, very good food and excellent service.
Food was not worth the price. Decor was dated. Staff was nice but overbearing. This is really one of the most expensive restaurants I’ve been to in San Diego and after giving it a second chance I will not be returning.
Always an outstanding experience at Greystone! I only get to San Diego once or twice a year I make a point of coming here.
Celebrated daughters birthday. Had a great time. Everyone was helpful and great service. We will visit again.
