The meal and service was just outstanding. Never have we been so carried away by a meal. Great service
I flew in from Houston to celebrate one of my dearest friend’s college graduation. She has been wanting to dine at Grey Sweater for a while and this was the perfect option! Chef Black and his staff did an amazing job giving us a food experience like none other. They even provide me with craftsman mock tails because I don’t consume alcohol. Chef Black not only give amazing meals but he and his staff created a warm and friendly environment with each guest throughout the night. He even had a champagne toast with my friend and the end of the night in celebration of her accomplishment. I will definitely dine here again. Thank you so much Chef Black and the entire Grey Sweater Staff!
The food, service, and atmosphere were all top notch. It was one of the best meals in I have had. The courses progressed perfectly and the servers and bartenders were on point with drinks and overall attentiveness. It is pricey but worth it for a special occasion or nice night out.
Absolutely outstanding! Every time we visit!
This was our fourth time at Grey Sweater and it didn’t disappoint! It is always a fabulous experience. The dishes are beautifully presented and delicious. Chef Black and his staff are all professionals and everyone works as a team to ensure all guests have an amazing time. We can’t get enough of this place!
What a wonderful experience. I have eaten at many fine dining restaurants across the nation, and this little gem tops them all. Highly recommended. Chef Black really knows how to provide a unique and scrumptious meal. I will definitely be returning!!!
This is the best restaurant I believe I've ever been to. The chef is amazing. The supporting team is top-notch! We brought my mother and father-in-law and my husband 2 siblings for inlaws 61st wedding anniversary! Grey Sweater did not disappoint! Can't wait to go back!
We were seated right in front of the main door where all the guest walk in and also next to a small bar where the wait staff is constantly back and forth. We asked to be moved to another table and the were told they had to check with their supervisor. Tip: don’t tell us you need to ask your supervisor, just go find out what you can do to move is to another table. Also there was no social distancing whatsoever. The waiter dropped the lid to our “spring water” on the floor and then twisted back into the bottle after pouring us a drink. That was the start of my experience. The service was good up to the 3rd dish and the pacing of the dishes (out of a 7 course dinner). Once the restaurant became busy, the service became almost nonexistent. At one point we waited almost 45 min for our next dish. Then when I asked if we could get our ticket, that took another 30 minutes. The bad service completely ruined the experience for us. Which is sad because the food was phenomenal. But when I’m paying $350 plus for a dinner I expect a professional service.
Great! Food was subtle and delicious. We will be back
Wow - what an incredible concept Chef Black has brought to Oklahoma City! We sat at the counter for a girlfriends birthday, which I highly recommend because you get to watch the staff in action. The variety of dishes, the presentation, the taste...absolutely incredible and I would 10/10 recommend the 5-course seating. I had to give 3 stars though because we were told we needed to do a $100 wine pairing for their anniversary weekend celebration, which was fine because we were absolutely going to order wine. We thought, why not try 5 new wines?! However, we received 5 2oz pours for the $100. While they were nice wines, it was not even enough to taste before, during and after the dish and the pours were inconsistent across our group. $250 dinner - food was less than 40% of that...and that was by far the best part! We’ll be back - but be sure you ask questions when they call you, it’s not a “pairing,” it’s a “tasting” and definitely not worth the $100 price tag.
Eat there for my wife’s birthday. First time but I would rank it as one of my top two if not my top restaurants in OKC for its food. Everything g was excellent
Superior dining. Best eating in Oklahoma.
We were a party of 5 and none of us drink alcohol. We've been to NoneSuch (sp?) and really enjoyed the meal, and how they paired the meals with non-alcoholic drinks. This place does not offer any non-alcoholic drinks. We had water, which was OK, but would be a higher start rating if they had non-alcoholic drinks to pair with the food. Also, comparing to NS, we were all still pretty hungry after we left GS. The portion are small of course, but the 7 course meal we opted for left all of us still hungry. The music was loud, and the young lady serving our food was very nice, but she was soft spoken, combined with the loud music, her mask, my old ears, I couldn't hear a dang thing that girl said all night. Finally, the duck was unanimously disliked by the whole table. For a check over $700 for dinner we expected a little more.
Grey Sweater is a delight for your senses. Everything is amazing. The food is the rich and memorable. The service is impeccable. Sit at the counter and watch the action unfold in the kitchen. One of the best meals I have ever had.
Best meal we have ever had. Loved the experience!
Exceptional food quality and presentation. Bartender bashing Trump and pushing Biden/BLM was unprofessional.
We'll spend our republican money elsewhere next time..
Highly recommend! The best in OKC!
Amazing place. Awesome food!
Grey Sweater is among a small group of the best restaurants in our state. Just a fantastic experience all around.
It was a wonderful experience, can't wait to go back.
Outstanding experience. Would recommend it to anyone and worth every penny!
Exceptional! Never disappointed
If you want an out of Oklahoma experience with food, here is the place. The staff is exceptional, the food it out of this world and such a different take that there is no explanation for it, you have to go to try it for yourself. Each course builds on the other and the mystery until explained leads to new discoveries of how food can taste. The chef's take on certain iconic foods such as the ice cream cone was exciting! For the first time eating lobster, it was delicious! The duck was by far the favorite with the crispy skin and tenderness of the meat! Thank you Chef Black for a wonderful and remarkable dining experience. You and your staff help to make our night out celebrating our anniversary and my birthday memorable.
Chef Black is just fantastic. What he creates is certainly a rewarding experience. Atmosphere is what would be expected for a private dining experience. The food was super.
The service is a tough call at this point in time and really not part of any deficiency on the Grey Sweater. It is just tough for people to share their excitement for the presentation while wearing a mask.
Please keep up the good work!
Delicious but ridiculously overpriced. We knew we were getting an expensive meal, we were ok with that and looking forward to it. but over $600 for 4 people is way too much. It was good, but not THAT good.
Amazing in every possible way! We will be back soon!
Ordered 10 course meal. Great food and fantastic staff.
Food was absolutely incredible! The atmosphere and the experience were amazing! Chef took time to stop and chat with us. Staff was great! Loved it all!!
Our experience was excellent on all counts. Ross and Tom at the bar made drinks with thoughtful intent whether it was something simple or more involved. There is a lot of effort that they put into new drink ideas and they do a great job describing what they’re doing, and how they came up with it. We got to sit at the tasting bar which was nice because we could watch Chef Black and his team create the dishes. Every single dish was a work of art for the eyes, nose, and mouth. Never disappointed, always anticipating the next surprise, wines at the silver pairing price were all enjoyable and tied well to the plates. Every element, ingredient, method, technique, etc., was well executed throughout every course. My wife and I have experienced top tier restaurants and tasting rooms in Texas, DC, NYC, Paris, Germany and were truly blown away by this experience in OKC. We can’t wait to try their sister restaurant, Black Walnut, and we can’t wait to go back to the Grey Sweater. For comparison, we tried Nonesuch and left feeling the experience was lacking which made us not excited about the money we spent for it. With Grey Sweater, it is everything we want for an experience like this and for the money invested in an evening out.
One of the best meals of my life.
Beyond, beyond good!
We were celebrating our 37th anniversary. This was our third visit to the gray sweater. It was outstanding again. Chef Black and his team are just amazing! This is a must try. If you haven't gone do yourself a favor and enjoy this beautiful experience. Thank you for a wonderful anniversary evening!
Second time in a week and we are going again this week! Its the Best treat!
The gray sweater experience was definitely wonderful and quite the journey. The food was all so unique and delicious. We loved meeting the chef, having Daniel as our waiter, Ross as our bar tender and Taven as our sommelier. What a unique, fancy but relaxed food journey. Prepare to spend $$$, but worth it for a one time thing. If you want a very fun dinner experience, this is your place. ITS definitely worth writing home about :)
Sit at the bar! Trust me.
This was one of the BEST vegetarian meals we have ever had! It’s an amazing treat for us in Oklahoma to have this incredible restaurant. We travel all over the world and are big foodies. This experience and food my friends, was in the top 5 in the world. Can’t say enough good about it. Try it. You’ll be happy you did.
Sooo good. Loved the experience. Delicious dishes, god descriptions, a nicely paced meal. The drinks were great - happy to give the bartender a theme and let him take the wheel; totally delivered.
Gray Sweater is by far the best dining experience we have ever had! The staff is highly knowledgeable about all of the dishes, ingredients and preparation. The 10 courses were carefully planned and eat one was a work of art! We chose the silver wine pairing which was amazing as well. It was a definite splurge but well worth the money! We were there nearly 3 hours! You must go and see Chef Black and his team!
Best restaurant by far in OKC! So impressed by the food, the wine pairings and the knowledgeable staff! Cannot recommend highly enough!!
Five year wedding anniversary: Simply put...amazing. From start to finish the cuisine, service, ambiance, people was magnificent. I advise you to see for yourself. You will not be disappointed
If you are looking for the most unique dining experience in OKC, Grey Sweater is hands down the top spot. Chef Andrew and the entire GS staff provide superior service and interaction and makes it feel like a family atmosphere. We did the 7 course option, however we will be doing the 10 course option the next time. This restaurant deserves a Michelin rating for certain
Everything was wonderful. The servers were professional and thoughtful, the food was amazing. We will be going back soon!
