About
Terrific restaurant with excellent food and lovely service. I highly recommend it.
The best service, food, ambiance! Will always go back to eat here every time u can get to New York! Cannot say enough good things!!
Service was impeccable and food delicious! We keep going back.
I booked this place for my birthday. I wanted a nice steak place that wasn’t a midtown over the top tourista trap. And this place delivered! I felt like I was back home in a European restaurant without the pretentiousness.
The service was just excellent. They never asked us “are you still working on that?”(which I hate). We never felt rushed.
The wine recommendation, superb. The steaks are perfect. Sides were all delicious. The shrimp cocktail was excellent.
The dining room upstairs is comfortable and spacious, you can have a conversation without yelling at each other to hear.
They made us feel special, feel very welcomed from the moment we arrived. After dinner they allowed us to have a coffee in the private dining room up another floor by the fire place which was so lovely. They even brought us a complimentary dessert with a candle and sang to us :-) They treated us so well it made our night!
I will recommend this place to everyone who wants a steak in nyc and go back when I am in town again.
Came here for my anniversary. Worst service I’ve ever had at a restaurant, let alone an upscale steakhouse. Drinks we ordered when we sat down came well after the appetizers, waiters came by only when food was being delivered, waters were refilled once in a two hour meal, waiters never checked on how the food was, asked to order more drinks but the waiter never came, and then the waiter publicly raised his voice at my girlfriend when we brought it up with him. Food was decent. Never coming back to this restaurant.
the waiter was very friendly and attentive but a french fries were to salty and overfried.
File mignon was OK but the burgers were not tasty .
Went there for a birthday celebration and here is our review of the evening
Arrived at 5:10 for a 5pm reservation. Ordered quickly as we had a show. Took 40 min for appetizers to arrive. Wine ordered. Waiter forgot. Had to ask again. Steak overdone. Service non existent.
Had to get up and ask for the check so we would not miss our show. Why take a 5pm reservation if you are not open to serve. Horrible.
Service was awful, kitchen was so slow and waitstaff apathetic and downright rude at one point. Steaks overcooked. This was on a Friday night with a half-full restaurant. They were understaffed. Bet they’re closed in a year.
Absolute clown show of a service team
We had our Holiday party at GSH this week and the service and food was OUTSTANDING!!
The steaks were perfectly prepared, scallops flavorful and succulent and the service attentive and colorful.
I highly recommend GSH.

The food, the service, the atmosphere.... it was all top class. The prices however did not reflect that. We had a great meal for a great price. The wine list is a really nice one too! Get the bacon as it’s more of a steak then a slice. We split the monster tomahawk ribeye. It was 🔥🔥🔥!!!
Best steakhouse in the village!
What a terrific steakhouse! Great service, Giancarlo, the manager, is a charming professional, and the food is top-notch: the thickest bacon I’ve ever had, cooked perfectly, great wedge salad, and a glorious porterhouse. Great night.
Fine steakhouse
We were fooled by the empty bar at the street level, but once we got to the second floor it was crowded, the food was outstanding, our meat was perfectly medium cooked, and the chef included a couple of
bones with marrow to go with the Porterhouse for two, which had lots of flavor, nicely presented, and the price was very reasonable for such good quality
Sat at the bar this time. The food was excellent as usual and the service was outstanding. Can’t wait to go back.
Great experience at this restaurant - beautiful restaurant with a very attentive staff - great selection of wines. My group has tomahawk steak and lobster - everything was delicious
The service was so incredibly bad. They forgot our order.
Despite making a reservation and additionally calling the restaurant the day before (to confirm the booking and to request a table in the dining area (2nd floor) not the bar area (1st floor)), we still had to wait an hour beyond our reservation time before our table was ready. They initially said it would be 10 mins until our table was ready. As the time went on, they didn't offer any updates to when our table would be ready so I had to ask a couple of times.
They gave us complementary drinks as compensation but with a babysitter to pay for and not wanting to get completely drunk, this wasn't really any good for us. We'd much rather they were honest from the beginning and said they'd over booked and we could have gone somewhere else instead, rather than mislead us to think our table would be ready very soon.
When we did eventually get seated, as I sat down they came over to sweep away broken glass by my feet!
Food was good, the steak didn't disappoint, but the whole experience put us in a bad mood and we didn't really enjoy the meal we'd so much looked forward to for our 20th anniversary.
Needless to say, we will not be going back.
Celebrated our anniversary at Greenwich Steakhouse. The service was excellent from start to finish. The waiters were well versed on the menu and specials and made the amazing recommendation of a Lamb Ragu with homage Fettuccini as well as the Porterhouse for 2 cooked to perfection. Hands down one of the best steakhouses I’ve been to.
The steak was awesome but there was no one in the restaurant , which was very strange for a Saturday night. The music and art on the wall on the second floor was pretty depressing. If they could step up their ambiance game this place would be awesome.
I had a great time. Salvador was amazing and the food was delicious.
The tomahawk is amazing and the service is superb. The wine list is impressive. Although pricy, it is definitely recommended for a special occasion.
Amazing best in nyc especially cajun steak
It was very cold on the second floor. We kept asking to turn off the AC or make it warmer and we were ignored. Ruined our meal.
It is a beautiful restaurant. The service and food was excellent! Had shishito peppers and steak.
Outstanding night out! I’ve been to many traditional NY steakhouses over the years and strongly endorse Greenwich Steakhouse among the best in NY. The steak was very impressive. My party of 4 shared a large rib eye and a bone in sirloin. Both were cooked perfectly with great flavor and just the right amount of char to make each bite savory.
The service was very attentive and our host was a real gentleman. We sat at an outdoor table under an awning and it started to rain during our meal. We didn’t get wet but shifted the table a bit to avoid the showers. . The host actually brought over a complimentary bottle of wine for our troubles. A very nice unexpected touch. Appetizers and desserts were also fantastic.
Looking forward to going back soon.
I absolutely love this place. The food is excellent, and they have a great selection of wines. The staff is very attentive and friendly.
Amazing food and service!
The ambiance and service were wonderful. Steak was delicious, sides were average. A pleasant evening but expensive.
Home run. Food great and service is outstanding. Recently changed menu which adds options. You can’t go wrong
Outstanding experience, from top-level food and drink to warm, attentive service. The steak and veal were superb, the wine and dessert excellent. First time here, and won’t be the last. An instant new favorite in Manhattan, and also a great location near good bars with live music for a fun evening. Highest recommendation!
Please make sure
To order the tomahawk ribeye as well as the Tuna tartar.
Both are the best in the city.
Asparagus was perfect. Garlic mashed potatoes could use more garlic. I didn’t know that New Yorkers cooked their steaks in butter.
Great experience, so glad to have found this place. Super crowded so if you want a table you have to make reservation ahead. I ended up sitting in the bar, as the wait for the table was long. However, they have a full service bar and the bartender was friendly. Food is excellent, so is the staff. Benny, the manager is one of the best host I have seen. He really attends to guests and makes sure you have a great experience.
What an amazing experience! My girlfriend introduced me to this restaurant and I was very impressed. We started with he french onion soup and the tuna tartare - both delicious and great portion sizes. We then shared the 48 oz porterhouse which we had medium rare. I can safely say this was the best steak that I’ve had in the city. We got creamed spinach, hash brown and the onion rings as sides and they were all delicious too. I really cannot find fault with anything we had. We finished off with the chocolate lava cake - great way to finish the meal. We had a bottle of Brunello di Montalcino that was recommended by the maitre d - fantastic pairing with everything we had. Full bodied and rich - exactly like all of the food!
This steakhouse is extremely generous and delicious! I was introduced to this steakhouse and became addicted to it. I've been to a lot of steakhouses in NYC but this one hits the nail on the head. Staff attention to detail is excellent--they really care for your stay. Wine menu is great as well! Needless to say, I have been a frequent customer and will continue to be. Plus, the staff and manager remind me by name and face! Highly recommended!
service was adequate
dessert came out fast so they placed the lava cake in the freezer and brought it out later
it was freezing lava cake
they must think we are morons
Was here two years ago when it first opened and thought it was fabulous. Returned just last week and was sorely disappointed by the horrible service (we waited so long for the bill we could have walked out and don't even think anyone would have noticed) and the food was subpar. There is a lack of bathrooms as well which then brought on rudeness by a wait staff when I went upstairs and was asked "are you coming from the first or second floor? You know you can go down to the first floor". The steak was over salted and the short rib ragu was chewy and not at all tender. My friends and I will never return and there are so many other better steakhouses in this city.
For a restaurant billed as a steakhouse, the filet we were served on the restaurant week menu was sub-standard. Not a filet at all.
Service was rushed.
Pretty restaurant; however, it would be hard to convince me to come back with so many other outstanding steakhouses in NYC.
