The mac and cheese is a must have. And please try the deviled eggs, delicious.
The food is excellent, but the establishment is way too small. Parking is not good and the wait is often in excess of 2 hours.
Great place to go with a friend. I wouldn't go with a group unless you are the first in line.
Food was absolutely amazing. Staff just seems understaffed. Didn’t like how pieces of the food comes out opposed to all at once. The lasagne was delicious and the honey friend chicken, it just took forever to get the two sides that came with the meal
The chops, Salmon, shrimp and grits, greens and Turkey, pecan cornbread, catfish and sweet potato grits are highly recommended.
Heard so many great things about this place and was excited to try it. However, didn’t realize our 1:15 reservation on last Sunday was right before the 2:00 closing. Chicken was dry, sweet potato hash was shriveled up cold and no seasoning, greens mediocre, Belgian waffle was flat and peaches not tender. Was a warmed over waffle. Fried corn was dry canned corn with some little Chile’s. Sent it back. Lemonade and tea had no flavor. Started with lemonade alone; not good. Asked for Arnold Palmer and even worse. Needed up with grape kool-aid and lemonade together. Not bad. If you are restaurant, food should be good throughout your service. Especially when you say it’s cooked fresh. Very disappointed. Overpriced, far from good food.
Really good place. I loved the cornbread, biscuits, and fried chicken. Whoever is making their music playlist is my best friend I knew and loved every song ! Also very affordable! I will be back !
Food was awesome however my wait was ridiculous!! We waited almost 1 1/2 for our food!! Luckily I drove a hour & 1/2 and was too hungry to leave!!!!!
This was a great experience. I saw the owner via YouTube videos and I knew I had to visit! The food, that I had, was incredible. I the only thing that could have been improved was the Kool aide and the banana pudding; they were very sweet. If you could dial back a little on the sugar, it would be perfection, for me at least. I know that it’s difficult to please every palate, so take the feedback with a grain of salt! Thanks for everything!
Unfortunately, there was a shortage of Greens 🥬 and I could NOT have the Collard Greens Lasagna.
Hopefully, things will get better and I will get that chance when I get the chance to go back.
Also, glad I used Open Table...it was a rainy night and folks were being turned away.
Most food was old or over cooked (i.e., greens with bacon, brussel sprouts, sweet tea, lemonade. Server was inattentive.
Date night with the hubby. This is for sure the best restaurant we’ve tried in 2018. We had 5 o’clock reservations, they opened on time. They played 90’s R&B which was awesome since my husband and I grew up on that. Ash the waiter was prompt, attentive and overall an excellent waiter. And the food...my husband said two things that summed it all up. 1. It would make you slap your WHOLE family. 2. Every single chef and cook has a special anointing. Drop the mic, this place was awesome.
Mac & cheese✅
Fried corn with bacon✅
Whipped sweet potatoes✅
Great innovative souls food menu. Side dishes were just OK, but the entrees were exceptional.
I’m assuming the day I went was an off day. I’ve been on a perfect day. I would go again I understand the ups and downs. Some waters were very nice some were mediocre.
This spot was recommended by a co-worker and it did not disappoint. We have been looking for great southern food and the food was great. We went for brunch. I recommend you make reservations if possible for this is a small restaurant with a very warm and intimate vibe. The customer service was great.
Food was excellent! I loved the surprising take on traditional soul food dishes. Customer service was also excellent and waiter’s performance exceeded our expectations. Definitely going back.
Very nice space visually. Excellent service. Thoroughly enjoyed my food. Only thing I'd improve was turning down the music a tad. Was a bit too empty in the restaurant to necessitate yelling to hold a conversation
I had a reservation for which I was on time and actually eight minutes early. The hostess greeted me and checked me in. She the motion me to sit at a table directly by the entry door. When asked her couldn't she place me at one of the three open tables further back. She noted that those tables might be for others who had reservations. I noted my displeasure with the seating at which time she said you can place your order to go. I find that response insulting. I pressed and noted I was not a resident of Atlanta. If I wanted to dine at my hotel I would not have made a reservation. Also, had I not had previous very pleasant experiences I would have left the restaurant .
It is the little things that can destroy/tarnish an experience. I was seated at on of the open tables I mentioned. During my time these open 2 person tables were only fully occupied just 10 minutes prior to my departure. That horrible table by the front door should only be an option if all of the tables are occupied.
Tonight's experience has caused me to take a break from dining here when I come to town, which is often.
The food was very tasteful and presentation was great! Lot of food. Only draw back is very small, workers kind of hang out by bathroom, also was a large ladder out in view near my table. Would definitely return.
My Mac and cheese, biscuit, and fried corn was soooo good! I didn't eat the meat because I was full from the sides. The only and I mean only complaint I have is that the service wasn't too good. And they weren't that busy. Sweet young lady just not on point. Even the lady who asked us if we had a reservation wasn't welcoming. Loved the music! It kept me in good spirits.
Party of 4. We all got something different. Everybody loved their food including the picky eaters. Wish the restaurant was bigger. Loved the artwork.
Food is great but service needs work. We had to keep asking for refills.
Please, add more shrimp with the grits and shrimp brunch. If not shrimp then add sausage.
Everything was wonderful!! The food, the service!! When in Atlanta eating at Greens and Gravy should be a priority!!
We were celebrating my husband's birthday. There were six of us. The pecan cornbread stuck to the skillet making it hard to get it out. Two of our six dishes were completely wrong; so two had to wait. The grits were soupy versus creamy. Was underimpressed with smothered chops because of no gravy. Mac and cheese was disappointing and garlic was strong. Then it got crowded and we could barely get up. The bill was brought to us without asking if we wanted dessert. When it was bought to person's attention, no one offered a menu.
Need more employees on weekend be crowd with only one watier for 6 tables
Darius never ceases to amaze me. I flew in from Dallas just to try this place. UNBELIEVABLE!
Cashmere was our waiter and did a fabulous job in keeping drinks refilled, communicating our food status, and always made sure we were good. Can't wait to return!
The service is very slow. We waited almost 30 minutes before we were given a cup of coffee. The best part of the experience is the music being played throughout the restaurant.
My experience at the restaurant was great. I loved the cornbread and mac and cheese!
Food was delicious, cozy location. The lemon pepper honey chicken was perfectly crispy and the lemon and honey flavor was not over powering.
I heard about this place from a friend. They said the food is amazing they have booths available & the other section has like a long 1/2 open booth with tables & a chairs. One person sits on the booth seating while the other sits in a chair & the table is in the middle. Nice setup though. Very friendly waiters & personnel.
Food was good but service was way too slow and really took away from us enjoying the food
Awesome food! Wish the place was bigger
We were seated at a tabletop by the restroom around 7PM. We placed our order quite quickly and our appetizers arrived in a timely manner. After 40mins of waiting, our main courses had not yet arrived. After inquiring with our server we informed that the kitchen “lost” our ticket and the manager was inquiring as to why it was lost and we were assured that the manager would be over to speak with us. We never received an update from our server or the manager regarding the status of our order. A little after 8PM I asked our server again about order and he stated that he thinks he saw them plating it. I asked for a confirmation of this and about 10 minutes later our meals arrived. I feel that the seats we were given allowed us to be forgotten. We were tucked away in a corner by the restroom not visible to anyone on the wait staff.
After being seated, we waited approximately 35 minutes for our food. Had we not driven so far we would have left. After asking where our food was, we were given our cornbread skillet which we had ordered as part of our meal. This amounted to jiffy cornbread with honey poured on it. After eating a couple of pieces of this, we stopped, thinking that our food was coming. In the meantime, a different waitress offer us yet another skillet of cornbread when she saw that we were merely sitting there with no food. I follow Darius and really wanted to like this place. We were greatly disappointed.
We heard great things about this place and decided to give it a shot. Appetizers was probably the best thing honestly. We had fried Mac and cheese and the pecan corn bread. My main dish (salmon) was over cooked, the creamed corn was more like corn soup and the Mac and cheese was salty. My wife had the fried chicken, she said it was ok at best, Brussel sprouts were decent but under seasoned. The worst part of the meal was the “box” mashed potatoes!!! What restaurant worth a grain of salt could serve box potatoes! Total disappointment!!! Unfortunately overall our experience was not a pleasant one and for the price we paid we won’t be going back.
Very nice place to eat for a couple. Because it’s small it can be quite noisy but overall the food was really good and our waiter was really nice.
The restaurant is a nice little spot in a row of small businesses with street parking available. I wouldn't use for large gathering but really good for brunch or dinner for 4 or less. They provided a nice big cup of coffee while we waited for our food. Nice presentation and flavorful. Really good customer service. My favorite item was the biscuits. It was made perfectly! Will be back to try the dinner menu.
Wonderful and more than I expected. Fried ribs were so tender o could cut them with a butter knife!
The food was awesome! The kool-aid was sweet but delicious! The entire menu is delicious!
