The Greenhead Hotel was taken over in June 2020 by local proprietor Jordan Dodwell & his partner Anna Pearson. After a complete refurb they opened the doors on the 14th August 2020.

Head Chef, Dan, & his young, eager team use the finest ingredients available using local butchers, suppliers and even forage in the nearby woodland. During the shooting season we source game from the local shoot which features on our specials board.

Situated on the Northumberland and Cumbrian border, with Hadrian's wall on our doorstep, the hotel offers a cosy drinking area with locally sourced ale, a chic restaurant serving homemade classic pub food with a modern twist and 7 newly refurbished dog friendly en-suite guest bedrooms, alongside a 45 bed Hostel, providing the perfect base for your trip.

Sunday lunch was the best. Food was fantastic. Very helpful and friendly staff. We are dairy intolerant and they were all very helpful. They have a vegan menu and although we aren’t vegan, it works well for nondairy options. Love the ambience. Highly recommend.

The food is exceptional, great service and atmosphere. It has been renovated to a very high standard and dogs welcome too with plenty of space between tables. Look forward to going back.

We had lunch at the Greenhead hotel and bistro and it was amazing, absolutely delicious 😋. The service was excellent. We look forward to returning soon and highly recommend if you are looking for excellent food and a delicious choice

We enjoyed a lovely family meal. The service was excellent, friendly, knowledgeable and efficient waiting staff. The food was delicious. There was a good diary free choice for me........! The food was beautifully prepared and presented. We will definately book again when next in the area.

I had the open steak sandwich which was exceptional. My companions had the fish finger sandwich which was also excellent.

Booked a table at the Greenhead Hotel as we were travelling up from Manchester for a few days. The hotel was easy to find, with plenty of parking available. Since we had booked a table for lunchtime (Thursday ), we were the only ones there initially. That said, we were well looked after and the food and drink were excellent. Not too pricey, so a lovely meal we had. By the time we left, the place was getting very busy, so glad we booked ahead. Would definitely recommend, and if we are up in the area again, one to call for refreshments.

I had booked a table well in advance my stay, and confirmed my booking on check-in. Food was very good, I opted for fish & chips, with soup of the day to start. Great service throughout, and great beer to accompany the food
