Parking easy when you eat early, I don't know about later.
I live in Greengate Road.
No hints but I have been there when it is noisy.
Nice place, good food, friendly staff, very accommodating
Our party of 4 had a lovely evening at the Terrace restaurant. The service from our waiter was exceptional.
However, we ended up having the most disappointing night when we went to the main area to enjoy the live music. We sat outside under the verandah enjoying conversation and a cocktail when the head security / bouncer asked my husband to leave. We are all mid 50's in age and were not causing disturbance or even being loud. We objected as we were all gobsmacked by the aggressive tone. We left and arranged our Ubers out the front of the building. Interestingly, the 5 security all stood around in front of the building flexing their muscles and exhibiting an intimidating stance. I sure hope this review goes to Management as you have lost excellent customers who benefited from your venue meeting friends half way for lunch and dinners over the past 15 years.
To treat any customer like this is disgraceful.
Fabulous service and location. Food was great but my only negative was that the “small plates” were overpriced for the amount of food offered.
Fabulous service from welcoming friendly staff who went out of their way to look after us.
Delicious lunch and a perfect day.
We always take my 97 year old mother there as it’s so quiet and she loves it so much!
Very pleasant restaurant with good parking and plenty of room. You don't feel cramped in the wonderful space that is the Terrace Restaurant. The tables are a good size and the food is fresh and tasty. Make sure you enjoy the house Gin with your meal as its terrific. Unfortunately they don't sell it by the bottle. On a hot summers day it was wonderful to sample some of the cold dishes such as Oysters and Tartare. The seared Ruby Tuna was also tasty. If your especially hungry go for the Beer Battered Flathead; I had to assist my wife in finishing it.
A pleasant venue to catch up over a delicious meal. And good service
Expensive for over cooked beer battered flathead and chips. Entree was the smallest size calamari I have ever seen.
We booked in for New Years Eve and this was our first time eating at the Greengate Terrace as we have just moved in to the area. The food was fabulous and the service great. I will definitely return.
We had a great table which was a bit private food was delicious and staff were very welcoming
We were positioned between a loud noisy table and an open door letting through a very cool night breeze.
We were not even asked for a drinks order for 3/4 hr after arriving.
Desert was meant to be a birthday cake we had provided as we walked in, but I was asked twice about where the cake might be, and who we had handed it to. Eventually it was found, and served with melted icecream.
Won't be returning.
We really enjoyed the meal and the area. Service, food and drinks all very good.
However, there were 2 noisy tables close to ours where the ambient noise they created was very intrusive. This made it difficult at times for the 4 of us to continue our conversation. The noise level was extremely uncomfortable at times.
Delicious Barramundi. Very pleasant place to catch up with a friend.
One friend had the scalops - very tasty
Two other's had the beef - excellent
Two of us shared the lamb (for two). It was melt in the mouth and more than we could eat.
The staffwere excellent but not intusive
A lovely venue to chill out on a Monday evening
The food is not bad and the service is very good and the restaurant area is fitted out nicely. However it is overpriced
We're fairly regular at Greengate Terrace, and service is always excellent - friendly, efficient, and cheerful.
On this occasion we had a large group of 15 for a family celebration, so had a set menu (3 or 4 choices from each category - entree, main course and dessert). All the options were good (e.g. the main course had a choice of a chicken, fish, steak or vegetarian dish) so there was plenty of choice for everyone. They got everyone's lunch out at the same time, hot and fresh and the steaks were cooked as requested. The value was excellent at $59/person for the food, plus drinks (which are reasonably priced).
The food is certainly very good, but what really stands out is the quality of the service, which was excellent as always.
This was a great place to celebrate a birthday with family.
Lovely light restaurant to sit and enjoy a long lunch/dinner. Food was tasty and service was good - a little slow but it was Fathers Day so understandable
Although the service and ambiance was great, the food was ok but nothing special and for what you received it was way over priced. I think a cocktail each and one medium range bottle of wine, an entree shared between 4 and a main meal each should not cost well over $100 per person in a pub.
Food was fabulous! Definitely going back soon... not disappointed with either entre or mains!
A quite dinner with friends. 3rd time back
Excellent service and really nice food, good variety.
Tuesday night is great as it is fairly quiet so good opportunity to catch up with friends
Will be back!
Fantastic service, very attentive. Food beautifully presented and generous. I only marked down the ambience due to two very badly behaved little boys who were running around the restaurant unsupervised most of the night and marred what would have been a perfect night out.
I took a friend for lunch and it was great. The waitstaff were very friendly and helpful , and the food was lovely.
I found this to be a great venue during the Winter as it’s quite cosy without being noisy as some restaurants can be.
Will definitely be back. Thanks for a great experience 😊
Excellent setting for a business lunch. Excellent food, beautiful venue.
An exquisite special for Christmas in July was offered. I had a very old favorite beutifully presented: a prawn cocktail. Then I chose turkey and vegetables. A huge piece of succulent bird, all boneless and tender. For dessert I chose the trifle. Now that was spectacular too. The staff are extremely professional. All courses came promptly and were served expertly. Definitely a wonderful experience.
Great ambience, range of food and excellent service
Had a lovely evening with amazing food and service - hugely improved since the “portico” era
Never disappoints, excellent food and great service.
Enjoyed a delicious Sunday lunch, the atmosphere, food and service was outstanding. Would highly recommend a visit there. Can't wait to go back.
Overall a very pleasant and easy place to go for a family dinner. A good menu, with something for everyone, and very comfortable. Most importantly we could hear each other talk! Beautiful revovation.
This restaurant provides excellent food and service in a delightful art deco setting.
Great service and lovely food
Pleasant atmosphere, although was a little noisy
Excellent Sunday lunch. Food was fabulous. Great wine list.
Very enjoyable meal - loved the Kingfish Sashimi & the steaks were excellent
Good food, service and value, what more can you ask for on a Monday night
We have had lunch here several times as a couple and have also had a few family get togethers. The restaurant set up caters really well for both, the service is outstanding and so is the food. Will definitely be back...
This is the second time we have been to the new Terrace restaurant, formerly the Portico, and we loved it. The menu has been re designed and has some interesting choices. Our first visit was in January and we took a South African couple who were very impressed. This time we went with another couple from West Pennant Hills and they were similarly impressed. There is no restaurant of this calibre on the upper North Shore, you would have to go into the city or to the Nothern Beaches to find its equal.
All the dishes we ordered were exceptional from the Semolina Eggplant to the Kingfish ceviche and the Panna Cotta and to finish there was good Italian coffee. The only wine we ordered was a Hunter Valley Chardonnay which was, as expected, very good and we noticed that there was a good selection of ales to choose from.
Also the table service was great and informative, when we questioned them, and it is the quietest restaurant we have ever been to.
The food was very good. Service was excellent. Value for money. Lunch menu very similar to dinner. Perhaps a clear differentiation between lunch and dinner would work well. A fresh approach to a lunch menu might increase the number of people who are there for lunch.
Great food and service. The varied menu keeps us coming back. Overall, loveliest place to eat in the area.
Great local! Food was delicious and generous serve of fish and chips. Cappacio entry yummy too. Recommend it for sure.
