Greendale Farm Shop Cafe and Restaurant
Once you've eaten why not take a stroll along our family farm trail. The trails follow a level path that’s just right for pushchairs and little legs; you can potter over to feed the friendly chickens and ducks, visit Oscar the curious Ostrich and maybe take our vintage tractors for an imaginary ‘test drive’.

Wonderful atmosphere, nice and warm with all the heaters.
Great food, great service & nice warm heaters! We will be back :-)
We’ve given 5 star reviews for here before, but this time was disappointing. We brought friends and have raved about it to them. Our mains were all good and the senior waitress was really good at looking after us. However once she went off duty the young girls were just stood around chatting. We ordered desserts and 40 mins after placing our order, the waitress came along and said they were out of 2 of our choices. 40 mins?! Why it took that long to realise. Anyway we were pretty hacked off when one of the staff said we had gone over our allocated time on the table. If we’d been served quicker then we would’ve been gone in plenty of time.
We had prebooked a table, due to current restrictions and wanting to be under cover. We arrived at the cafe at exactly the time the table was booked for a spoke to a member of staff who advised they would go and check the table. We were left standing outside the cafe for 10 minutes waiting for them to 'find' a table. When we sat down at the table it clearly hadn't been wiped or cleaned as there were crumbs over the table. Initial service was good, and waitress polite. When the food was brought out (taking around 25 mins, despite the fact it was cake and a hot drink) it was initially taken to the wrong table, but when it finally arrived it was tasty, and clearly of very good quality.
Food tasty and atmosphere nice, just a shame about the initial experience. I was made to feel almost guilty about turning up for my booked table, and despite the current pandemic we are in the table almost certainly hadn't been cleaned.
Staff were lovely but waited an hour for a drink, ordered and paid and were told 20 mins after they ran out of things we ordered.
Fantastic food and our waiter, Mete was so attentive and friendly. Will definitely come again!
Really Enjoyed the food, service needs improvement as we had to chase our drinks order and ask for condiments, cutlery, our table to be cleared and the dessert menu.
Always a fabulous experience. Food was fantastic and service efficient and friendly. Thank you
Food was delicious, it was a bit windy and rainy but that couldn't be helped! The gluten free toastie I had was lovely, a decent size considering it was gluten free!
As always service and food was fantastic. The weather was rubbish but the outside area very well done and protected and heaters very appreciated too.
Would have been nice to have been acknowledged by all the staff members walking past before finally being seated.
Excellent food with very good and friendly service.
Good service and great food. Leave room for pudding/cake!
Warm , even though cold outside. Impeccable staff, my dog very welcome, food tasty. Overall enjoyable. Will recommend
Staff working incredibly hard under a lot of pressure! An extra till at the food area would help!!
Was a good experience, the only thing was when I wanted to order more tea/ coffee I asked a few of the waiting staff on a couple of occasions and they told me they were unable to help because they didn’t have a tablet and then walked away without coming back or asking someone to help with our order. Other than that a great service
Lovely food. Friendly staff great to be out. We will be back!
Excellent service. Efficient, personable and friendly.
Good classic food in relaxed family atmosphere with sunset being an added bonus
Nice day out in this beautiful location, me and my partner had a nice meal, absolutely recommend the rump steak!
Went for breakfast again.
Always good quality and reasonable value.
Staff always friendly and helpful.
Great food, friendly staff. Only reason its not a 5 is that there was very noisy road surfacing work going on at the entrance.
I'll be back though because the food was great!
We have found Greendales meals very good and the customer service good too. Would recommend this place to friends and families.
I think you need to put a larger on that is not so strong like foster chilled you would sale more have a word with Matthew
Not accommodating for children with allergies, very slow service, poor communication
Unfortunately this 2nd visit in 10 days was not pleasant.
Table booked for 3. 15 for 6
Been seated over 25 mins and no one had taken our drinks order let alone food.
Despite it nearly being 4pm (15.55) by the time our order was taken, we couldn't order from the evening menu (3 of our party wanted grilled fish),
We ordered muscles for 3 as a starter... Meaning one bowl and three lots of bread and butter. (We were not advised this wasn't available on the lunch menu at this time)
My daughter ordered the steak baguette medium rare, I noticed it came with fried onions so ordered fried onions to go with my Rump Steak.
Drinks arrived but the waiting staff was obviously unfamiliar with the drinks or serving etiquette.
The food arrived. 3x Fish and chips were fine but when my daughters baguette arrived it was medium to well done and with a portion of onion rings and no fried onions - my daughter does not eat onion rings.
My steak arrived with a bowl of fried onions that the new waiting staff told us were to go with the baguette. We advised they had been ordered to go with the rump steak, the baguette was overcooked and to be returned so the fried onions could be sorted for the new dish.
Some time later my daughters dish was returned. Steak cooked well but no salad at all, no mayo, the onions were barely shown the pan and were predominantly raw.
For reasons I am unwilling to go into online, my daughter was left very distressed and what was meant as a celebratory meal (as indicated on the booking) ended up unpleasant and awkward.
The ongoing building works did nothing to add to the ambience and the intermittent background music just added to the chaotic nature of the event.
I would recommend Greendale Cafe but with the caveat of my recent visit.
The music was a little loud at 4.00 in the afternoon, maybe softer music for this time of day
Had to wait for our table to be seated and then waited 35 minutes for drinks and 40 for our food. Very disappointed this time . Had to ask for our order to be taken because no-one had been for 20 minutes
My friends and I had a wonderfuk day yesterday, after our lovely meal, we walked around and said 'hello' to all the animals and birds. Then returned to the cafe and had a cup of tea.
Well ventilated and spaced, service and meal very good
The food was delicious as usual, we will be back soon!
Lovely meal as always! Great to have the outdoor covered dining area!
Love what they have done with the seating area. Polite and helpful staff, doing a great job
Food for 10.00 brunch was good and the service courteous albeit not speedy but this was OK given their workload and covid limitations, Good job we wore several layers of clothing as none of the staff could get the calor gas heaters to work!
I love coming to greendale and normally I would give 5 stars for everything but yesterday I thought the service wasn’t great. We were sat at our table that we booked at 9.15 we waited 20 minutes before I had to ask someone if we could order some drinks and food she said yes I’ll be their then never returned so I asked someone else who took our order.
Then we asked if we could order some more drinks when we finished our food.
order was taken and payed for 30 minutes later I asked if we were getting our tea and coffee the waiter remembered us ordering it and asked what time it was so I checked my bank account to see what time the payment went through the waiter said ok I’ll check. that was 30 minutes ago he then went to see and came back with a pen and paper to take the order again.
As I said normally it is 5stars I give but couldn’t for service yesterday.
Great service, price and quality. Lots of COVID-19 precautions in place.
We waiting over 45 minutes for our food and when mine arrived it was cold, I did send it back and was given a new meal.
Greendale have worked wonders with their outdoor seating area - and it feels safe and comfortable and had lovely views!
The good is good - a wide selection to choose from, and it is all fresh.
Definitely worth a try if you are in the area - but you might want to book as it is incredibly popular!
The food and staff were lovely but our table was near the exit and was very cold and windy. Our food and drink went cold before we had time to finish the meal. I’m afraid that we will not return until the inside restaurant is open.
Lovely food and extra cosy with blankets in the stormy weather.
