Evolving since 2016, and conveniently located between Hudson Yards and Times Square, Green Fig at YOTEL is embracing the diversity of New York in its "New American" cuisine. Designed for the "other 99%," and open daily from breakfast to late-night, Green Fig is the destination known for hip casual happy hour, pre-theater and weekend brunch.
Emily, hostess, was so pleasant. Outdoor seating in summertime is near perfect- may be a bit windy- so check the NOAA forecast. Much of outdoor seating is on north side of building, so you're sitting in a shadow- which is absolutely perfection on 75+ degree days. Pancakes, I must say, are some of the most spectacular I have ever had. I have been on hunt for hearty, large portion, buttery, fluffy, fruity flapjacks for about 14 years in the neighborhood- Green Fig's pancakes, chicken sandwich, fries, and menu was outstanding. Very nice to be able to walk in with no reservations either. Thank you for all of your work!
Lovely food ... excellent service ... slow kitchen....
The food was delicious but the portions were extremely small, the drinks were very small pours as well.. poor value.
Food menu was limited at brunch. The food was OK - a couple of us had the burger which was too dry. The fries were decent, however. Service was very slow and they made several mistakes on the order that required us to send the food back.
Roof top was not as good as we thought.
We enjoyed a delicious dinner that was reasonably priced. The chef is successfully creative. The waiter was friendly and professional, but very busy so he couldn’t be as attentive as he might have wanted to be.
The choices of wine by the glass were limited and in one case, unusual. Fortunately, we were offered a taste before committing.
It was a lovely experience and slightly away from the crowd in Times Square.
Food was delicious! Generous portions. Sat by the window with nice high floor view. Had not realized it was in a hotel. So ambience not anything special. But food was worth the trip!!
Great dinner for my birthday with good foods, wine and services!
This restaurant is a case of 1 size fits none. Not quite Israeli, not quite modern middle eastern, just trying to be everything instead of doing something great. Exceptions were the service, which was really good, and the Morrocan donuts, which were exceptional.
I don’t know what their dinner is like but their brunch option is not worth it.
Everything tasted like it was pre-made and stored and then heated up when a customer ordered it. The seating was a joke. We sat on low couches and ate of tables that were even lower. I had to keel over the table to eat.
We were surprised to discover the location was on the 4th floor of a hotel, a fact not made clear in the blurb or website. It was very quiet, which was fine but made us suspicious. The service was welcoming if a bit inexperienced, but polite and efficient. The pre-fixe was worth the value. Drinks a tad overpriced considering the location. The apps (burrata & fried cauliflower) were surprisingly good, beautifully presented. The main courses were better than average (Moroccan chicken & salmon), the lavender ice cream was superb.
Nice place to go in a very crowded and noisy area of Manhattan. Food is very good, the tables aren't crowded together. The beer and wine list is good is a little limited. I like that it's on the 4th floor rather than street level.
The food was delicious and the service was okay, though the server was exceptionally kind.
Vegetarian was limited to only two options. The hummus selection was not fresh, lacked flavor , and did not make a satisfactory meal. I expected more vegetarian selections from a Mediterranean restaurant. The price was excessive. I left after a few bites and didn’t finish the wine. the server was very accommodating and did her best to be attentive.
I enjoyed this restaurant very much. I especially enjoyed the appetizers and dessert. The Morrocan donuts were amazing!!! The atmosphere is lovely and the service was very good.
My main course did not arrive simultaneously with my friends. In fact I had to flag down the waitress a few times to inquire what had happened to my entree which was exactly the same dish my friend had ordered. Utensils, creamer also required the flagging down of the wait staff. Not a great experience although the space is airy and very appealing. Too bad.
Waiter was great!! Loved your 7 deadly sins drink offerings
Food was really good and plentiful!!!
Dessert was amazing
Only issue was Putin our drink order and it took a long time!!!
Our waiter had to go to the bar several times to get them to get them out
The Green Fig makes the best French toast and the bacon on the side was perfection! Awesome place for brunch I'd definitely go again. Plus my waitress was a sweetheart.
Very limitrd menu. Food is generally excellent. Avoid fried coliflower...
Favorite pre-show dinner spot. Love the mezza plate and cauliflower appetizer.
We’ve been here three or four times and have always liked it. The cauliflower appetizer is particularly good. And the fish entrées have been excellent. We also like the mezze platter, but it is way too much dip for two people.
I don’t want to make too much of it, but I got a huge mouth full of sediment from my glass of Malbec. I think good service would’ve been to take that glass off of my check rather than just say, “well, that seems to happen a lot with Malbec.” Hey, if it happens a lot, then strain it when you pour it. It’s not rocket science.
The food was great but the decor of this restaurant is just bizarre. It's an interior designers nightmare. There is no one stream of thought with the decor. The menu is limited but our club sandwich and fries were amazing! If you are looking for an authentic NYC restaurant this is not it.
We loved the food and it was very close to Signature Theater.
Great service good food. Easy to find.
Disgusting food, terrible service. Just gross and they should be ashamed
Good afternoon, I am sorry your experience at our restaurant wasn't good! Will you be able to share with the feedback that made your experience not a good one? Thank you,
They need to work on the coordination of the kitchen. 2nd courses arrived before the first course was cleared. The servers were very pleasant and the food was delicious.
Excellent food, wonderful Mediterranean flavors, great vegetarian options, well sized portions. Service was timely and friendly. Perfect dinner before a Broadway show. And since this was on Restaurant Week, we got a great value but we'd go back anytime!
Our server Zach was so knowledgeable and worked with us , as we informed him that we were a little pressed for time. His recommendations were excellent. Our food came out quickly and was delicious from start to finish! The Restaurant Week menu is not to be missed. Portions were ample, food was flavorful. Will be back again!
I went to Green Fig with some friends for Restaurant Week and we had a great night! Our server was attentive and made some good recommendations. The atmosphere is very cool. I would definitely go back.
Food was terrible. Service was terrible.
Enjoyable. Nice atmosphere, great server.
The worst experience in New York City.
Our server didn’t bring our coffees for almost 15 minutes. All the while taking care of a women who came after us. She lied about the menu option and didn’t tell us until the food came to the table. My order was completely wrong, and my fiancé’s was ice cold. We asked to take it back and bring us the check. The manager still made us pay for our cold coffees. The server wouldn’t even come back to the table to apologize or take our payment.
Disappointing on so many levels!
1) so dark i had to use my phone torch to read the menu. Menu lights would help. Also difficult to see what i was eating.
2) order still water it came to the table in a plastic bottle ice cold which the waitress plonked on the table with a glass to pour myself. As i was drinking red wine room temperature should have been provided, but they didn't have any.
3) food arrived fast and furious. Ribs were overcooked, which suggests they were pre-cooking courses, and arrived as my starter was taken away.
4) i had to order my dessert at the beginning as this was off the special menu, which makes it very un-special. I would probably have chosen differently, but couldn't change. Again this suggests everything is plated up well in advance.
5) staff were keen but untrained, i was twice asked how my food was before i had started.
One of the few Christmas day options not asking for a small fortune in order to dine, we opted for this as one of our party is vegan. The food was a pleasant surprise. The soup was hands down the best thing on the table, followed by the ribs. The desserts were all a fail. My suggestion is "simpler is better" in choosing the meal, but it is a well priced option in the area.
Stepping into Green Fig you feel as if you were transported into another place and time. The vibe was relaxed, urban, trendy, and cool. The service was outstanding and we never had to ask for anything. Our server was on top of all our needs and he had great recommendations for cocktails, wines and food. The food was fresh, local and delicious. Each food item was presented beautifully and flavors were on point. I would definitely recommend Green Fig.
We didn’t expect the restaurant to be inside a hotel, but really enjoyed the experience once we found it. We ordered the 3-course fixed price meal they were running for Christmas. The food was amazing and service was great!
Food was very good , a bit overpriced but overall we like it
We really enjoyed our pre-theater meal here - it's a perfect location for Signature Theater, the New Group and Playwrights Horizons, and even for Broadway. A very nice, three-course, prix-fixe menu. Good portions and very flavorful food. And our server, Angel, was superb. Definitely worth a visit.
The food was fine. I’ve had better of nearly everything we ordered except the Mediterranean donuts, which were delicious. Otherwise, it was a fairly average dining experience.
Everything about this restaurant is wrong.
- Online descriptions fail to tell you that it is located in the Yotel, which is an economy hotel.
- Despite the fact that we may have been his only table, our server wanted to be somewhere else besides serving us
- Ingredients for the mezze plate were mixed in another century and were mediocre at best. When we asked for more pita bread, we were told that would have to pay for a seperate Pita bread order.
- The Burrata is smothered in poor-tasting smears and jellies
- Despite being marketed as a mediterranean restaurant, the Kebabs were overcooked and terrible.
- The mixed drinks featured on the cocktail menu were weak and had very little alcohol
