This is my first place to eat so it’s hard to say anything bad about it. But I had dinner here on Saturday night and the one man band was so loud I couldn’t even hear my friend across my booth.
Was seated at a reserved table. Noise level from bar band made talking nearly impossible. Received zero service for 15 minutes. Left and went elsewhere.
Possibly the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. Despite our reservation and a table sitting there waiting for us, no one even looked at us for 5 minutes while we stood at the hostess stand. It was Sunday morning at 11:30, and there was one other table occupied in a hotel restaurant, 2 weeks before Christmas. This should have been a tip-off.
After waiting for our food for OVER AN HOUR, and being told multiple excuses by our waitress, whom we had to track down (in more than an hour, she came once to take the order and that was 15 minutes after being seated, and once to serve drinks...never checked again!), we finally got a manager. He boxed up our food after it was ready another 10 min later, and comped it - which was a joke. When we got it home, all of the items with the exception of one were either missing multiple ingredients or missing altogether.
Unbelievable. Please, please stay away. Take a look at the kale power bowl photo below...missing the almonds, cranberries, EGG, dressing, brown rice (came with white!), and mostly uncooked quinoa. Oh, and the kale. Those greens = not kale.
Service was not good at all. Took forever to get someone to take our drink order, our food order, as well as the wait for the food and then the wait for the bill even though they barely had any people. They brought out bread plates even though bread was never brought out but other tables got it. They had a band playing extremely loud to the point that whole date had no purpose cuz we couldn’t even speak out loud without losing our voices. Food was really really bad, I can easily tell if sushi will be good by just trying salmon sushi, cuz it’s easier to tell the quality of fish, and it was crumbly and very very weird on texture and flavor. I had upset stomach 40 min later. They were also very rude about the fact that we had open table rewards to use, it took them good 20 minutes just to proses our coupon and right after that everyone was obviously very rude even though we tipped 20 percent for such service and yet they still gave us dirty looks afterwards. I really don’t recommend this place, it might look nice inside but I just genuinely think that the food and service is not worth it. P.s. you will never find bathroom on your own so ask for help at the front desk of hotel
Thanksgiving buffet. The entrance doors were propped open and the cold air from outside quickly cooled off the food and dining room. I asked if the doors would close and only one was closed. The cold air really turned a great experience into an okay one. The food was beautifully done and only the cold breeze was negative.
This menu is extraordinarily UNDERWHELMING. The menu is limited to a fairly small amount of food choices so I would expect each one to be truly amazing. Quite the opposite. We had the pork shank/risotto, shrimp/pasta and salmon. All were horrible. No flavor. Extremely bland. I could've done better at home. The "creamed" quinoa was just plain cooked quinoa with zero flavor. Kids got the chicken wrap and while I didn't try it, it looked like more bland food. The steak, however, was quite good and my husband enjoyed the pork belly and the octopus. We didn't bother with the sushi. I would expect more underwhelming flavors. Keep trying, chefs, maybe you'll get it right eventually.
Great location and food. Highly recommend this place.
Personable service, very professional. Hana had great recommendations from the wine and dinner menus.
Will definitely go again.
I’m sorry to say that service took over an hour, food was average and noise level from the bar made it impossible to talk
Loved the new look of the restaurant. Great place for a meal with friends or a meeting.
We really wanted to try the sushi, but were told that the sushi chef is on vacation ! Therefore no sushi available .
The food was good , but the service a bit slow.
Brunch at $59 is nice but greatly overpriced without any luxury items such as crab legs, oysters, lamb chops, fancy pastries.
Booked a reservation online since it was recommended and a first time for us 🤣. There were many people in the bar but only one other couple in the restaurant section. Our host which took five min plus to acknowledge and come up to the front was unaware of our reservation. He apologized and mentioned they were short staffed for the evening. 🧐 Sushi is amazing!!!, but don’t expect it to come as an appetizer if your dining in the restaurant section. Our waiter informed us that there are two separate kitchens and that the sushi is a little bit of a wait but worth it. Fine, and he was absolutely correct! I’m craving the sushi 3 days later! Our service on the other hand was extremely slow, almost non existent at times. Just to get our first alcoholic beverage took over 20min once seated. The live music was a nice touch! We will give a second try because we enjoyed the food and location but please work on your service, especially around dinner time.
Very open design, very quiet, not over done , is pleasant and elegant. Reservations recommended. Filet Mignon was done perfectly, and plated beautifully. Staff was very courteous and never far away. Menu is simple and limited, easy read and describes dishes very well.
Compared to previous Vines Restaurant, my expectations were much greater; in that respect, there was lack of doing so. Menu is not as extensive as I expected/hoped for. Disappointed that previously anointed/promoted sushi "bar" was not existent for lunch.
The staff and service was GREAT! We ordered a variety of appetizers and entrees, they brought out dessert for my husband's birthday while we enjoyed the live music.
PERFECT for my Dad and I! Greater Pacific was beautiful, very clean, open and yet very private in our booth! He's hard of hearing, so any background noise makes it difficult for him to hear me. The weekday lunch time was pretty empty since they had just reopened after the renovation, and a wonderful atmosphere for intimate conversation. The renovation made this a dream lunch for two!
Even giving 'credit' for the fact that the restaurant is new, the menu is awfully limited, and of the 2 entrees that appealed to me, my pork shank was way overcooked and dry, plus the fatty, cheesy stuff it sat in was awfully unappetizing. And, my wife's salmon, although a lovely, thick piece, was well done and dry. And this restaurant is in the Hyatt Regency??? That hotel's previous restaurant, The Vines, used to be excellent. Its replacement is not worthy. I don't plan to return to it.
Expensive and not worth the price. They served us over cooked fish with bones and bland chicken. The waiter was very meek and seemed inexperienced for the type of dining level this aspires to be. Went there for our anniversary and wish we had just gone to Cheesecake Factory. At least the food and service are consistent there.
Servers need to be trained better. I asked if the pork shanks were braised and she asked what that means. Very very nice server but each one should be taken to the kitchen and showed how the menu food is prepared. The pork shanks were dry and needed some sauce. Brussel sprouts were very good. No sushi on Sundays... My friend said her chicken was dry as well. Probably won't return. Vines was better.
This is a wonderful restaurant and I am never disappointed with the meal or the service.
This was our 2nd time dining at GP. Both were on Saturday evenings. The first time, they had been open about a month. This last time about 3 months. While the food is great, and the servers are attentive and friendly, we have a few critiques. The first time, our server was attentive and very friendly. Food was great, served efficiently - very little wait between courses. Unfortunately, our server knew nothing about wine and could provide no insight into those on the menu. Told us he was “more of a whiskey guy.” Our recommendation is for the restaurant to educate its servers on, at the very least, the wines it serves and make sure they are able to make reasonable recommendations for diners. The second time, we went with another couple. This was their first time dining there. We all really enjoyed the food. My husband requested that his filet be “pink on the inside, not red,” and asked that the chef grill the meat to 150° - in an effort to avoid under or over cooking. When it arrived, the inside was rare. He sent it back, and when it came back it was perfect. Sometimes that happens. Our server was very nice, engaging and accommodating - - as best she could given how many tables she was responsible for. Unfortunately, the other server(s) we’re handling a HUGE (about 25 people at two long table arrangements) party at nearby tables, so our server was tasked with handling the rest of the restaurant. Another server should have been scheduled as the manager was also helping serve food. Our server was pretty experienced, but worked hard to do a good job. Everyone has to start somewhere. In summary, we have come away from our two dining experiences at GP feeling that the restaurant needs to invest more time in training their servers. This restaurant has the potential to be considered an upscale restaurant in Santa Clarita, but it will take more effort to get there. We plan to wait a while before going back hoping it will improve with time.
We made reservations for our first visit but arrived early so went into the bar to wait for our table. After about 5 minutes we were seated in the dining room and our drinks we're brought to the table by the waiter from the bar area. He also provided menus and told us he'd be back to take our order. Other wait staff were servicing the tables around us. Fast forward 20 minutes. No sign of the waiter from the bar. No other wait staff inquired about our needs. Went to the manger to request the bill for the drinks and to advise her we were leaving. She apologized and paid for our drinks. We left without dining. Doubt we'll ever be back.
Brought out mains and starters at the same time, steaks were raw, duck was overdone. Asparagus was set on fire not "char grilled". Service was poor, somehow got two different sized champagne glasses. Steak knives couldn't cut butter. Food way over priced. Will not be returning.
Keep the Spanish Octopus on the menu!
I’m coming back for it!
waiter was excellent, food delicious, and perfect amount
have not answered the "yes" or "no" answer above due my dilemma...since Hyatt opened and with it The Restaurant previously named Vines and now Great Pacific the food has been very good however when Chief Daniel took over the kitchen it became phenomenal...however, this, Valentine dinner event, service was nothing to be proud off...the emphases i am making is the service not the food...waitress said that she had 14 tables to service and if that was so, she was set up to fail since it was a 6 course dinner...
Great start with a rose and champagne for valentine’s day! After that it went downhill. The service was just not there. The menu was fixed, but when my wife requested a plain salad instead of the goat salad, she was told no, only to have a different servicer ask her if she wanted a different salad! The table that arrived after us got bread and drink before us, and I had to request for bread. My drink was not tasty and requested a wine that I never got. My wife and I were informed that our food is running late because of the volume of clients eating today. Again the table that arrived after was served first, all 8 of them. Unacceptable for a fixed menu. The menu was $65 per person, plus additional 2 drinks and the worst part was the automatic 18% gratuity fora grand total of $198 and change, for two people.
