Only 2 issues:
1. Two of our five meals arrived warm rather than hot and were likely sitting until the other meals were completed.
2. The garlic knots were tasty but not fresh.
Food quality and service are outstanding. Great restaurant for a family meal.
We came to celebrate Father’s Day and it’s was delicious. We loved all the sauces, the salad dressings and it’s obvious everything is cooked to order and original. We will definitely be back soon. The garlic knots were a welcome surprise and absolutely delectable.
Terrific service. I asked for reduced gravy on my shrimp dish and it was swimming in sauce. I prefer less sauce so it doesn’t overpower the food. Loved the radishes in the dish.
Can't find a better upscale Italian meal in Raleigh! Try the risotto balls--they're fantastic!
The food there was absolutely delicious. Our waitress was extremely helpful giving her recommendations and they were spot on. The portion sizes received for restaurant week were larger than average which was nice as well. I'm looking forward to visiting again.
We came for restaurant week, it was nice to try all of the different items. The appetizer and dessert were great. Good wine selection. The only thing is we both thought the entrees (chicken parm and lasagna) were overly salty. The free little cupcakes to celebrate Gravy’s birthday were fun and our waitress was good. Not sure if we’d return considering other Italian options in town.
Our server Missy was amazing! She had great recommendations and took care of us the entire time. We all got apps, entrees and desserts and everything the fabulous. I’ve never had a bad experience here!
I’ve been to Gravy several times and usually love it, which is why I continue to come back. The food was okay this go round-definitely not as good as it normally is, and I have to say that other tables around me seemed to receive more attention than my own. Our server was the only one attending to several tables so I imagine they are short staffed like most places but I will definitely wait awhile before coming back in hopes things will be more back to normal!
Hi there Lisa, thanks for taking the time to leave us your feedback. Things definitely look different as we have new challenges to overcome as we are still recovering from 2020; however, we never want our guests to feel the burden of that. I will make sure to go back over our current scheduling and see where we can improve. I hope you join us again soon!
Fast service with attentive staff
Available reservations just early
Food was fine, not remarkable. Our waitress was pleasant. The overflow dining room is impersonal and several huge parties arrived, taking over. The small, male floor manager made us feel unwelcome and so uncomfortable we rushed to complete our meal. His weird energy left us questioning if we'll ever be back. Try Italian hospitality next time! Or at least a little southern socisl grace. A very lacking ending to an average meal.
Went for Triangle Restaurant Week and it was perfect. The food and service were both wonderful!
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday and Jake, our server, went above and beyond to ensure our meal and experience were perfect. Everything from our appetizer to our entrees and dessert was just perfect!
Food was tasty, nothing special. Italian dishes I make at home are just as good. There was no ambiance. If you want relatively tasty food to just satisfy your hunger, this is the place for you.
Hi Terry, thanks for taking the time to reach out to us and give us your feedback. We hate hearing that our ambiance didn't meet your expectations! We never want any of our guests to feel any part of their experience lacks; however with that being said, we've had to get creative with different dining rooms to provide a safe environment for our staff and our guests. We cannot wait to get back to old times where ambiance was a strength of ours. We hope you can join us again as things get better!
Went for restaurant week which was a bad choice. The price fixe menu was more expensive than if you just ordered the same items off the regular menu. The pasta was bland. Given what the restaurant industry has been through over the past year I haven’t left negative reviews but Gravy was a big disappointment and I wouldn’t recommend it.
Jesse was awesome! Food delicious. First time visit for my daughter. She loved it!
Service was prompt and attentive. Food was high quality and generous portions.
Love the food!
We started with the Risotto Balls, which were a little cold in the center. My wife had the gnocchi and loved it. I enjoyed the tagliatelle bolognese. Not the best I've had but good.
Great food with a wonderful atmosphere and high quality service. Highly recommend.
Some aspects of the meal were fantastic. Unfortunately, the gravy was missing salt to really bring out the flavor. Overall, we’ll be back to give it another try and hope the lack of seasoning was an error just for last evening.
The outside dining was lovely. The food and service was excellent - as always
Always great food and great service. We love Gravy.
It seems like maybe the kitchen was understaffed during this visit. We have never waited so long for our entrees. Our server was apologetic (not her fault) and dessert was comped, which was nice. Everyone is sort of getting back to normal so I hope this was just a hiccup. We will be back to celebrate other anniversaries and special occasions.
Wonderful food, helpful staff, great time! Would recommend !
My girlfriend and I are both 26. While waiting for our table, another gentleman suggested we get a drink while we were waiting. The bartender came over and rudely asked “what can I get you some orange juice or cranberry juice?”. I understand we may look young but found found the comment completely unnecessary and unprofessional. We normally have a great experience but this time was definitely subpar.
We waited 8 minutes before anyone came by our table to say hello, take a drink order, etc. That’s way too long. After that, the service was fine. The food was EXCELLENT.
Most of our order was correct and delicious. There was a lack of attention to one order and was missing ingredients listed and made incorrectly. The staff was not attentive to this nor did they apologize. Atmosphere is not great but food overall was.
Gravy came recommended, but I left feeling a bit underwhelmed. Our server was polite and professional, to be sure, but took a while to come to our table, initially, and then didn't come by very often once things were underway. This is significant, because once we ordered, it took more than an hour to receive our entrees. And then, while the food was certainly tasty, mine (at least) wasn't hot... It was warm, but not hot. Any one of those things would have been okay, but as a whole left me feeling a bit let down.
Had a wonderful dinner celebrating my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary. They absolutely loved it.
Great first date night in 18 months. Everything was truly wonderful, food, service, experience. A great value.
Gravy was AMAZING !! Our food was so delicious and service was on point! I highly recommend this place.
Great service and foos
Food was subpar but the service was good. Too much basil in the marinara, pasta was cooked al dente, and the tiramisu was bland.
Thanks for your feedback! We will make sure to mention your review to our Chef! We hope you come give us another try soon.
Will never come back here. Got a thick black hair embedded in my salad and when they replace it they forgot the dressing. Disgusting place
Hi Melly, I reached out to you via your yelp review and I would love the opportunity to speak with you and get the details of what happened. I hate to hear that you had that experience with us as we definitely do not condone that experience nor do we condone how it was handled. Again, I love the opportunity to speak with you one on one. I hope to hear from you soon!
The food was bland. Pasta over cooked the gravy/sauce was bland. Cocktails were small and non descript. Avoid this place if you know anything about good Italia m food and if you are Italian.
Food was very good - service was great - very attentive and we did not feel rushed.
Wow! Food was amazing. We sat outside after Sunday church, having made reservations (highly encouraged!), and were completely impressed. Service was fast, scallops were perfectly prepared, even the bolognese and polenta was amazing. HIGHLY recommend!
Gravy was okay. Not the best Italian food I’ve had in Raleigh
The food is always top notch. Fresh, creative and homemade.
