I notified in advance this was our Anniversary dinner. No special or reserved table was set aside.
I am allergic to MSG and was up all night after my veal meal with a racing heart and sweating. I had ordered the special hoping it would be fresh. Food was not good and pasta was overcooked with large clumps of garlic floating in oil.
My husband's pork chops were inedible. Worst meal he had ever had he told me.
We went to Grasso's instead of Prime hoping that at a smaller restaurant we would have an intimate and memorable dining experience - this was memorable for all the wrong reasons! Doubtful we would go back to spend over $200 for such an experience.
This is our favorite north shore restaurant. We have many choices but between Great Neck and Huntington but nothing beats the selection, quality and diversity of the menu and food at Grasso. Our server was well informed and very helpful. Everything came out correctly prepared and was delicious. Gluten free options were numerous and delicious as well. The berry Napoleon for dessert was excellent and worth the calories. Even the live jazz was a wonderful added touch and was not too loud.
Grasso's is terrific. We loved it period. The wine, the great food and the live music were all perfect. The waitress and all services were wonderful. This will be one of our favorites. To top it off there's a municipal parking lot next door.
Grasso's is a favorite spot of ours both for dinner and Sunday brunch. Brunch is especially nice with live jazz but there is live music most days of the week. Food is excellent, there is a good choice of menu items and service is cordial and efficient. Just be sure to make a reservation. Both indoor and out door seating is available.
Intending to be accommodating, the waitstaff was friendly and courteous.
However, it appears there was no bartender on duty the night we were there; waitstaff was short-handed; and who knows WHAT was going on in the kitchen, because the meal was endlessly delayed, the food was underwhelming (and 2 out of 4 meals over-cooked, although one meal was comped, plus the desserts) I'd like to say that we'll be back...but with so many fine choices in the greater Huntington area, I am not so certain.
Great spot for a nice dinner with live jazz.
Good selection of menu items - we've had the grilled whole branzino deboned table side last 2 times - excellent. The cheese filled tortaloni (Like large shells) was very rich and delicious.
Wine pours generous and Martini's well made.
Service friendly, efficient, and not rushed as in the past.
Prices very reasonable for the quality, quantity, and the live background music.
As usual, we had a wonderful meal AND fabulous music! Be warned that if you are here for the music, ask to be seated near the bar and if not, ask to be seated in the other room. You will hear well from both areas but will be able to talk to your dinner companion better if you are not so close to the live music! The staff is friendly and very accommodating.
The food was expensive but the quality was too notch. We started the night with a couple of Tito's martinis straight up. Great drinks! Our entrees were cooked perfectly. I had the roasted duck in raspberry sauce with wild rice and my wife had the salmon. We split the chocolate mouse cake for dessert which was excellent. We were entertained by a jazz duo on piano and stand up bass. They were really good and they played the standards. It was the main reason we chose to eat here. We will definitely come back again.
