I think the food has just been average, as this is my 3rd visit. The service has been great and the ambiance is great!
Celebrating a 40th birthday. I had requested through Opentable to be seated ina certain area but wasn’t.
We had a lovely dinner at Grassa Gramma. We sat at one of the bicycle tables by the fountain. The sound of the water added to the calming yet energetic ambiance. Our server started us off with a complimentary salud of Chianti.
Our table shared the Fig & Pig pizza which was both sweet & savory. It was topped with fresh, seasoned arugula. This is my favorite thing to eat here and I would come back JUST for this.
My two friends each had a Caprese salad and aid it was the best they ever had. One friend had the double bacon carbonara and she was happy with the thick authentic noodles and creamy bacon flavor.
I split the Lamb Lollipop entree and unfortunately the lamb was gritty and tough, and the broccolini was dry. Otherwise I would have given the food 5 stars just based on the starters.
Our table shared the tiramisu for dessert. I don’t usually like tiramisu, but the cake layers at Grassa Gramma are made with espresso and Kahlua, with layers of mascarpone cream. It was delectable.
All in all, Grassa Gramma is a transporting experience - I will definitely be back with friends!
The decor is Vegas-like - a bit over the top. Stone floors and walls makes for an acoustic nightmare.
The food was average -- no specials from the kitchen was a dead give away that this wasn't going to be an outstanding meal. The food, as I said, was average. It was tasty enough, but ...
The crab fitter was more of a hushpuppy than a fritter and was way more fritter than crab.
The risotto appeared to have been par-boiled and the finished too quickly.
The Carbonara was a bit soupy and the pasta was both too thick and too chewy.
And no, I didn't complain about any of this. I do believe the floor management would have done just about anything to make us happy, but ... some things you just can't fix.
The service was competent and attentive, but with the ambient noise level approaching that of a busy street, it was difficult to hear. And forget an intimate conversation with your dinner guests. Just not possible.
So, it was an ok night. Nothing special, but certainly not the worst.
We LOVE Grassa Gramma. Our server Jamie is the best of the best. You just want to be her best friend before you leave. She really knows what customer service is all about. The food is delicious as always. We drive 40 mins one way to eat here and we will continue to do so. With great service, great food, and ambiance who wouldn’t keep coming back. I am glad the covid restrictions are over and business is back to usual.
The atmosphere is worth a visit. Service was excellent. Food is a bit pricey but delicious. Lots of fun!
Hands down best italian in Louisville. We will definitely come back with for special occasions or for a date night after a long week again. The focaccia bread was perfect without need for oil or butter. We ordered duck meatballs which carried so much flavor! Afterwards we shared two pasta dishes and were both impressed with the palete experience. The house chianti is amazing! The ambiance was amazing, it feels like you're in Italy. The layout created a wonderful atmosphere and experience for our date night. We finished the night with a limoncello dessert which was shareable and two cocktails which were delightful!
Had a great time. Rachel and Brad took great care of us and we finally were able to sit in the famous Gucci table!
Love the ambiance! Great bar staff. Good drinks and food but the over attentive waitstaff in the dining room made us feel a bit rushed. Next time might just stay in the bar.
Grassa Gramma was good but not great! The food was ok, service was good but bordered on being intrusive. Overall, it was a good experience, I probably would not go back. I was hoping it was a good as some authentic Italian places we have been to in New York, but it fell short.
The food was delicious! The service is amazing and the atmosphere is wonderful.
Perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. Best ambiance of any restaurant I’ve visited in Louisville
Very enjoyable night out!
Went here for my birthday because I wanted to try somewhere that made their own pasta. They did not disappoint! Food and service were fantastic!
Great first time experience at this novel restaurant. Food quality exceeded expectations.
Food was wonderful, service was excellent. Awesome experience
First time here. We did a variety of dishes. Pasta, pizza, appetizers and desert, along with a bottle of red wine. Pasta was freshly made and delicious. Pizza was cooked in a wood fire oven and also was delicious. Did not care for the lobster corn fritter but the duck meatballs where good. Got to see an old friend Trett, he use to be the general manager at Volarie’s and now runs Grassa Gramma. He does a fabulous job. The outside and inside of the establishment reminds you of a old European town. Very rustic and authentic. A lot of thought went into it. We will definitely return.
Have been here several times and have never been disappointed. Highly recommend.
Food is always excellent and the service was great. Love the Italian ambiance of the restaurant.
This is a very nice place to have dinner. The service was excellent. It is a bit pricey unless you have a coupon. The wine prices are approaching a level of Sky high. The portions of pasta are quite large and very good.
We were celebrating a friend’s retirement and it was perfect. Our server Julia was excellent and the place itself is amazing and photo worthy!
Beautiful restaurant, food quality was just average.
First time trying Grassa Gramma and it won’t be our last.
Thank you for taking the time to provide us your feedback. We are thrilled to hear that we haven't seen the last of you! Hope to welcome you back soon!
The host was not the most accommodating since we arrive 20 minutes early . When I asked to be seated she said your reservation is at 615 pm I knew that
The food was amazing. And so was the service. Will definitely go back.
Kim, We are elated that you enjoyed your experience with us! We set high standards for ourselves and it surely shows in the experiences of our guests. Hope to welcome you back very soon!
Great Halibut and a great sauce to ho over the fish. Moscato was tasty also
Chuck, We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed our halibut. It's definitely a crowd and staff favorite! Hope to welcome you back again soon!
My first time and will not be my last! Food and atmosphere was excellent!

I was going to be in Louisvlle anyway to pickup some stuff and they have this Meal deal on Mondays. Great price and great food come together.
We had a great dinner, great service and our server remembered it was my moms birthday and provided dessert.
It is a little loud and dark which made it hard for my mom to hear conversation and read the menu. But she enjoyed herself which is most important so just be ready to use the flashlight on your phone.
Service was top notch as always. We had a nice dinner. The food is always wonderful
Awesome serve by Parker! Awesome atmosphere! Great evening
Great date night!
Glad we found a new Italian place to enjoy.
We went their for our anniversary and were treated like royalty. The service was amazing and the food was outstanding.
Amazing cocktails, great service and the food was delicious!
Please indicate GF past options. Celiac sufferers will not come if there are not more options on the menu.
Very enjoyable and tasty dinner with my Dad. Service was very good. Check in process is still slow.
The place is absolutley beautiful on the inside! Felt like we were in Epcot! Food was good. I recommend the artichoke dip! Great service!
Wasnt asked about our special occasion
