The food was delectable and presented nicely, with good portion sizes. The complimentary chianti toast really welcomed us and set the tone for the evening.
Perfect for our anniversary dinner, they were super accommodating and attentive.
Would be a great destination for an all-evening festivity with a group. We were a little disappointed - lasagna was all gone by 7:00 pm, and we felt subtle pressure to order sides, drinks, etc. all evening. It was not a good fit for us. But for another situation, I would try it again.
Excellent food and cocktails. Our bartender/server Moe was top-notch! Recommended Woodford Rye Manhattans that were the best I've had yet. The pasta dishes and the fresh Italian sausage along with the amazing carrot cake (had to make room). We could not have asked for a better date night out.
The food was way too salty. I had the $23. spaghetti and meatballs. The wife had the baked seafood. The manager stopped by our table to ask about the food and we told him it was salty. He said he would replace our food, but what would that do? The sauce is already made, so all we would get is another plate of the same. It's also very dark, had a hard time to negotiate the steps, even though they are lighted. The Italian music is fine in the beginning, but after hearing it for a long period, it gets tiring. My opinion is that they have a extremely limited menu and even then the food not worth going back for. The waitress was attentive and helpful.
Wonderful food and dining experience. The decor made it feel like you were in Italy!
Fantastic service from Jamie E made this a memorable evening. Can’t wait to come back with our friends
Honestly a weird place and extremely underwhelming based on other reviews. The food was average at best, the service was abysmal, and the decor reminded me of a haunted house. I’d spend your money elsewhere in Louisville.
Food was delicious as usual, however the issues this time were with our seating. I reserved an outdoor table (even called twice to confirm due to inclement weather concerns). Somehow, we were seated inside because someone already reserved the outdoor table??? The host said they have to honor the first reservation. However, there was no way for me to know that EVEN AFTER confirming my outdoor spot. So anyway, whatever, we were sat at an indoor booth that was filthy. Crumbs everywhere that we only noticed after sitting in them (sliding around the booth = sliding through the crumbs). I’ve never had an experience like this at GG, but it was my parents’ first visit for Mother’s Day, and they were pretty disappointed in that service. Bummer.
Very nice atmosphere. Decor is awesome. Food was great!!
Would have been 5 stars but was the Saturday before Mother’s Day and there was a limited menu. Understandable.
Great evening with my wife. The interior is beautiful, gives you the feeling of being in Italy.
Our waiter was amazing and knew exactly what to recommend!!! An amazing experience!!!
Great food and atmosphere!!! Our only complaint, which prevented this restaurant from getting five stars was the spotty to awful service. We had 7:15 dinner reservations and were not seated until 7:35. Water and bread were not brought to our table--despite repeated requests--until midway thru our meal.
We hope for better service next time we visit.
Awesome food, service, and atmosphere!
Fig pizza a bit too sweet. Meatballs nothing special. A friend thought his pasta too al dente. Dessert was fantastic. House wine very good. Service very attentive. All in all, good, not great.
Great service with birthday surprises which were greatly appreciated! Thank you for making it such a special birthday!
Very good. Had been their once before, when they first opened. Was much better this time.
Our waiter was pleasant and service was wonderful! We are looking forward to returning
Post Kentucky Derby. Fresh pasta. Fresh pizza. Superb
Everyone was very friendly and the food was pretty good; albeit a little pricey for what you got.
Excellent place. Very beautiful and elegant setting.
Everyone was very nice and helpful the atmosphere was excellent as well as the food.
Our server Jamie was great!!! Delicious food and wonderful decor.
Food, service and ambience were excellent! I would recommend Grassa Gramma to anyone.
We love this place. The food and service is always amazing.
Love the restaurant. The music was loud with everyone trying to talk over it made it noisy. There was a problem with a bottle of wine & staff communication. Everyone coming to the table thot they knew what the problem was, but would not ask me & they had it wrong. Ask 1st. Finally the food was excellent. The wine was very good but misrepresented.
We ate at one of the sidewalk tables so these answers only pertain to that setting. The seating is right next to a busy parking lot, the outdoor dining “bubbles” are actually on the driveway and were too warm on this day. Our server and her assistant were welcoming and knowledgeable about food and wine. All in all efficient service. I dinged them for slow bar service. My date was half way through her meal before the wine appeared. The food was good but not great and the prices too high for dishes that were mostly pasts. A $25.00 coupon received in the mail helped with that. Don’t think we will return unless friends want to meet there.
I must admit that I simply had high expectations. The atmosphere was beautifully done, and we enjoyed a comfortable, safe outdoor eating experience. The outdoor music was too loud, and after requesting it to be turned down, was fine. Much attention was given to the atmosphere, which gave the impression that it would be a great experience. Unfortunately, our server was only mediocre, and twice we had to seek out someone to refill our drinks. The food was just mediocre as well. For the price, we expected more. Neither of us truly enjoyed the meal. Maybe we should have lower expectations during the season of Covid, but I doubt we will go back.
Love it! Will keep coming back for every family birthday/anniversary/celebration! It's a special place in our hearts. And terrific food!!
Delicious experience. Felt like I had been transported to Italy. Our date night was romantic and the service was impeccable.
Food was excellent, superb service. Chef Ben was very accommodating for my allergen issues.
The blurry plastic everywhere killed the vibe and our view of the restaurant from our table. Definitely won’t go back until things are back to normal and plastic is removed.
The team at Grassa Gramma gets it - excellent food, service and ambience - when patron wants value Grassa Gramma is the place to Patronize!!!
