Great atmosphere and great food.
We came in to celebrate our 5 yr anniversary after dining here in April. We were so excited. However we ended up leaving before we even ordered. Our waiter seemed to be more interested in the 4 top that we were sitting next to than waiting on us. Then to top it all off the Poor bus boy dropped several glasses off of a tray right by our table. I had glass in my hair and down my shirt. That’s when we left.
Wonderful meal by Grassa and staff. Hats off to Tarrek Hamada, waitress & service crew!👍👏
Since opening they have reached the level which I say is excellent...I had the oysters for the app and the sea bass which was outstanding.. My wife got one of the pasta and the guest did the same...teh deserts where also excellent. Good and have a great time...The venue is like being at a pisa in Italy.
Loved it! Ambiance, food, everything was wonderful.
What can I say. This place is amazing. From the waitress who served us (kenna) to the food. We went by her recommendations, and they were perfect. We will most definitely be coming back.
I’m sure many folks think this is fine Italian dining, but it’s not.
Decor is interesting but it’s like going to Epcot and experiencing the Disney version of “an Italian experience”. From the fake flowers, to the far too small bike tables, the stonework, the fake torches, balcony tables, and giant wooden doors, this is the most pretentious and over priced place in Louisville, similar to Le Moo which is an Epcot version of a Western steakhouse.
Instead they should concentrate on the quality of their food, ”which is not bad” but far from exceptional. Closer to Buca De Bepo than truly fine Louisville Italian restaurants like Volare or Vincenzo’s.
What didn’t stack up? Everything from the Calamari with bad matching sauces, spaghetti with meatballs, soggy pizza, the sea bass and the bolognese. All are far better elsewhere.
Interesting to see one time but never to return too, once you learn what fine Italian dining really is and consider the value.
Food and service were great!
One of the best Italian restaurants in the area. The ambiance is amazing the food is un believable. The service especially Carrie our server could not be matched and all was extremely amazing.
Food was excellent and so was the service! It was a little on the loud side .. the music!!! It was simply very pricy!
Beautiful and well-themed restaurant with excellent Italian food and even better service!
My husband and I had been wanting to try Grassa Gramma’s, as we love the village anchor and Le moo. We found the perfect opportunity for our anniversary. The food was delicious and the setting was gorgeous. We will definitely be back! Another great restaurant by a very talented entrepreneur.
Once again, Grassa Gramma exceeded our dining expectations. Fabulous food and service at our new favorite restaurant. The chicken parmigiana was the absolute best!
The servers were helpful and knowledgeable- we had a gluten-free group member and they were very accommodating. Gluten free option was delicious. Not usually a Chianti fan but there’s was really nice. Go! Pricey because it’s a step up from regular restaurants.
Fabulous. Wendy a great server
I have been to this restaurant three times and two of the three times the service has not been great. Jeffrey was our server and was not terribly attentive. He asked the ladies at our table if he could get them drinks and before taking the drink orders for the two gentlemen at the table, he left. I had to ask him if we could place drink orders. We had to ask for coffee, and we were not asked about dessert or anything before he brought our checks.
The last time I was there and had bad service, I spoke with the manager. I should not have to speak to the manager multiple times about bad service.
The restaurant is really beautiful and the food is delicious. Our server Mo was very attentive and saw to every need we had with a smile and a very pleasant attitude. The problem was that unlike the first time we came it seemed that the food took a long time to come out. Also we ordered the lemon pancakes and the first order was so burned we had to send them back. They were really good once they were made correctly. I will come back since I don't think this was indicative of the restaurant.
Kris our server was amazing. The whole night was perfect..
Everything was awesome the atmosphere the food and the service!
This is becoming one of my favorite places. Great service great food great atmosphere.
The table was poorly lit and we asked for more lighting and was told it is very dark in this area. Too dark to see menus and food.
We had our best meal ever Thursday night. It was perfect. I suggest you go and enjoy this amazing place. You won’t be disappointed.
I had a great experience at Grassa Gramma the previous week. We had a group of 6 and the food, service, and atmosphere were excellent. This week my mother from Mississippi is in town and I was excited to take her to Grassa. I found the food to be inconsistent compared to my experience the previous week.
Thought the food was pricey and NOT exceptional.
Ala carts with add ones for entries ,so the check could skyrocket easily on already high prices.
Usually at nicer restaurants where pasta is served the wait-staff brings cheese and sometimes pepper to grate on your food.
When we were finally able to flag down our server, we were brought a bowl of grated cheese with a condiment fork!
This is my second time dining here. Last time the entree arrived before the salad. This was on a Monday evening when the $20 special was offered of salad, entree, and wine.
Our appetizers were cleared before we could ask to have them boxed to take home.
The special that night was lasagna and while good the edges on everyone’s was over cooked and crunchy.
I believe in giving a restaurant more than one chance . I will not be going back. For the money there are better options out there.
Excellent food! Beautiful decor and lovely ambiance.
We went for the $19 Monday special which was great value. Offer includes a glass of wine, salad, focaccia bread and pasta. All was very tasty. The staff were attentive and the restaurant was a feast for the eyes. We will definitely go again
I definitely didn’t like the set up I don’t want to go to dinner and be sitting right next to a stranger as if they were in my house listening to their conversation to me that’s all about cram in as many people in as possible
Place is beautiful & service was great. However, food was not on par with what we’ve had for years here locally or on vacations at Italian restaurants. Very disappointing since it was a birthday celebration & her favorite food is Italian.
One of the best meals we have eaten in a restaurant in a long time.
It was an important night for me and my fiance and after booking my table through the open table app the staff accommodated us with everything we needed. The structure and ambiance of the restaurant alone will blow you away, but the service from start to finish was also phenomenal. The food was fantastic. Artichoke dip for starters with a lite bread instead of chips. Then I ordered the veal chop which was absolutely succulent. Great seasoning and cooked to perfection. I will come back to this restaurant again and again.
This was our 25th wedding anniversary date and we couldn’t have been more happy with everything the Grassa Gramma staff did for us. Thank you very much.
Food and service outstanding. Would highly recommend
Enjoyed our experience at Grassa Gramma! It was very much an artistic and cultural atmosphere with excellent and friendly service!
Great experience. Food was great service was amazing.
Family dinner with son home from college. Delicious filet, spicy bolognase. Bread is too salty for my liking.
We have always had an outstanding meal with superb service and ambiance. Tarek is the best in making you feel welcome and appreciated. By far our favorite restaurant anywhere.
This was one of the most enjoyable, delectable and delicious meals I’ve enjoyed in YEARS. I’m part Italian by Ancestry and enjoyed the Chianti “Salute” and brief History lesson from My waiter Kris. Everything was 25 out of 10 stars! The most wonderful dining experience I’ve had in ALL My years living in the River City. The House Red Wine was FANTABULOUS! If You’re a lover of all things Italy and Italian this is a MUST stop for dining in Louisville!
My party and I absolutely love this restaurant. The food is delicious, and the service is first rate. Grassa Gramma is our new favorite restaurant!
Food quality needs to be better. Not enough sauce and food was dry.
Most everything about our evening was great and I’ll definitely go back. My only complaint is that I don’t eat pork and there was nothing with red sauce that didn’t have it.
