Grappa Italian Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
It is unfortunate we dined here during Sundance. There was a fixed menu and couple of us a the table had ordered the fillets. The steaks came out burned on the outside and raw on the inside, literally cold on the inside.
We did send one of the steaks back and they did come back with a new one at the right temp. However, that was a rookie mistake by the chef cooking on too high of a flame.
The lobster rav and mushroom soup starters were excellent.
The restaurant is quite lovely and we will try again, just not at Sundance.
Good experience. Last minute find on OPEN TABLE. Big festival in Park City Utah and the app made it so easy to find a table for one.
My only issue was that it was a smaller menu
Due to the festival but they still had great selections. The filet was cooked perfectly. The bread the bring you is excellent and the sauce/spread for it is amazing. I almost had to much.
Great service as well.
Second time dining at Grappa's, and was not disappointed on the return trip! I love the interior of this restaurant; warm and inviting with a lot of wood and well placed antiques. An extremely knowable waiter took care of all our needs during the evening. We started off the meal with three bowl of Grappa's Mushroom Soup, a smooth wild mushroom purée, garden chives, with white truffle oil. Next, my wife and daughter enjoyed the Roasted Whole Branzino served with roasted cauliflower, preserved lemon, fennel butter, romesco, and marcona almonds, and I had the Seafood Fra Diavolo with maine lobster tail, wild shrimp, black mussels, smoked chorizo, house-made linguini, and spicy pomodoro. Service was attentive and prompt but not in your face. It was a lovely evening and we will definitely return.
Great restaurant food is always good we go every year and every year we wind up waiting at least 20 mins after our reservation time for the table. Why take resverations if they are not honored in a timely fashion. The hostess was rather young and not sure she knew how to manage tables we where a six top and the whole time there was an open six top opposite the hostess stand. Other then that always a good meal just respect for people’s tome could be better.
We dine at Grappas every time we visit Park City. Our entire family of 8 (foodie specialists) love the creative variety of dishes, wines and cocktails. The Butternut Cannole was my favorite “this time” but I’m sure the chef will come up with another “out of the park” entree next time! I would highly recommend Grappas to anyone interested in a sensational culinary delight!!!
Return visit to a Park City Classic and they did not disappoint. Our alcove would have been very romantic for a couple, but with a family of 4 it was a bit tight, but the food and service was great. An updated Italian restaurant with great choices from appetizers through dessert. Fresh seafood and great steaks and chops along with house made pasta and delicious risotto. It is always busy but service was great.
My husband and I came here upon recommendation from a friend. The food was good but nothing wowed us. The flavors were adequate, but for the price, I would have expected more. The pork chop I ordered was tasty but the side of butternut squash ravioli dry and not very flavorful.
The tiramisu was the highlight of our meal - very good.
I will say the blood orange margarita was amazing...that would be worth going back for.
The service was exceptional and the ambience was cozy. It was a bit too warm so I had to go to the ladies room to shed some layers.
We had a nice time, but felt the prices were a bit over the top for the quality of the food.
Grappa is the one restaurant we never want to miss when we're in town. I must be honest thought: it wasn't as amazing this time as in previous years. The food was very good, but not stellar: even the grape gorgonzola walnut salad wasn't quite as wonderful as last time. Don't get me wrong, it's still a must-visit...but don't get complacent, folks. At this price point, it should blow my mind every time.
We had been to Grappa 2 years ago on a prior ski vacation to Park City and had a wonderful dinner so we decided to go back. Unfortunately, this time dinner was mediocre. We had a group of 7 family members and nobody felt they had a great meal. The filet was not hot and was described as “ok”. The pork chops were “fine”. I had a seafood dish and it was also “ok”. It included a lobster shell, but no lobster meat. Nothing was delicious or great. If this was a moderate or inexpensive restaurant we would have expected mediocre food, but at an expensive restaurant such as this, we expected great or delicious food. Overall everyone in our family was disappointed with Grappa.
We ate here for Christmas dinner in 2017.
The good: Good service, very nice ambiance.
The bad: The food! The pasta dish was bland. The duck was over cooked and dry. The veal was very salty.
We do not mind spending $$$$ on good food, but we can’t recommend this restaurant and we will not return.
From the moment my wife and son arrived on Christmas Eve we seemed to be rushed in and out of the restaurant. The server I am sure wanted to be home with the family because she certainly did not want to be serving that evening. The atmosphere was wonderfully accentuated by the Christmas decorations. The bread brought out after we ordered our wine was cold and under-baked. The pasta arrabiata was delicious but small for a main course, the branzino was dry as if it was sitting under a heat lamp for 10 minutes and the chicken cacciatore was over-baked. The server disappeared for a good 15 minutes and did not even check to see if we were satisfied with our meals. Instead of asking if we wanted desert the check was brought first. We got the message loud and clear and left disappointed.
My boyfriend and I went out for date night. I live in Park City, but had just moved here a few months ago, and had not yet made it to have dinner at Grappa. The food was delicious and our drinks were tasty too! Our server, was fantastic, and a true gem. Promised not to lead us astray and delivered on his word. Date night was a huge success :)
Excellent atmosphere right when we walked in. Warm and inviting--the restaurant was decorated perfectly for the holidays. My girlfriend and I had a great table near the balcony. Fantastic wine, fondue appetizer was surprisingly good. The butternut squash cannelloni was one of the best things I've ever tasted--served in a small pot to keep the sauce warm. My chicken cacciatore was perfectly cooked and seasoned as well. A wonderful Park City spot for a date. :)
Nice chilly night in Park City but toasty warm inside but not too much so....Service and ambience is excellent and the food was 'spectacular"....Grape gorgonzola salad and the Lobster Frigola Sardo ....cross between cioppino and bouillabaisse , great depth in the broth and the best I have had and I have had some of the best from San Francisco and my Italian mother "ma".....cant wait to get back there for more of the same and try some of the other great items on their menu...Awesome
I travel weekly for business and bimonthly for pleasure, so I eat out frequently. Service was mediocre. Food was NOT worth the price. Scallops were undercooked and orzo was incomplete. What was even worse was that I overheard 2 waiters talking badly about the food as well. The ambiance was the only good part about this experience. Was really hoping for much more than a subpar experience.
MUST MUST GO...!!! It’s a staple and been here forever, no surprise, it’s GREAT. Great food great location great food
No need to trust me. If you really go to Park City then you’ll know the streets turnovers on Main and this place remains
Oh my, what has happened? Once a nice place (the original restaurant in the Bill White collection), Grappa’s glory has faded. Food was OK, but not special (as it once was). The Grape & Gorgonzola Salad is a shadow of what it used to be.
The service was simply-abysmal. The Back Waiter couldn’t keep track of who was drinking still and sparkling water at the table. At a $10+ a bottle up-charge—this shouldn’t happen. Nor did she bus the table of finished items. Oh yes, need utensils to eat dessert. The Front Waiter couldn’t describe dishes on the menu. Couldn’t open a bottle of wine with a corkscrew (yes—really). She also couldn’t keep track of who-ordered-what for a table of four. And a real crowd-pleaser among fine diners, she hands an entree plate to a guest versus placing it in front of him on the table. All this for $35-45 per entree price points. These prices are outrageous for such an experience. I’m so embarrassed for having taken my guests there.
Bill & company—It’s time for you to refocus on what made your business successful—running a good restaurant.
Grappa’s dining room is a multi leveled intimate space perfect for a romantic dinner or special occasion. It welcomes you in as soon as you walk in the door. Unfortunately, the overall dining experience is just ok. The service was spotty for a fine dining restaurant (as the prices would suggest). The mushroom soup was delicious while the butternut squash lacked any flavor. The filet mignonette was just ok; the scallops entree was delicious. We would return again when they offer their 2 for 1 coupons plus corkage, but it’s sadly not worth the menu prices otherwise.
