Service is not what it was. Too long to get a drink, to order food, to get waiters attention. Still one of our favorite places but service has declined. May be Covid but still…
A special family get-together last night, and Grano Arso delivered as always! We were a group of 6 people. The food (especially the pasta) was beyond awesome; the cocktails were deliciously crafted, the service was impeccable. For those of our family for whom this was their first ever visit to Grano Arso, they are saying now how fantastic the food was.
Delicious food in an intimate setting. Chef/owner on the floor visiting tables. Great for special occasions or date night. Excellent cocktails. Chicken is phenomenal.
Wonderful service. Food unique and very tasty. We will be back.
This was our first visit to Grano. The old bank. Building was beautiful and the staff very friendly. The homemade pasta was delicious. Our only (small) criticism was that the bead was a small 1 1/2 piece portion per person and had a burnt taste to it.
Overall it was a nice place to eat.
Great meal, service, and cocktails.
Excellent all around
This was our second time here and we were not disappointed! The Food and Service are excellent and the Chef obviously cares about the quality of what he is serving. We really enjoyed the Parsnips! The Bavette Steak was superb! The sweet potato panna cotta was well worth trying.
We had a wonderful dinner in the dining room section of the restaurant. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious.
Excellent cuisine, excellent service!! I saw a few bad reviews online and that was not our experience at all. I would highly recommend.
Grano Arso has become a must to dine at when family (from other states) come to Chester..everyone we bring there says "You are so lucky to have this restaurant in your village".
Always excellent food, service, our favorite
Britta was superb, Joel’s food exceptional,
Wes’s bartending 👍
Start to finish the food was a miss. The parsnips were overpowered by a cloyingly sweet glaze and the baked eggplant was nothing more than messy pile of mushed skins and seeds. The pasta with sugo was destroyed with too much salt and the orecchiette tasted only of smoke flavor. Finally, we were served an uncooked steak. Given the extremely high price points for all the dishes and the numerous accolades bestowed on this Chef and restaurant, Grano Arso was my most disappointing meal of the year. On the positive side the handmade pasta was skillfully composed and the wine last was thoughtfully curated with lesser known Italian varietals.
Very supportive of my 98 year old mother
Each person in our party of six ordered a different meal, and each left believing that they had had the best item on the menu! Fabulous experience. Don't miss the caramelized parsnips. They are perfection.
This is one of the finest dining experiences in all of New England, not just Connecticut.
Our waiter was excellent!
We’ve been to Grano Arso many times in the past and the service, food and wine pairing were not at the level we have come to enjoy. It could be because it was Christmas Eve.
Brought my family for the Christmas Eve menu last night . Everything was absolutely delicious but the highlight was a gnocchi starter with shaved truffles in a cream sauce . Pure heaven . My family loved it . Can’t wait to go back.
What a gem of a restaurant in Chester, CT with a robust selection of cocktails, wines, and cordials. The small plates as appetizers are absolutely delicious and have you craving for more, get at least two prior to the entree and then re-assess if you want more. The servers leave a menu for this reason. My wife had the bass and I had the steak for entrees, both exquisite and finished off with a Gelato and butterscotch budino. Highly recommend and will be back again.
Amazing Feast of Seven Fishes! Another wonderful Grano experience 😍
The pris fix menu seemed to slow down the kitchen
We waited a long time for the entrees
Amazing hospitality, our meals were outstanding! Can’t wait to return!
Amazingly crafted food, well balanced flavors. Haddock was delectable.
Beautiful decor with friendly staff. Highly recommended.
Excellent meal and cocktails.
Great scene with every table filled.
Amazing food experience. Menu is constantly changing and every meal is phenomenal. Love Grano!
I've been twice and their food is amazing. And that should put into perspective how good their cocktails are because their cocktails are even better than their food. They have the among best cocktails I've ever had. I had the Final Frontier and it might be my favorite cocktail of all time.
The food and drink at Grano Arso was very good but pricey. Servers were pleasant and attentive, but we had to wait a long time to get our entrees. We were given a complimentary appetizer to hold us over. Nice atmosphere, and downtown Chester was beautifully decorated for the holiday season.
Our food was so perfect and the waiter was great too. We had a 5:30 reservation and we’re seated promptly. It took a very long time to get our appetizer and dinner. We were in the restaurant almost three hours. I understand the food is made fresh but that was too long. We will return and bring our family and friends.
Amazing food, fantastic location, great service…that bread is so incredible. We love this place!
Service was amazing!! Food was amazing!!!
Birthday dinner with my girl.
We got together with friends before Christmas and there was just the right amount of a festive vibe at Grano Arso. Our waiter Steven was awesome, the food was delicious, and the service was great. Can’t wait to go again!
Our server was well informed and attentive. We ordered the tasting menu and ate every morsel. It was outstanding. We will return again and again.
Grano never disappoints! We were seated in a largely empty room and had plenty of space between our table and the other diners in the restaurant. Servers wore masks and were attentive and friendly. And the food - especially the pasta - was excellent! We love their locally sourced ingredients. Their bread is also legendary. If you are visiting Chester, I would highly recommend reserving a table at Grano!
Excellent food and great service, party of 3 and we ordered 3 apps to share and 1 pasta entre to share and it was perfect! So many interesting flavors, especially liked the carmelized parsnip appetizer.
Delicious as always but service a bit slow.
Absolute perfection! The service, and food was amazing. Always a pleasure. Recommend highly.
Without question one of the best restaurants in Connecticut. No pretensions, just outrageously creative and delicious food. Hand-milled flours for bread and pasta—that’s about all you need to know
The ambience was great, but the food was quite mixed. My wife and I loved our appetizers of an onion tart and duck confit. The lower Manhattan was an excellent cocktail and the Riesling was nice and dry. The entrées, both of which were pasta, were nothing special. The waiter was very nice but the service was just OK. We waited longer than expected for entrées. We were hoping for something more on par with Arethusa in Bantam, but it was not a close call.
