   Disappointed to say the least. My wife and I arrived at about noon for our 12:15 reservation. We were greeted and shone to our table. The staff did not seem real enthusiastic…the buffet was picked over and the food was just not of a high quality. The Mothers Day decorations as well as the two roses on the table all looked wilted. We finished our $150.00 brunch in about 15-20 minutes and left. I’m not sure if getting there earlier would have made a difference but I can definitely say that having a staff member vacuuming next to our table while we were eating did not add to the overall experience but at that point we started laughing because it fit perfectly with our experience at the Granlibakken. Apparently the staff was preparing the restaurant to close so that they could set up for the summer. This was like going to a cafeteria rather than nice dining experience. Needless to say Mother’s Day was a bust! The guitarist did a good job of providing background music.

   This was not my first dining experience at the Pub and I've tried a lot of menu items. Everything is delicious! Last night was no exception. We were there to celebrate a birthday. The friendly service, fresh and flavorful food, and tasty libations combined for a great evening. We'll definitely be back!

    Carlos was our server and he was very knowledgeable about the dishes. He was very courteous and kind. We are staying at Grandblakken and find the people who work there equally nice and accommodating. We plan to eat at Cedar house again and enrolled in their points program which is a great way to get a discount! Highly recommend it! Great food! I also don’t drink and the bartender kindly made me a delicious mock tail.

    Nice evening and good food but the service was terrible. It’s like they were missing servers—I think the chef brought out our food and the host was trying to be a server. Would have been nice to have someone apologize or at least explain what was going on that night.

    Absolutely a fabulous experience. Carlos was so welcoming and gracious. Explaining the menu and sharing the daily specials, we wanted to order it all. All of our entrees were delicious! The ambiance inside Cedar House Pub in the winter is warm and traditional with an authentic Tahoe feel which Granlibakken Resort is known for! A must be visit! FYI the summer deck dining is fabulous as well!

    Food was delicious. I had the Steak Picante. There was a BBQ ribs special but they ran out. The cocktails were old school and were excellent. The prices were very reasonable. The restaurant was cozy with a large fireplace with a roaring fire.

    Went for a Norwegian Feast for Christmas Day during our family vacation. The chicken was dry, vegan meatballs were tasteless and not many options for kids but processed chicken nuggets and fries… not worth the price for such a poorly executed buffet. The 18% mandatory gratuity was a joke, since we had to serve our selves and get our own drinks.

    What a gem! Both Granlibakken and its Cedar House Pub harken back to the days when Tahoe wasn't all about crowds and ostentatious displays of wealth. The staff, service & food are superb and the entire operation feels comfortable & effortless. A place to return again & again...

    The food was fantastic. We had the salad with the steak which was superb and the other entrée was the lobster roll which was excellent. The restaurant was quite busy which was good to see and the service was pretty good. We will definitely be going back as it was a great spot for a wonderful dinner and enjoyed the ambience.

    First off, the restaurant itself was hard to find as there are no signs specific to the restaurant. We drove all around looking for it. Note it’s in the main lodge building, up some outside steps. The shrimp skewer was to die for! My husbands steak sandwich was so tender and delicious (and huge). I got the lobster roll, supposedly it’s their specialty, and it was super disappointing. No flavor at all, served on a potato hot dog bun, and must have been imitation. I ate maybe a third of it. Not worth the $22 price! The bartender and our waiter were super friendly and fun with great senses humor. The deck was cute and casual, it was a warm night so perfect night to be outside.

    We were seated right away but then it got a little interesting from there. We were told many of the appetizers were no longer available (apparently a very large group came though the place) so we didn’t really have many options. My husband then ordered what he thought was a small house salad and not until it showed up did we realize it was a dinner salad. Guess it wasn’t clear originally. Then another waiter came to take the menus to which we explain we haven’t ordered yet (the rest of us now that we realized the salad was a dinner item). We ended up ordering a simple grilled chicken burger, and another salad but with an added protein. It took a long time to get those two items and we were told well a big group just ordered before us (they were right next to us and already had their food). As far as drinks we ordered some items that left us with “the last glass” from an open and only cold bottle and an ice-tea which was actually a green tea. It was perplexing. The food was definitely delicious and overall the staff was nice and managing. There seemed to be only a handful on staff but it was more the process of placing an order and not being clear about the menu that was somewhat of an issue. Understanding that the service industry has been significantly impacted due to COVID issues and sounds like housing issues for staff we understand there can be some issues but again it wasn’t so much the staff or food there was just some things they didn’t jive with the process from ordering to getting items.

Saturday was in fact our first evening for the season. I personally overheard our Chef reading off the out of stock list for the evening, and I was distressed. Supplier issues and the group caused us to take our attention off of restaurant requirements - apologies. As for the "iced tea"... all that I can say is "sorry" and that we will retrain staff. We hope that you will be back, and notice improvements.

    We thoroughly enjoyed our Father's Day dinner! Our reservation was at 5:00 pm. My husband had the Father's Day steak special and I had the Salmon fillet sandwich. Both were delicious! Our server was very attentive and helpful. Granlibakken is a beautiful place and we look forward to returning to the Cedar House Pub soon.
