We had the perfect evening! Great food, ambiance, and service. Isaiah was the best!
Glad to hear it! Thanks for taking the time to share your experience.
Chicken Alfredo - Chicken dry, little sauce - returned to kitchen for alternate dish.
Burger - 2nd bite bit into something hard, didn't eat.
Buffalo Chicken Wrap - Chicken dry, enough lettuce for it to be considered a salad.
We love Granite City! Excellent food and service every time!
JulieG - Glad to hear it! Thanks for taking the time to share your experience.
The menu is too limited. Turkey burger was marginal. Fries great. Blue cheese salad good except very little dressing. Service was very good. Why does the music have to be so loud that you can’t visit at the tables
Food never disappoints. Server apologized for the delay which we totally understand with the labor issues - it did not diminish the service or food - Hard working staff juggling multiple jobs. Very impressed.
We have eaten here many times and love it. However after today will probably NEVER return. We were sat right away as I used the Open Table app to reserve the table. But then we sat nearly 15 mins and still no one waited on us. We grabbed a manager as he walked by. He apologized and took our order. However, we still waited until we finished our appetizers until we got our 1st round of bar drinks. Our entrees came and all our dirty appetizer plates sat on our table until we told someone to take them. Then, as I was getting ready to leave... I got an email from open table that we No Showed for our reservation and may not be able to use the app anymore to receive rewards and make reservations. When leaving, I mentioned this to the hostess that sat us. She argued with me stating she did. Obviously she didn't cuz I got the email. She said " no big deal. Don't worry about it. I really don't want to discuss the computer system with you!". She was so rude for no reason.
I have never in my life had so many issues with do many aspects of a dining experience and am NOT happy about it.
Also, the manager switched our server w out our knowledge. We had so many people stopping at our table after we approached the manager initially, I got dizzy.
The only thing done about our dissatisfaction was our first round of drinks was free cuz they took a while. I am so upset that I am emailing the company directly which I have never done in my 45 years of life. Beyond disgusted and annoyed. Enough to the point my favorite past restaurant I drove nearly 2 hours to eat at, is going to become a distant memory.
It was good. A sweet and competent server and good food. Lots of fun to be outside.
Beautiful patio with live music that evening. Food was good, but arrived sporadically. Overall, a nice place for a casual dinner, but not a destination.
Server was awesome! But the menus are trashed - all 4 were virtually unreadable due to what looked like water damage. This location should really order new ones! Also the appetizer was almost sad - 4 slices of pita bread for the artichoke dip and a scattering of tortilla chips that didn’t fill the plate. Entrees were amazing as always!
Ate outside, needed an umbrella as one in our group of eight had skin cancer so couldn't be in sun. They had no problem setting that up. Only strange thing was I set up our reservation for 1 o'clock and email I received confirming reservation was for 2 o'clock. They took us at the 1 o'clock which was awesome. Service was excellent. Had prime rib sandwich and couple of big pieces of fat but rest of meal and appetizers no problem
The music was a little to loud tonight so it was hard to have conversations amongst 7 people. We asked them to turn it down a bit and they did. Burgers were very good and the brussel sprouts appetizer could have fed an army there were so many!
Great food. Many choices. Quiet. The rolls were VERY good.
This was a lunch meeting at 11:30 on a Friday. The place was an absolute pit. Our table felt grossly sticky. There were little flies flying all over the place and several of them were stuck to the grease splattered glass windows that separated the food preparation area from the dining area. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. The food, well... the Chicken Alfredo (that's what they called it) was spaghetti noodles maybe a teaspoon of sauce and 4 sliver sized strips of burnt chicken and house salad with ranch that tasted like dirt. The Northern and Cheese soup was like water. The fries a few people had were the bottom of the bag fries and were over-cooked. The chicken fingers were so overdone they were like trying to bite into a rock. Bad day for them maybe, but I suspect this is the norm for them these days. I fully understand places are struggling, but this was unbelievable. Never again!
Our server seemed a little more interested in their partner that was dining versus helping other customers. Thank goodness for other servers otherwise I’m not sure we would have got our drinks and/or food.
This isn’t a normal occurrence so we will be back
I've been the granite City many times, and I've always enjoyed myself. However this time was a little different, seems as though our waiter was a bit off. He had to ask a several times of what we ordered he even came back to ask what we had ordered, and even though we had drinks and a meal, dishes were rarely removed from the table, to the Point where I had to stack them up at the end of the table just to make room for us, and even though he brought more drinks for us, he still never picked up dishes when he left.
No directions/instructions given on brunch. We were unsure if could just order from the menu as well. Seated right next to large table which was primary concern of server. Occasionally asked if we were okay on the way by. No dessert options offered or on brunch menu. Ordered unlimited mimosa, was given 2 small 1/2 carafes and never asked if I wanted more. Ordered orange juice and wasn't delivered until 1/2 way through meal. Had 1 large table of offerings and omelet bar. Felt skimpy for a brunch. Asked for coffee and took 10 minutes to get it. Disappointed as I had chosen to go there for my birthday celebration and even wrote that on the reservation. This was never acknowledged in any way. Disappointing as had been one of my favorite places to go.
Great food and great atmosphere! Our server was also very knowledgeable on the food and drinks.
Not busy but it took 8 minutes for someone to acknowledge us at our table the. It took 30 minutes to get our appetizer and it was made wrong. We were told it’s because they were very busy. There were maybe 15 tables inside and the patio by the pond was full. All of the tables outside wouldn’t have filled up the restaurant inside. Food came out was all disgusting. Boneless wing were chewy, bread on sandwich was a crouton, and burger was way overcooked. We will not be going back anytime soon.
The Brussel sprout appetizer was delicious. Our dinners took forever after those. Once they came the grilled salmon was over done and the dinner bland. The bison burger was perfectly cooked and much better than expected. We ordered a flight of beers to taste and after a LONG time she dropped it at our table and left. Two of the beers tasted like grapefruit rind, so obviously IPA's that we specifically said we hated. She came back and said she gave us the wrong flight, but it was only off by one. She brought the correct one and acted like it was great that we would get it for "free". Huh?
Meeting the boyfriend - brunch.
We went to the Sunday brunch special and it was not as good as I had hoped. Generally the food was good but some items fell short. Also very pricey for what was on offer. Because they only have this on Sunday morning, it was packed and loud. None of the outdoor seating was open.
It's great at other times when not so busy with their normal menu. Not so much for Sunday brunch. :)
It was just ok. Not over the top. They forgot my wife’s meal. The server was great but the food was mediocre.
The food was good but the service was so slow! We were there 2 1/2 hours to eat a meal and dessert. Never checked on us. We were very disappointed.
We got every May 1st to celebrate the anniversary of our 1st date, this year it was 17 years. Last year because of COVID we did curbside so it was nice to be back in person. Our waitress was great, the food topnotch.
Cold fries again. But otherwise food was good
Service was very slow! Our server didn’t bring us any plates for our appetizers- so no where to put shrimp tails.
Server was very inexperienced. Had to get up to ask other employees for condiments for our table. Even had the nerve to ask if he could keep the change when collecting the check. Very rude and ruined the experience.
The food was great and our waitress was amazing. We had a large group and little children, but she made the night fun!
Granite City is always a great place to enjoy a yummy meal! Brunch on Sunday was very good - plated meals to help keep everyone safe, bottom-less Mimosas and a server that went above and beyond!
Service was slow as the restaurant wasn’t very busy. Entire table was served except I had to wait for my salad which took longer. Drinks were empty fir awhile before filled.
Slow service. Dirty dishes left on the table.
We love going on Mondays for $6 burgers & fries. Their food is very good.
The food was not at it's best. We loved going to Granite city for the buffet. It was always spectacular. This time, the prime rib was raw, not medium rare. the pasteries were dried out and stale. The hashbrowns didn't taste the same as before. The French Toast was more of a bread pudding mess. The fruit didn't have any flavor. The scrambled eggs were cold. My boys are 12 and they eat me out of house and home. They tried a few things on the buffet and refused to eat anything else. The waitress was exceptional! She was timely and considerate and was the best part of the experience.
Our waitress was very busy but she did a great job of tending to our needs. I thought our food was a little dry but it did come hot and ready. Overall, I think the Valentine special was great for the price.
Walked right in and was seated immediately with our reservation.
Food was excellent and the craft beer is always excellent.
Our server was fantastic!!
The food was not very good. I was disappointed that we were not greeted as we walked in at all. The waitress was wonderful and the best part of the experience.
The service was good and the food was also good.
Eskimo pods are fantastic! Our party of 8 stayed warm with the heater inside.
It was great to be served good food during this difficult time. Thanks Granite City!
