The Sunday brunch is really nice. My first time having brunch, but my friend was disappointed not to be able to order from a menu. Nonetheless, there was plenty to choose.
I asked for bread with my lunch salad. Waiter brought over some bread and charged me for it. He should have mentioned there is a cost for bread.
Seems like restaurant lacked proper management
Took our family for an amazing brunch. The food was awesome and the price was good as well.
Good food and great service at a reasonable price.
Have had brunch here multiple times over the last few years. Food quality and food choice on the brunch menu greatly diminished from previous visits. Service was slow for getting our drinks, we got our own food, but not much choice.Much better brunch choices include Meson Sabika or the club in Oakbrook
Horrible!! We had the Sunday brunch and it was awful!! If I could give it no stars I would. We got there at noon and several of the tray were empty or half empty and every time we went back up there, something wasn’t filled. They were out of the Mac and cheese the entire time we were there. We scrapped the bottom when we arrived and never was refilled. The donuts were hard and the Oreo topping were stale. The waiter took forever to come to us the first time to take our drink order and then was scarce after that. There actually wasn’t that many people there when we first arrived so I don’t know what took so long for him to come over. I asked him a simple question and he didn’t really have an answer so he must have been new or just an idiot!! We overheard several other tables complaining that there was no food up there. Their server said that they were bringing more out which is a crock because we were there for 45 minutes and hardly anything got refilled. They have been doing brunch for several years now and should have this down pat. This is the 4th or so time we have been to this restaurant (lunch and dinner as well) and each time we go back I think it will get better and maybe the last time was just an off day. Nope!! Never again. It was awful!! I can’t believe this restaurant is still in business!! Yuck!!
Food was not worth the price service was ok took quite awhile to get food once we ordered. Was not that busy as we were there at 6 pm.
We come to this Granite City location fairly often. The last few times our experience hasn't been as good as it has been in the past. Primarily it has been because our food has come out cold. The restaurant has been good about compensating us for it, but we would really prefer it simply to be right the first time.
We’ve had our server a couple times now and he has been amazing! Just from greeting us with a nice warm welcome and being super attentive!
Our first visit was a delight. Service was great and food was even better.
The restaurant was Amazing! Very nice on the inside. The only issue was that their was a large Family that was there around 9! And they were extremely Loud! That I couldn’t hear the conversation I was having with my friend. I Understand we all like to have Good Fun with our friends and family! But they were over the Top! And it was kind of upsetting. I know that is within you guys control, because you can’t control peoples level of Fun. But other then that That! The food was Great! Our waiter was very Nice! I can’t remember his name. Whomever the waiter was that worked on aug 3rd at about 9p.m.. if that helps! Lol, but I will
Most definitely Be Back! Thank you!
Nico and the rest of the wait staff were friendly, very accommodating and provided superb service. Great food and drinks. Pretty decent outdoor dining. I will be back!
Got there at 540. Ordered at 550. Food didnt arrive until 640. Almost missed our 7pm movie. Food was undercooked (hard rice) and too small for the $. Beer was good. Waiter was good. Place was clean and open.
This place used to be great. I'm not sure what happened tgese past six months but the place us dingy. The serving staff tried hard but are in need of training. The kitchen couldn't get the right food out and when it did, it was luke warm. We'll try again in a month of so because maybe they were having an off night. But, 7 pm on a Saturday and the parking lot was half full tells me this is probably not a one time issue. I can't recommend this place to anyone right now.
Granite city in Orland was a little disappointing. The outdoor area was not appealing and the tables were bare and really close together. One side of the outdoor area was closed. So we were placed practically on top of the people next to us on the very noisy street side. We waited for an extended period of time before someone asked if we were being helped. We have been here several times before and have enjoyed the food and the outdoor experience. It really has gone down hill and was very disappointing. The highlight was the very good glass of wine we had before we left without eating. We headed down the road a bit to a very good seafood oriented place. Sorry GC, but this was our last experience with you. Too many other good places to go.
First bad experience at a Granite City Restaurant. Friends from out of town for a hockey showcase and the food was cold and service lacking. Salad was warm and steak was cold. Fries tasted as if they were made earlier in the day. Very disappointed.
I did go on a Tuesday not many people which was good for me. Service was great, food was good, and wine was delicious as well. I always wanted to try this place and glad I went.
We started off with the boneless wings and they were good, but the blue cheese dressing was to die for. My wife had the Asian chicken salad and it was as good as always. I had the special ribs, and they were just ok, and the Hawaiian toast was missing. We also had the bread pudding, and it was overly dry and could have used a lot more of the tasty sauce.
Some of the food was cold ,the chicken and some food on the large buffet was cold , could have more non pork breakfast meat options , I had my adult son with me who does not eat pork , should offer more turkey breakfast meat or chicken options , pancakes would also be a nice choice along with grits to be added
Marvin was our waiter. He is extremely attentive and courteous. He should be a trainer and spread his infectious positive attitude to the entire staff. He is a hard worker for sure!!
The waitress was extremely nice and the beer was really good. We both got pasta dishes that were amazing. We ordered the Irish nachos and there was practically no cheese on them.
We sat in a booth in the bar area. The bartender Amy took care of us and was absolutely superb. She had a full knowledge of the menu and was on the spot with her service. A wonderful evening.
We've always enjoyed Granite City, but our most recent visit to the Orland location this past Sunday was very disappointing. We arrived at 1, in the middle of brunch, so we figured it would be winding down. We later found out that it was being held over for a larger party. That would have been good info to know as some of us wanted to try it, but we didn't want to feel rushed. Our server never gave us the option. We had to chase him down for a drink order and utensils. One member ordered the fish and chips and had to send it back because not only was it not battered, as described in the menu, the fish was burned. I doubt that we will return
This was our first dining experience at Granite City. I made reservations online and was sat promptly . Our server took 5 minutes to greet us, brought us our waters then we didn’t see her for another 15 minutes. Other than that, the food and ambience were great !
We had outstanding service from Sarah. She had an excellent working knowledge of the craft beers that were being served & she encouraged me to try multiple samples. She was friendly & attentive to our needs.
Terrible service- David
I would not come back for brunch. The food was cold in some places and just didn’t seem to be a good value for the money. I’ve been before and it’s better for meals. Also advertise that there are no mimosas till after 11. Service was nice, place was clean.
Food was delicious. Server was fantastic. We were sitting next to a large group of people who were very loud but it’s not the restaurant’s fault.
Took my friend there for a birthday lunch I have been to this location several times and never had this bad of an experience the waitress took for ever to greet us Food was cold dirty dishes were on several different tables and sat there the whole time we were there when they should’ve been cleaned had to keep asking for a refill on my water and it wasn’t even that busy was very disappointed.
Service was slow. We had to track down who the server was after 10 minutes of waiting and not being acknowleged. Donuts were hard. We had to ask for the cinnamon rolls although that should be something they bring automatically to the table.
The food and service were great. Cant wait til next time!
Dined on the patio.
Very noisy because of the traffic on LaGrange road. The planters had huge weeds in them. Not ready for Summer dining at all. Didn’t look like anyone swept outside.... lots of food droppings.
Food was very good. Would probably opt for inside seating next visit.
Their seasonal menu is always worth a look. I've always been happy when I order off of it. The regular menu is also great - many options and unique combinations.
All around, a great place to eat!
Good selection of beer as expected. The menu has a lot of variety.
The noise level was not too noisy. The booths were roomy.
Great food and excellent service by our waiter Sean
The server was great
I had been to Granite City before and was very enthusiastic about coming again with my Mother and family for Mother's Day, I was throughly disappointed to say the least. The wait time was ridiculous and the restaurant was not crowded at all! To add the food wasn't right I ordered a sirloin medium well and it was cooked well done and instead of ordering another steak and it being cooked wrong I changed my order to the shrimp cajun pasta, and by the time I had gotten it everyone had finished and it was time to go so I asked for it to go, I didn't check it which I should have and when I got home it was some kind of chicken pasta not the shrimp I'd asked for. It was a party of 9 so the tip was automatically added which came to roughly 30.00 and the service was definitely not worth it. Mother's Day for my Mother, Aunt and Cousin was totally ruined.
