I took my girl friend there for Valentines Day. The table greet was 7 minutes leaving us to wonder if we had been forgotten about. We where greeted and it took 5 minutes for water to get to the table. Our waitress was also preparing for a party of 30. Total embarrassed to hear hear steak had a lot of gristle in it so did mine. Her desert of ceme Brule was cold. Would I go back....yes but not for steak dinners.
The service and food was excellent!! I’ve been a mug club member for years, and I always enjoy a beer when dining. Love the Benne Bock.
We go here quite a lot. Everything was good as usual.
Made valentines dinner reservations almost at the last minute & was expecting to wait quite sometime before we were seated, but we were seated promptly at our scheduled reservation time & our waiter took our orders in a very timely fashion. Meal was delicious. Overall I’m very impressed with this location and certainly expect to come back again.
Made a reservation for 7:45 and didn’t get seated until 8:15. What’s the point of a reservation? When we got seated we saw at least 10 open tables.
Made a reservation on Open Table and we get there and find out they don’t even look at open table reservations!!! It was a busy Saturday night and we had to wait forever!! Unacceptable!! Don’t have your restaurant listed if you don’t accept OT reservations!
Secondly, our server was HORRIBLE! We had to flag down another waiter to get us a refill on our drinks because our waiter never came back to check on us!!
Excellent food and beer selection, great place for an meal with that special someone or business meal.
Very good waitstaff
The Sunday Brunch has really gone downhill. The food was lukewarm at best, carved roast beef was extremely fatty with very little actual meat, there were no vegetables or salad, the number of offerings has drastically decreased and the price has significantly increased. Probably our last time for the brunch.
The amount of food served was more than what I expected, even though it is a little pricey. All in all the service was good and the food was good also.
Overall ok. Some requests with food choices were made with no follow through. When waitress saw requests were not followed just said sorry and left. No attempt to correct. Requested lime slices for fish and was brought 2 slices that were completely dried out and looked old. Surprised waitress was comfortable serving.
Great location and good service. Food choices were amazing for allowing large groups to make selection
Food was so-so. I’ve eaten here many times in the past and food was better. Not sure what was wrong that night.
Our first and last experience at this restaurant was horrible.
As if we had no reservations, our Open Table reservation was completely ignored. I realize it was Christmas Eve, but so should have the manager by bringing in extra staff. The one hostess was working her tail off but to no avail. When finally seated, we noted several tables available, but not cleared off. Only noticed 1 busser. Our appetizer arrived after our long awaited meal, which was cold! Even at the end of a two hour fiasco, the waitress even forgot to bring a pen to sign the check! Complete failure on every level. I cannot remember worse service. We will not be back!
Service was poor. Even once we tracked another person to get the bill it took for ever to get it picked up and bring cc back
Christmas lunch with in-laws and my parents
If you want a great meal at a reasonable price accompanied by a great beer, Granite City is the place to go.
The food was outstanding, I ordered the Cajun Chicken Pasta and the flavor was awesome. I would recommend for sure.
We've been to Granite City at this location many times and have always been pleased. Unfortunately, we did not realize it was "Santa Sunday" on the 16th or that we would be seated (we had a reservation) right next to the buffet bar -- we were not doing buffet and told the hostess that. The noise level was very high and not what I would describe as "energetic" but loud. Also, where the cook was preparing omelets -- not far from our table -- some sort of spray was put on the pan that spread into the atmosphere and caused virtually everyone in the vicinity to cough. All in all, not a winner for us this time.
Overall ok. Salmon over cooked, sides could of been warmer.
Fries and flatbread were not hot just warm
We dine at Granite City often. We usually have a good experience.
Horrible! Drink order wasn’t delivered until half way thru meal. Never saw a member of management. Someone comped a glass of wine, don’t know who. Food had no flavor and was poor quality. Server appeared to have too many tables and was unable to keep up with the task at hand.
We hadn’t been to Granite City for several years and the food was as good as we remembered! We ordered hot wings, which were crispy and delicious, and the bacon cheddar cheeseburger with waffle fries and Granite City Dip. Love that stuff! I’m giving 4 instead of 5 stars because we had a reservation but still had to wait 10+ minutes to be seated.
We were there on Thanksgiving. Our table was ready when we arrived, the food was awesome and everyone there was terrific.
Thanksgiving dinner was great. We got right in and had a very short wait before we started eating the first course. Food was too much for the two of us, but the leftovers filled us up again on Black Friday. We look forward to trying other dishes and Sunday brunch too!!!
We had made reservations for a Friday night and when we arrived, the hostess seemed annoyed that we did. We were seated at a make-shift table that staff bumped every time they walked by. They forgot our appetizer. Not a good experience.
Great steak & appetizers, horrible service. Had to flag down server after 4 tables after all received their dinner orders. We then got our salad, appetizers, and entree within two minutes of each other. Flagged her down again to order a drink. When she brought it she gave us the check and to go boxes as we had barely begun to eat. We weren’t offered dessert and had to once again request a water refill. Great food but definitely felt unwelcome as though we were an inconvenience . The restaurant wasn’t even busy and plenty of staff was on duty.
One of my favorite restaurants. The craft beer and food are excellent and reasonably priced. Service is always very friendly and efficient.
Spent $18 per person for the Sunday brunch buffet, the variety of food was disappointing and most of the food was old. We were even sat in a section without a server and had to go get the hostesses to resat us. We will not be back or suggest to anyone.
We frequent Granite City a lot and really like the food and beer. This night I made a reservation on line. When I arrived, I told them I was there and had made a reservation. After watching many people that came in after us get seated we asked about our table that we had made a reservation for. They look confused. You could tell they totally overlooked us. Guess making a reservation doesn't matter.
Food is always good. Granite City was very busy and took a long time for our server to greet us. Food took even longer to get to us. Noticed people received their food that had ordered after we did and they had the same server
Bad service. Server did not write down the order, and my meal was messed up when I asked politely. Did not get checked on after food came out. Staff was hanging out with friends and not waiting tables.
Our waitress brought us water then disappeared. Waited 20 minutes and then had to grab another to get her to take our order.
Normally we like going to this restaurant. But Sunday's brunch proved disappointing in part because it was confusing. The online menu led us to believe that it was possible to order from a menu and have food brought to the table. But as it turned out, all the food was connected to the brunch. Also, the menu descriptions of several items did not demonstrate truthfulness. Example - the caramel role which was supposed to be served with whipped butter - not available. In fact our waitress we very confused when we pointed this out to her on the menu. So good old wrapped hard small butter patties. And the caramel sauce was overly sweet and runny. I also ordered the Eggs Benedict - hollandaise sauce bland, no lemon flavor, just messed up the plate. On the plus side there were lots of other items available, but what I wanted and ordered turned out awful.
Good food. Menu offers a nice variety. Too noisy for real conversation, but when you describe high noise level in the survey as "energetic," it's pretty clear you think that noise equal enjoyment.
Had SPINACH & ARTICHOKE CHICKEN
Chicken breast, spinach & artichoke dip, lettuce, tomatoes, provolone cheese, served on multigrain bread
The bread was absolutely soaked with butter, very greasy. The chicken was a little over cooked.
Would not recommend this sandwich.
Went on a date with my boyfriend this evening and really enjoyed the food, it was really busy but our waitress was very on top of things and made the night all the better, always enjoy nights here
Reservation for a party of 12 was for 6pm NOT 645 pm. I understand it was a Saturday evening and that it was busy and perhaps a wait if 15-20 minutes, but 45 minutes was is RIDICULOUS!!!!!
We enjoy dining at Granite City at least twice a month. Excellent food and beer!!
