The wait staff was not good or attentive. Nobody even looked up while we were leaving. I've been multiple times . Love the bartender Bailey. But our waitress was terrible . Seemed bothered to be there and it was brunch not hard to at least seem to be thrilled to be there
We made reservations and were seated in a back back room where we were the only ones seated. We were very disappointed with the seating. The room was back by the outdoor seating and the staff was in and out.
Great atmosphere friendly wait staff and food for all appetites. Great time with family.
Buffet was disappointing. Not much to choose from. Line was way too long, needs to be on both sides. For $30 you should include a drink.
We went for the brunch. We had eaten the brunch prior to COVID and we loved it so we booked for Father's Day to celebrate. For 5 people we spent just shy of $200....the food was good but definitely not great. It seems that there was not as many options as they previously had and they were having a tough time keeping the food stocked. Our server started out rude as she told us she was just so busy but she would bring our rolls later.....she got better towards the end of our meal, I am assuming that was because she was looking for a tip. I was terribly disappointed in our meal there yesterday. I am not sure we will be back for brunch again....just not worth the money.
Our family has had a number of dinners on holidays at Granite City and enjoyed the food and service. We reserved for the Father’s Day brunch for 6 people based on past experiences and delicious food. Unfortunately that was not the case on Father’s Day. Food was all over the floor from previous customers. Scrambled eggs were rubbery and tasteless. Prime rib was unrecognizable—overdone and very little flavor. Bacon had been cooked much earlier and was soggy with grease. Waitress offered Carmel rolls for 6 and finally did bring them but not enough for everyone at the table. She apologized and said she would bring more but did not. For the $209 cost (without tip) it certainly was not worth it. The unfortunate incident with a food server (seizure) was very sad. The staff was superior in taking care of her until 911 responded!!!! My compliments to them for how they handled the situation.
Brunch buffet was not well stocked. Carving station wasn't open. Upcharge for fathers day but not as much selection and no carving station. Advertised different that what was provided. Bloody Mary was nothing like the picture on the menu. Much smaller and not as much garnish. Disappointing...
Took 23 minutes for a water refill
Server was new but tried very hard to meet our needs. He did a good job under the circumstances. Food was very average. Cold french fries and overall presentation of food was not not good. Probably won't go back.
Ordered all you can eat fish when came was 3 small pieces which wascold and greasy. Ordered more fish took 20 minutes again greasy. Cole slaw was maybe ounce and a half.
65th wedding anniversary.
We were able to make reservations which was a plus! Food was good, service was fine and they had some good specials.
Our waitress was not around to help us. Then scolded us for not flagging her down when we needed something.
I think our servers name was Amanda! She was fantastic and energetic even though she got hit with a rush! Most of us finished our plates and the food was very yummy. I would recommend eating near the windows if you can it’s nice and bright versus the dimmer dining room. I recommend the avocado grilled cheese!
Our server was very pleasant, I wanted a Bloody Mary, asked for it 3 times, but never got it. The food at the buffet was not hot, and some even cold when it should’ve been hot. The there were not quick to refill the food... there were just bits of ham and prime rib, and no one there to offer a slice. The first dish I picked at the buffet was dirty. I’ve usually had good experiences, so I was disappointed, but it was “Mother’s Day,” and is always a busy time.
Went to brunch here for Mother's Day. I was a little disappointed to see they had reduced the amount of food offerings on their Mother's Day brunch buffet as compared to their regular Lawless Brunch buffet. AND the prices were higher for Mother's Day. Disappointing.
Our service was good, food was average but pricey. Would I go again and would I recommend yes.
Their online menu of their brunch buffet doesn’t match what they have and the price is still the same.
As frequent diners at Granite City we are happy to recommend it. Our food was great, delivered quickly, and our server took great care of us.
Food and drinks were good, service was terrible. One waitress to handle bar area and all seating including outside seating. Shouldn't have to wait 20 min after food was served for staff to come by with catsup or another drink. Disappointed in service for sure.
Every time the food and service are above expectations.
Everything went smoothly, however I don’t feel we were checked on often enough. We found ourselves creating a list of things to ask about before our waitress came back next.
Two in are party got sick off of the food others must of hot sick to was notified by the local health department to fill out a survey for the place will never go back .
This was our families first visit to Granite City for Sunday brunch. Let’s just say, it definitely won’t be our last. It was AMAZING! The food variety was awesome. I loved that there were options for those who don’t eat meat. Our waitress was extremely attentive. It was a great way to spend Easter with my family.
Very good brunch
Super great food. Awesome service. Calming vibe.
We were seated at our appointed time, service was great and so was the food!!
One of our first times out since the pandemic hit.
Had an e-card from my step daughter for my birthday. The steak was delicious but overpriced. The green beans almandine was not eatable. It’s like they didn’t even cook them. Like eating raw green beans. The asparagus was just ok. We were not impressed. We will not be going back.
Sunday brunch is very good , wait staff very personable
We eat there at least once per week. Service is always great and the manager is very visible throughout the dining room and stops to visit occasionally. Food is always good and priced moderately.
The food was good and the was service fantastic. The convenience of reserving a table online is nice.
We eat here at least twice a month. Great food and service
The blueberry mojitos are a must have! We came for NYE dinner date and it was great! I love the variety of meals on the menu.
A couple of years ago I wrote a review of Granite City that wasn't exactly favorable.
On Christmas Eve of this year, we found ourselves back here, somewhat reluctantly but limited by choices due to the Covid...well everybody knows that story.
I am pleased to say that I was very surprised, pleasantly, by our experience. In my opinion they at some point got "back on track" instead of a sort of but not really sports bar.
Six diners, six different menu selections and all gave thumbs up for their meals from what has become a nicely diverse menu. Not haute' cuisine, but not Village Inn either. Some pretty good stuff there.
Service was good edging close to very good.
Have to say, it's worth a stop. The food now lives up to the building.
Serves were busy. Compete took a 35 minutes to make and deliver. It was not very good. Beef was cool and stale. No horsey sauce. End well done but too hard to cut with a knife.
Too expensive for the level of service.
Great, as always.
The staff was very friendly and worked very hard to make sure we were satisfied. We had the Sunday brunch where we walked through the line and tell them what we wanted and they dished it up and hand you the plates at the end of the line.
We attended the buffet. Really appreciated how attentive staff was to helping us go through the line. Kaci was a great waitress - very kind and attentive
Had a great time, a lot more food then I thought I would be getting, but it was worth every bit.
