Austin was very attentive. Prime rib was delicious.
Our server made a mistake in our order... brought part of our order and part of another table's order and blamed it on kitchen staff. He was not attentive....would refill one person's drink and not check on others. He didn't ask what size beer was wanted.
Took an extremely long time to get our appetizers.
Quality of food was lacking.
Brunch was delicious and worth the cost!
This was a fun place with a relaxing atmosphere and the food was great! Our server was attentive and friendly !
This was our first visit to GC in about 5 years. It seems as if the food quality and level of service has leveled off since then. We used to see GC as a step above the common steakhouses and Applebee’s, but they are now very similar. It wasn’t a poor experience, it just isn’t a step above the average competition like it used to be.
Food was great and service too.
Appetizers were great, entrees just ok. Our server was great but she was slammed, restaurant seemed understaffed and we had long delays.
This was our ten year high school reunion (yes, class of three). The food was good and we had great service. This was the first time I’ve had my temperature taken at a restaurant but the hostess was very kind.
I was a little confused by the gloves the servers were wearing. It’s not any cleaner when you touch peoples cards and money, grab food and drinks, and bring menus and utensils while wearing the same pair of gloves.
Overall, it was a good experience.
We know that we are not getting five star dining when we go to Granite City but we like the familiarity of it. This time however- we should have stayed home. The food was cold, it seemed to take way too long for a “sausage cheese egg biscuit” which actually showed up as a cheese and egg mc muffin. It just wasn’t good. It will be a while before we return.
This was the third day being opened after the lockdown. Not crowded this day. The waitress said the first day was very busy. The staff was masked and gloved. They disinfect the tables and booths between customers.
The Jambalala was very good. The salmon was excellent.
The Bennie (a bock beer) was good and I was surprized how good a deal it was.
Had a great meal with service that was attentive but not intrusive. Kudos!
this was our first time for brunch. the food was amazing and Christine was our server. She was very good.
We had a wonderful time. Making reservations is recommended. Food was great. The booths by the windows were spacious, but a little cool. I love Granite City, we will be back.
Some buffet items were not at correct temperature (mashed potatoes) or old/hard (French toast). Server was very friendly but not timely with requests.
We had a reservation for 6 at 11am; we showed up 10mins early and was told it would be 15mins or so. No big deal; until people after us where getting sat; and we could see a lot of clean tables; we finally got sat at 11:26am, and in our reservation asked for NO BOOTH. Guess where they tried to sit us; a booth. The girl who sat us got an attitude and said “welp; okay” and said you can sit here at the table and threw our silverware down and walked away. I’m pretty sure was a busser. But she was EXTREMELY RUDE.
Our waitress However was AMAZING and made sure everything was amazing. She treated my three year old amazing and our family well. The buffet was full of choices and was hot. I’m glad everything was good; the beginning was awful; but waitress single handily made sure everything was amazing. we might come and try this again!
Dinner was very good as was the service. I was a little disappointed that with a reservation we still waited 15 minutes to be seated. The best part of the experience was their mini desserts. At $2.99 they were just the right size to top off the meal, we didn't have to share which meant we each got what we wanted instead of trying to agree on one giant sized dessert.
Our evening at Granite City was very nice. The staff were very pleasant, very efficient & very accommodating. Both my husband’s meal and my meal were delicious. We always enjoy going to Granite City because their food is always good. The only complaint we have is the our table in the bar was very cold. It was table 90.
Valentines special was great, though the appetizers were very small.
The atmosphere was nice and the wait staff was courteous and attentive. I ordered the fish and chips and would probably not order them again. The fish portions were quite small and a bit over fried. My wife had the chicken and lime and it was fabulous. I have been to Granite City several time before and the food was always good.
Terrible night at Granite City. Only one waitress for one side of the restaurant, no drink refills and one of our four meals was wrong and cold. Didn’t get charged for the wrong and cold meal, but really ruined the night there. We made a reservation for 5:30 and the restaurant only had about 10% of the tables seated so this shouldn’t have been any troubles.
Food was good...service was good...booth near window was very cold, causing food to cool very quickly.
Good waitress but slow kitchen and decent food. Nothing to write home about
We really enjoy eating there anytime, but the Lawless Brunch is the best offering when you want choices.
Granite City had a wonderful special menu lined up for New Years Eve.
We started with the Fried Mushroom Risotto Balls... amazing!!!
My boyfriend got the Chicken Limone which was really good. And I got the Rosemary Honey Steak. The flavor of the steak was amazing. I was a little disappointed in the way it was cooked. One end of the steak was perfect and the other end was a bit overcooked and rubbery. Did end up leaving a few bites but ate as much as I could.
Dessert was carrot cake with a salted Carmel sauce... that was really good.
Overall service was awesome!
Had the german bock and it was amazing! We were greeted and seated promptly.
Appetizers and everyone's burgers were great. The shrimp tacos were overly spicy, and the prime rib sandwich was bland.
We've been to this location dozens of times, ordering off of the menu, and for Mother's Day and Easter brunches. Everything was excellent in all respects every time. All of which made the Christmas Eve buffet such a crushing disappointment. Food selection was minimal, and its temperature was warm, at best.
Service was great. Artichoke dip and the fish basket is what I ordered and it was both good. My wife had the shrimp fried rice and she said was just "ok".
We had only been here once before, and it was for their “Lawless Buffet”, so this was a normal meal. The food was quite good, but service was poorly paced so we ended up with appetizer, salad and entree all coming within minutes of each other. Following that, servers were pretty slow refilling water and even handling my bill.
Brunch is great. Bit on the pricey side, but everything tasted great. Go early is my recommendation.
We ordered 3 appetizers, spinach/artichoke dip, a pretzel & shoestring fries. All were quite good! Then we ordered sandwiches and 1 shrimp scampi. Everything was good! We’ll be back.
Boyfriend and I were visiting for the evening and I was much impressed!
Excellent food and service for a fair price. Highly recommend GC.
Bison burger was great: juicy and tender.
Best buffet in town. Bloody Mary to die for. Service was amazing
The only thing that I needed to make it the perfect brunch experience was blueberries. I thought you had blueberry mimosas but you no longer do. Would have loved fresh blueberries on the French toast. Although, as for the fruit bar, the pineapple was very delicious and my friend loved the strawberries. Blueberries just happen to be my favorite fruit.
The gentlemen at the egg and meat bar were very pleasant and accommodating. We were sat right by there, which was why the noise level was higher, but also why I can compliment them on their wonderful service, answering people's questions and serving with a smile.
I was curious why we had to wait quite a while to be seated when I had made reservations two days prior to be sure we wouldn't be late to a planned event that day, especially when we walked in to see the many open tables.
All in all, we enjoyed the brunch and had a fabulous experience that day.
Great food. Great service
The salmon was excellent but I've paid less for better burgers elsewhere.
Good menu but we just had a poor experience this time around. Service was very slow. We needed to get moving to get to a show at the Civic and it took about 20 minutes from when waitress cleared our plates to get our bill and another 10 minutes to get our credit card/receipts back. The steak on my wife's salad was all gristle (and for $18 we expected better), my french dip had spilled au jus on the plate to the bun of the sandwich was completely soggy and floppy. Refills were quite slow to arrive just for waters. Pretty disappointing.
The brunch was fantastic, a wide selection of food from typical breakfast to jumbo shrimp and prime rib. My entire family really enjoyed it.
