You could tell they were slightly short on staff but our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The Sunday brunch was delicious.
BrentT - Glad to hear you enjoyed your experience! Thanks for taking the time to share.
We had a great brunch! Our server was great and the food was delicious!
That's what we like to hear! Thanks for sharing.
I'm normally not one for buffets but everything except the scrambled eggs was excellent. I also never would have thought of jambalaya for breakfast but an omelet, homemade cinnamon roll with jambalaya was great.
KirkB - Glad to hear it! Thanks for taking the time to share your experience.
Drink way too expensive! Salad seemed smaller than usual.
Mary - Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We'll be sure to discuss these issues with the team.
Waitress was great
PatU - Glad to hear it! Thanks for taking the time to share your experience.
Went to Sunday brunch, seating was a little tight with table very near us. Good selection of items but you need to catch servers attention for extras. Miss having the salads on buffet
MBles - Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We'll be sure to let the team know. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and hope to see you again soon.
My daughter insisted that we go to GC for her birthday! Ashley and her crew never disappoint! Amazing food, service, and great place to either have a couple of beers or celebrate a birthday!
Tsan77 - Glad to hear it! Thanks for taking the time to share your experience.
First time there Sat in the bar service was great food was great will definitely return
Special fish and chips was fantastic. Three of us had it and all agreed. Also the atmosphere was upbeat and friendly. Front staff was friendly and seated our group of five in the best booth. Then our waitress was great, attentive to our requests yet not overbearing. Friendly atmosphere, fantastic food, great service - what else could you ask for.
We ate outside but saw zero employees wearing masks. Brunch buffet selections downgraded since the last time we were there. No fruit, salad, or vegetables. Service was slow even though they were not busy. And to top it off, I had stomach issues.
Had a great brunch
Food and service was great
first off our server was excellent/ But she was working multiple tables and serve was
very slow. Took > 15 minutes from sitting down till we were asked our drink order.
Took another 15 to get our appetizer! The restaurant was certainly NOT crowed for
a Saturday nite, otherwise I could understand. It is obvious that Granite City like
so many other restaurants must increase their wages to get more help.....and thus
prevent dissatisfied customers like me and my wife ( who was MUCH harder than me)
Great food and dining experience
Everything was good including the food. Maybe offer a non-alcoholic version of margarita or mimosa
We had Sunday brunch here and it was excellent! I highly recommend they’re caramel rolls!
They were out of quite a few things. The quality of food was poor. This was our second time here and the first time was the best.
Casual, family priced menu with choices to please all. The only disappointment was the unavailability of the beer we wanted.
Granite City puts on a wonderful Sunday brunch buffet. I'm so thankful that they were able to come up with a way to continue the brunch buffet this past year. Their food is good whenever you eat there, but the Sunday brunch is just a special treat. And the complimentary cinnamon rolls are out of this world good!!
Great atmosphere and great food and drink selection. Out service was top notch!
The service was terribly, terribly slow. I wondered if someone didn’t show or quit mid-shift? Only half the tables are open due to covid, so there’s no other reason to be so far behind. We had to wait to order and then the food came out so slow. The waiter told us the kitchen was behind - that explains the food part, not the service. The apps came out without app plates, but we were told they were coming. Good thing we didn’t wait long, because they never came. We used napkins for plates. My soup came out with my meal, so I had to rush eat that. Both boys burgers came out wrong. The first one I said was ok, he could pick off the veggies. The 2nd I said that would NOT work-there are tomatoes on the bun. I asked them to bring us a plain bun rather than remake the burger. They brought it out, not plain as requested, but with onion & lettuce. No one bothered to take the dirty app plates or menus, so I literally sat them on the floor next to me so we had room for our main dishes. The waiter came & asked if we wanted dessert. We said yes, but we weren’t 1/2 done with our food & weren’t quite ready. Then I guess he forgot, because the next time he was back, we were 100% done & ready to leave. Sad because we went out for my bday & intended to celebrate with a skillet cookie & ice cream.
Outside of all this, the women’s restroom was disgusting. 2 of the 4 stalls were unusable.
All menu items are fantastic. The idahoan nacho appetizer is the best. Anything you order will satisfy your taste buds. Enjoy, we did.
Bday and friends
Was my first time here for brunch. They were very courteous and conscious of covid protocol. Everyone was very nice and encouraging.
Food was awesome! It was quiet and lovely to have brunch with my family. Service was excellent and very attentive!
The food and the service were outstanding!
We met friends for a New Years Eve dinner. Service was fantastic. The food was fantastic. Everything about this visit was superb and we all (7 of us total) left pleased with the experience.
All in all, everyone was pleased with their food.
Austin was very attentive. Prime rib was delicious.
Our server made a mistake in our order... brought part of our order and part of another table's order and blamed it on kitchen staff. He was not attentive....would refill one person's drink and not check on others. He didn't ask what size beer was wanted.
Took an extremely long time to get our appetizers.
Quality of food was lacking.
Brunch was delicious and worth the cost!
This was a fun place with a relaxing atmosphere and the food was great! Our server was attentive and friendly !
This was our first visit to GC in about 5 years. It seems as if the food quality and level of service has leveled off since then. We used to see GC as a step above the common steakhouses and Applebee’s, but they are now very similar. It wasn’t a poor experience, it just isn’t a step above the average competition like it used to be.
Food was great and service too.
Appetizers were great, entrees just ok. Our server was great but she was slammed, restaurant seemed understaffed and we had long delays.
This was our ten year high school reunion (yes, class of three). The food was good and we had great service. This was the first time I’ve had my temperature taken at a restaurant but the hostess was very kind.
I was a little confused by the gloves the servers were wearing. It’s not any cleaner when you touch peoples cards and money, grab food and drinks, and bring menus and utensils while wearing the same pair of gloves.
Overall, it was a good experience.
We know that we are not getting five star dining when we go to Granite City but we like the familiarity of it. This time however- we should have stayed home. The food was cold, it seemed to take way too long for a “sausage cheese egg biscuit” which actually showed up as a cheese and egg mc muffin. It just wasn’t good. It will be a while before we return.
This was the third day being opened after the lockdown. Not crowded this day. The waitress said the first day was very busy. The staff was masked and gloved. They disinfect the tables and booths between customers.
The Jambalala was very good. The salmon was excellent.
The Bennie (a bock beer) was good and I was surprized how good a deal it was.
Had a great meal with service that was attentive but not intrusive. Kudos!
