The brunch buffet is really good. There was fruit, scones, croissants, mini muffins, salad, french toast, cheesy hashbrowns, bacon, sausage, and a prime rib station. You could get omelets or benedicts by ordering through your server, and caramel rolls are brought by your server, too! It was super loud and full. I'd recommend a reservation. Mimosas are $10 for all you can drink and they have a bloody mary menu where you get to choose your vodka, spice level, garnish, and beer chaser.
That all being said, our server was not great. She was friendly enough but complained almost immediately that she'd only had four hours of sleep before coming to work. She took our drink order (mimosa, bloody mary, and waters), our benedict and omelet order, and disappeared. We never got water and had to try to find her to get some. My husband's benedicts came, but no omelet for me. She never did get it and I never asked again.
Brunch was great and our server Brent was FABULOUS. try the cranberry mimosa!
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We always appreciate comments like these!
Brunch was delicious as always. We loved the special entrees, such as the barbecue pulled pork Mac and cheese. The adults and kids in our group loved the variety of food.
CodyG - Thank you for the great review! We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your experience at Granite City. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon.
Wife and I went there for our Anniversary. Flavorless buffet. Chalky powdered eggs. Prime Rib slices were soo fatty that all u got was maybe one small piece of meat. Ham on eggs Benedict was not Canadian bacon and was soo smoky it overpowered Benedict and hollandaise had no floor. Single meals I have ordered there in the past were good so I expected way better than that. Hash brown an bacon were good.
Our server was fantastic!!
She took great care of us, and was funny!
Service and food was fantastic. I felt the restaurants effort was demonstrated through the experience.
We were forgotten about a couple times. We asked for more coffee a couple times and she finally brought us some. We waited on some carmel rolls for the table and she forgot. She finally brought us some and they were all end pieces that were really dry and very little carmel sauce. The breakfast buffet had very good food. My eggs Benedict wasn't great the egg wasn't poached right the yolk was hard. Overall buffet was amazing but service wasn't that great nor the rolls.
My first time at the brunch was beyond amazing! The rolls were gooey and fantastic! And our waitress was spot on. But this visit wasn't worth the drive down from Grand Forks... I hope it was just this time. I'm willing to give it another shot.
When we received our meals, pastas, they were hot and nice and creamy. Not like it was dried out from sitting under a warmer. Two different pastas and both very tasty.
Great place great food. Great service. Loved it. Definitely recommend.
Had Sunday brunch with my daughter. Restaurant was or had been quite busy. A lot of empty tables not busted yet. Service was good. Ordered the brunch buffet. Quite a few of the food items had not been restocked for the lunch rush. Fresh fruit, muffins and pastries were empty. Overall the food was hot and good.
Food was a long time arriving, even appetizers. We were greeted immediately, but on a Friday night, I think the kitchen just couldn’t keep up.
The brunch food was not good. Food off the menu has always been delicious tho!
One of our group member's french fries were cold but they replaced them. Great Burger, Great deal on Burger Monday!
We actually went to this restaurant twice while we were in town. Once for dinner and drinks and on Sunday for the brunch. Everything we ate was spectacular. Chicken wings, pasta dishes, hamburgers... everything was great. The in-house created draft beers are also very good. The "Bock" was a perfect match to my dinner. The Sunday brunch with mimosas was amazing. Made to order omelettes, prime rib, french toast, bacon and sausage and the most incredible Reggiano hash browns that I have ever had in my life, and I have had a lot of hash browns. Then you add unlimited mimosas and we could not have asked for a better start to our Sunday.
Loved the brunch. The mimosas where great just very busy and waited a while in line for food.
Great staff / food was very good.
we had reservations at 7 got our appetizers at 810. we had to ask where our appetizers were, along with our meal. we received our meal at 830 3/4 of us, everyone was finished eating before the last plate was brought out. Our waitress did not communicate any of what was going on or what the problem was, the manager was helpful after the fact, it was terrible service, and could have communicated better as they were busy and we were sympathetic to that, but nothing till we complained.
Very professional handling of COVID-19 safety measures still in effect. The brunch was super tasty and enjoyable and we had a really friendly and knowledgeable server.
We were seated within minutes of arriving at our reserved time. All staff was friendly, and the food was delicious.
As always it was a great time (my third time coming in). The food was wonderful and the bottomless mimosas made it even better. It was a bit loud but it was also packed. Definitely will go again.
Asked to be seated in dining room and was sat in bar
Waitress told us specials but when she brought the ticket notices the price was different. When we asked about it she said oh I thought it was Friday. Also asked for condiments and she didn’t bring them ti I was 3/4 through my meal. Forgot part of another order brought after everyone was done eating and still charged for it
Beer selection was on point.
We're from out of town & couldn't be at home with our family for Thanksgiving. Made a reservation through Open Table for the traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Was ignored the first 5 minutes or so upon checking in. Finally the hostess asked if she could help us. I explained we had a reservation at 6 for 2 people. She asked name, then said she couldn't find me. I offered her the confirmation number in my email. She said she will get us seated without a reservation. We get seated, a young woman gets our drink orders & tells us she's not our server, Johnathan is but he's on break? Finally Johnathan comes over. We tell him we want the Thanksgiving dinner. He brings us a salad. (My drink is half empty) He clears salad plates (drink is still half empty). Brings main course. (Drink is even lower) . Then I asked if they had any bread and to get more mr pibb, 12 minutes later I get hard rolls by this time I've already finished my meal & don't need the rolls. DRINK IS EMPTY. He came up, I asked for the bill, he looks annoyed. He gets the ticket. We pay. I talked to the women at the front desk. They weren't helpful. A weak Apology but an apology. the food was actually good. Being we wanted a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, we got it, definitely not worth the price of $27 a person. And there wasn't a dessert or at least we weren't told about/offered one. Thankful we were able to have a Thanksgiving dinner but that was kind of ruined bc of the way less than stellar service. Definitely wouldn't recommend based on service alone.
wait time was minimal, the food was absolutely incredible! Some of the best food my wife and I have ever had and the happy hour prices were pretty awesome!!
Cold food and lousy service.
The server said that because we didn’t get our appetizer until after 6pm, it wasn’t discounted. We actually ordered it at 5:30 and received it at 5:54 (had a text come in as soon as we received it). She argued with me about it...between that and the loudness, and let’s be honest, mediocre food, we won’t be going back.
We had an excellent meal with great service. It was a nice evening and we enjoyed the outdoor patio.
Father’s Day brunch and the crew at granite city knocked it out of the park as usual
The staff was so friendly & attentive from the moment we entered the restaurant. We received some kind of service from at least 5 different staff & they were all great. Really great lunch.
It was enjoyable to be out again and in such a welcoming and delicious place to have brunch. We really enjoyed our servers and the food brought directly to our table. Much more than we could possibly eat so they let us bring it home for more meals. We will be back again soon🥳
Thanks so much for coming in! Can't wait to see you again soon!!
I thought brunch was good but not worth the price. I went specifically for the prime rib. I understand that many prefer their meat raw, but i'm one of the few that likes it cooked. I asked for an end piece, and it was rare. When i cook prime rib, mine goes from medium-well to rare in middle. Not rare to raw. That was my only complaint. Had there had been a microwave to cook it more, i would have been good. 18$ a person for eggs and bacon is kinda spendy.
Honestly it's an ok restaurant the food is pretty good. Best apps in town! And if you get them on sale even better 👍
The reason for 3 stars is the service it's always just been ok, but our last visit had me livid!
We went at 8:45 sunday evening, the door said open till 10, so we wanted to get a bunch off appetizers and the cookie dessert (I live for the cookie dessert ) it took a long time to be seen at the front door and even longer for a server to come take our order. Finally we ordered and got our food. At around 9:20 a server started putting up all the chairs around us. It felt like they where kicking us out, I asked the server when they closed and he confirmed 10:00 then informed us the kitchen closed at 9:00!!!!
We wanted to get a few more appetizers and the cookie dessert (the main reason we go here).
IF YOUR DOOR SAYS CLOSE AT 10:00 THEN YOU CLOSE AT 10:00! At the very least we should have been told at 9:00 that it would be our last chance to order food, because we would have. This was the most unprofessional and disappointing evening out.
Food is average but when you wait an hour to receive it the taste doesn’t matter.
Waited what seemed like forever to get our food. Food came out cold, served on a stone cold plate. Got food remade & it still came out cold & on a cold plate. Found a hair in my drink. The women who seated us seemed like she was completely out of it. They weren't even busy so I'm not sure why everything took so long.
I don’t understand the point of making reservations if the hostess is still going to seat people ahead of you. Our reservation was for 11:15 and we weren’t seated until 11:30. I watched several people get seated ahead of me and it was very frustrating.
Im very sorry to hear that we missed your reservation time. With busy holidays like Valentines Day we try our best to accommodate to everyone and get everyone their tables on time, but it sounds like we were running behind. I sincerely apologize for my team dropping the ball, I do hope that you will try us again soon and let us make it up to you! Mallory Stier Service Manager
Our server was nice, but kind of an airhead. He took our appetizer order and forgot to take our entree order. Appetizers came cold and had sat under the lamp too long (waffle nachos).
We are so sorry to hear this! I would love to get a little more information from you so that i can try to make this right! Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org Mallory Stier Service Manager
The food is very good. He had made a reservation approximately 2 weeks in advance for Valentine's Day. However, when we arrived, we still had to wait. We were able to find a couple of seats in the bar. When we were told our table was ready, that sat us at a hightop 2 person table...in the bar...right across where we just were. Not very romantic, or quiet. The bartender (Cody?) was very attentive, great service. The waiter we had when we were moved to the 2-top was not very good. He walked by an empty glass at the edge of the table 4 times before the bartender cleared it. Out appetizers took over 1/2 hour to come out and were barely warm. It took a long time to get our main course, and again, moderately warm. BTW, our waiter wasn't the one who brought out our food. We saw him at the beginning, after our main course was brought out, and when we flagged him down and had asked for a dessert to go along with the tab. The evening would have been a complete disappointment if the bartender hadn't been great. The food tasted good, just wish it would have been warm, and when I make a reservation, I had hoped we would have had a table in the restaurant.
Angela, I am so sorry to hear that you did not have a wonderful experience on Valentines Day with us. When it comes to a holiday like this we do our very best to get everyone a table in accordance to their reservation but we dropped the ball on this night for you folks. I would love to try and make it right for you, please contact me at email@example.com. I look forward to hearing from you! Mallory Stier Service Manager
My wife and I went to Granite City for a valentine’s dinner special. Food was wonderful. Service was good but our waitress was very busy. Halfway through our meal they seated a 10 year old hockey team and their families directly beside us. Probably 40 people, most of them young boys. We never saw our waitress again. Everyone in the restaurant finished quickly and left. We had to go the hostess to get our bill and when we got it it was wrong. We won’t be going back. They did nothing to make our special dinner special.
