We had an excellent meal with great service. It was a nice evening and we enjoyed the outdoor patio.
Father’s Day brunch and the crew at granite city knocked it out of the park as usual
The staff was so friendly & attentive from the moment we entered the restaurant. We received some kind of service from at least 5 different staff & they were all great. Really great lunch.
It was enjoyable to be out again and in such a welcoming and delicious place to have brunch. We really enjoyed our servers and the food brought directly to our table. Much more than we could possibly eat so they let us bring it home for more meals. We will be back again soon🥳
Thanks so much for coming in! Can't wait to see you again soon!!
I thought brunch was good but not worth the price. I went specifically for the prime rib. I understand that many prefer their meat raw, but i'm one of the few that likes it cooked. I asked for an end piece, and it was rare. When i cook prime rib, mine goes from medium-well to rare in middle. Not rare to raw. That was my only complaint. Had there had been a microwave to cook it more, i would have been good. 18$ a person for eggs and bacon is kinda spendy.
Honestly it's an ok restaurant the food is pretty good. Best apps in town! And if you get them on sale even better 👍
The reason for 3 stars is the service it's always just been ok, but our last visit had me livid!
We went at 8:45 sunday evening, the door said open till 10, so we wanted to get a bunch off appetizers and the cookie dessert (I live for the cookie dessert ) it took a long time to be seen at the front door and even longer for a server to come take our order. Finally we ordered and got our food. At around 9:20 a server started putting up all the chairs around us. It felt like they where kicking us out, I asked the server when they closed and he confirmed 10:00 then informed us the kitchen closed at 9:00!!!!
We wanted to get a few more appetizers and the cookie dessert (the main reason we go here).
IF YOUR DOOR SAYS CLOSE AT 10:00 THEN YOU CLOSE AT 10:00! At the very least we should have been told at 9:00 that it would be our last chance to order food, because we would have. This was the most unprofessional and disappointing evening out.
Food is average but when you wait an hour to receive it the taste doesn’t matter.
Waited what seemed like forever to get our food. Food came out cold, served on a stone cold plate. Got food remade & it still came out cold & on a cold plate. Found a hair in my drink. The women who seated us seemed like she was completely out of it. They weren't even busy so I'm not sure why everything took so long.
I don’t understand the point of making reservations if the hostess is still going to seat people ahead of you. Our reservation was for 11:15 and we weren’t seated until 11:30. I watched several people get seated ahead of me and it was very frustrating.
Im very sorry to hear that we missed your reservation time. With busy holidays like Valentines Day we try our best to accommodate to everyone and get everyone their tables on time, but it sounds like we were running behind. I sincerely apologize for my team dropping the ball, I do hope that you will try us again soon and let us make it up to you! Mallory Stier Service Manager
Our server was nice, but kind of an airhead. He took our appetizer order and forgot to take our entree order. Appetizers came cold and had sat under the lamp too long (waffle nachos).
We are so sorry to hear this! I would love to get a little more information from you so that i can try to make this right! Please contact us at email@example.com Mallory Stier Service Manager
The food is very good. He had made a reservation approximately 2 weeks in advance for Valentine's Day. However, when we arrived, we still had to wait. We were able to find a couple of seats in the bar. When we were told our table was ready, that sat us at a hightop 2 person table...in the bar...right across where we just were. Not very romantic, or quiet. The bartender (Cody?) was very attentive, great service. The waiter we had when we were moved to the 2-top was not very good. He walked by an empty glass at the edge of the table 4 times before the bartender cleared it. Out appetizers took over 1/2 hour to come out and were barely warm. It took a long time to get our main course, and again, moderately warm. BTW, our waiter wasn't the one who brought out our food. We saw him at the beginning, after our main course was brought out, and when we flagged him down and had asked for a dessert to go along with the tab. The evening would have been a complete disappointment if the bartender hadn't been great. The food tasted good, just wish it would have been warm, and when I make a reservation, I had hoped we would have had a table in the restaurant.
Angela, I am so sorry to hear that you did not have a wonderful experience on Valentines Day with us. When it comes to a holiday like this we do our very best to get everyone a table in accordance to their reservation but we dropped the ball on this night for you folks. I would love to try and make it right for you, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to hearing from you! Mallory Stier Service Manager
My wife and I went to Granite City for a valentine’s dinner special. Food was wonderful. Service was good but our waitress was very busy. Halfway through our meal they seated a 10 year old hockey team and their families directly beside us. Probably 40 people, most of them young boys. We never saw our waitress again. Everyone in the restaurant finished quickly and left. We had to go the hostess to get our bill and when we got it it was wrong. We won’t be going back. They did nothing to make our special dinner special.
Buffet had so many empty pans. The room was VERY crowded. Wait staff harried and hurried. Reservation not kept but offered a booth for a handicapped person. Won't return
Very busy and crowded. Over head music was too much. Slow service but good food.
Visited 6 pm on New Year’s Eve. There were quite a few people waiting to be seated, and we were glad we had booked a reservation thru Open Table. Beer and food were very good. Fish and chips and the steak salad. It just took a while to get them, and did not see much of our server during the time we were there. I think she was really busy and they could have used a more help. We had to wait quite a while for ketchup condiment and a refill on a glass of water. Would try it again...
I’ve always liked Granite City, however, this experience was not at all impressive. The food was cold, my daughter’s chicken was burnt. My other daughter got the wrong food, took another 20 minutes to get correct food order. Wasn’t really happy! And this supper was a gathering of 8 relatives to celebrate at Christmas time. I was very disappointed.
Food was fabulous and the staff was wonderful!! Glad we chose have punch there!!
Terrible service. Apps came out after food. Never came around for drink refills.
Good food, comfy atmosphere, great for a family outing.
They did not honor our reservation through Open Table. We did not get to eat there.
They changed the brucheta salad, why change something that was already amazing. Very diappointed , Beet could be colder.
It was not good. Good was cold. Service was poor. Kitchen was disgusting and when you came out of the washroom you had a clear view of it. Spoke with manager and she was good at compensating us but it was a huge disappointment.
They made our five year anniversary amazing! Everything about the night was on fire!
Extremely mediocre experience. We came for Sunday brunch, probably our third time here for brunch and definitely our last. Nothing terrible, just incredibly mediocre. There’s got to be somewhere else for brunch in Fargo/Moorhead.
Our waiter was awesome! The food was as always great and will be back to Granite City doin.
Great service, great food! Would highly recommend.
We sat out on the patio for our lunch. Our waitress was awesome! She offered help to one our party in picking out her food. Everyone was happy with their food and our beverages kept filled.
We heard so many great things about brunch at GC but won’t waste our time or money to go again. Food was mediocre and prices were high. Drinks all came late and at different times. Overall a disappointing and expensive experience.
We had brunch on Sunday. It was not as good as it has been in years past but it was ok. The egg station was fun with eggs benedict or omelets.
A nice brunch. Great service but the food was just ok. The buffet/brunch is very large, but nothing in the food made it great and it is expensive.
You pay 30 bucks for the saltiest Ribeye you will ever have in your life, that's way under cooked and then the fried were cooked an hour ago
Granite City was recommended by a friend, so we came for my wife's birthday. We came early in the evening at around 5. It was really disappointing.
The guacamole was off, and when my mom asked for something to put on the burger because it was pretty dry, one of the waiters (not our assigned one) said there should be guacamole. When my mom said it was off and tasted bad, he just kind of shrugged his shoulders.
Food was mediocre and pretty greasy. We had the pork tacos, fish and chips, a turkey burger.
My son ordered mac&cheese, and they served reheated kraft mac and cheese out of a box type.
I feel like they could do a lot better. All in all, service was pretty sloppy, food quality was lacking and really didn't meet our expectations at all for a nicer sit-down restaurant in Fargo.
Great food great atmosphere great service. Took some relatives that are new to town and they enjoyed also
Good food as usual but my only complaint is about their eggs benedict station. They should consider having them already prepped with the sauce on top and served along with all the other buffet items. Not only will it give the omelette station person a break but overcooking of the yolks while it continually sits in hot water waiting to be assembled is prevented. Even the bacon used for the benedict was sitting in hot water and turned to be very rubbery and tasteless.
I've seen other buffets have them already prepped and ready to go and they're almost always delicious.
In the past few years there has been a decline in the food you get for the price you pay. Many items are over cooked (like they’ve been under a heat lamp for way too long) and the service is okay at best. You can’t serve less food at poorer quality while increasing prices and think customers won’t notice. Disappointing. I don’t go to GC very often anymore because of that
Sandwich was delicious and the kettle style potato chips were seasoned just right. I would return to Granite City again. Husband enjoyed his sandwich and side dish also. It was a little noisy where we were seated so hard to have a conversation.
Our group of seven was seated at a table with room for six near the kitchen. Extra chair on the end made every passing person bump into the chair, including patrons going to the restroom, servers going to the kitchen. Finally, after complaining to hostess, our group was moved to a larger table. Ordering food... server came back to announce that any salads would wait for 30 minutes or more. Out of meatloaf. Out of other items our group had ordered. Many empty tables visible, so why the long wait to be served? Our food arrived ONE HOUR after placing order. Don't bother doing an online reservation. We arrived early and watched "walk-ins" being seated as we had to wait for our reservation time. Server was cordial. One person in our party was celebrating a birthday and the server did surprise us with a cookie with an ice cream scoop. This was our first time at this establishment. Gonna be a long time before we try again.
Food was cold or luke warm at best. Fries on nachos were burnt but cold. The fried cauliflower had an awful sauce that was not listed on the menu. The cauliflower pieces were so big that they were actually raw. The steak was undercooked. THEN to top it off my gift card for $100 only showed a credit of $50.....I was told by the manager that $50 was used in Troy Michigan......not possible! I have never been to Troy Michigan plus, the gc never left my house until June 16th! The manager finally decided to credit me the $50 explaining that it must have been an employee's error in Michigan.
Our food and experience was less than acceptable or enjoyable.
We enjoyed the Father’s Day Brunch. The food and service was fantastic!
