The Sunday brunch is absolutely amazing! I'm glad we arrived as soon as they opened.
Interesting evening with lots of teenagers in formal gowns and tuxedos populating the restaurant, presumably as the first stage in prom night festivities. Perhaps this was why the wait staff seemed just a bit rushed and harried. I liked my meat loaf very much, my dining mates felt their meals were good, but none were outstanding. I am also still a fan of their beer selections, though the seasonal amber is the best and was not an option this weekend.
We had a great dinner experience this weekend. Great food and service!
Very disappointed. We were seated in the bar, which was very loud. I noticed the dining room had several tables open.
Had the funkey monkey cocktail. A little too pricey for me ($8), but so good. tastes like strawberry lemonade. the steak salad was one of the best salads I have ever had, the horseradish was awesome in it.
Our server Erica was quite a delight. Knew the menu well, and served us with a smile. She also introduced me to Granite City dip ... I’m now obsessed! Thanks! Hope we have you as a server next time as well.
Granite City Brewery is good, but not great. They were out of 3 beers that were on the menu and we wanted to try--kept picking one and being told "nope" they were out of that. That was disappointing. I can understand 1, but 3? Come on. Food was good, but not out of this world. Good thing it's not that expensive. If you want good standard fare, it works.
The food is good but the Service was excessively slow. It took nearly 20 minutes to get a beer and about the same time to be able to pay the cashier. 6:30 reservation and we were sat upon arrival however it was after 8 when our table of six was finished.
Dinner experience was mostly good. We had the fish and chips. The frys came out cold but the waitress was happy with replacing them. The fish was great, and hot. The coleslaw on the plate sits under the warmer with the rest of the plate once the food is done so no one at that as it was UGH. Brand new waitress but she admitted it and we were ok with it, we all start new at some job sometime. Overall very good
My friends and I arrived at 6 PM on a Friday night. The restaurant was busy but we were given a comfortable table without any problems. Our waitress was accommodating to our inability to choose quickly between the items on the excellent menu. We greatly appreciated the stacked onion rings because they were cooked perfectly, the onion did not slip out of batter. Flatbread pizza was our favorite along with the pasta and asparagus. We are looking forward to coming back.
I had the prime rib sandwich. It was mediocre. Not much flavor and some gristle. The Duke IPA was pretty good. Server goofed up my order.
The only thing good about Friday was our waiter. I think his name was Dustin. He was very friendly
and outgoing. The food was not good compared to other times I have been to Granite City. We were
stuck in the back room as the place was packed. A man was in trying to get tv's to work. It was just
a weird environment.
First time we had been to Granite City and I don't this we will ever return. The food was over priced for the quality and the drinks came out 20+ minutes after we had ordered them. I know it can get busy and hectic, but when the table next to you orders the same drink 10 minutes after you did and they got theirs quickly, than it's a bit disappointing and not to mention for the price I paid. The server was great and very attentive!
Amanda is always awesome! Shes very nice and just a great server, I look forward to having her as a server.
Good food and Haley took very good care of us. We will come back.
The place is a little pricey, but if you go when they are having a special , it is great. The food is delicious and the brews are as well. Great place.
Good food. Great service! Hadn't been here in a long time & it was better than I remembered
Had a reservation for 6:30, yet was made to stand and wait for a table for 15 minutes. They put us at a table surrounded by two large groups and an air vent blowing out cold air. We were forced to sit with our coats on. When our food finally arrived we asked for boxes to go because we couldn’t take the noise or cold any longer. The waitress seemed bent out of shape because of it. Like it was our fault. This isn’t our first bad experience here, but we decided to try again. We will never return.
It was very nice and the experience was great once again. Waiter was awesome and food delicious.
Ray, our server, was great! The value of the meal was also very good. Thanks
We were seated immediately. The service was excellent and the server was very pleasant. The food quality was definitely 5 star and they handled our special requests in a friendly and pleasant manner. My wife and I loved it. I liked being able to make the reservation on line and I even got a E mail the day before our reservation so that I could confirm my reservation. Very easy.
Food was OK, service was not that great in beer was expensive.
We were at GC for brunch. Great inlet station, decent entrees. They lack in variety - no salads, no desert items, a couple lunch entree's. The fruit was really picked over. Great cinnimon rolls. Eggs Benedict station was decent.
It was fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Haven’t ever had a bad meal here.
Great food, beverages, venue.
Maybe review the "children in the bar area" policy.
Young children with noisy electronic devices was quite unsettling.
Great service, fast and efficient. Friendly and attentive. Food was great, prepared perfectly and hot when served.
Appetizer was cold, green beans where cold , but the server was great
The service wasn’t the best. Waited a long time for our food. She forgot my drink. The waitress never checked on us after we received it. Also had to wait a long time for our check. Food was tasty, atmosphere was great.
Granite City has good quality beer. And for that they get loud obnoxious people. When you make a reservation several days in advance and you note that it will be a family dinner. With a child. And they seat you next to the bar. And say that’s all that’s available. And then we order our food and appetizers and they all came at the same time. Food was average at best and service was less than that. I won’t be coming back with family again. Very disappointed!!!! Was a mug club member!!
In the reservation I said 6 adults plus 2 highchairs and one booster seat and it was just a table for 6 but it was along the kitchen wall and a walkway so they said they couldn't add the highchairs to the ends and therefore all of the kids had to sit on our lap until right as the food came, the table by us opened up and we were able to turn them... it was quite disappointing. Otherwise it was good.
Quality of food was unsatisfactory. I had fish and chips ...the fish was very greasey I did not finish the fish.
I will not return in the future.
The buffet is too expensive. Other than that I like Granite City.
Always liked Granite City, but over time the restaurant is slowly going down hill. Service was fantastic, but the food wasn't. Prime Rib on the sandwich was overcooked and lukewarm and the bbq flatbread pizza was just warm, not very hot. The bad part was the prime rib sandwich, a lot more bun than meat, and what meat there was was overdone. I would not recommend this sandwich.
I love your restaurant but this last visit was not so good. We had 6 in our party arrived at 12:30 and didn't get out of there until 2:30. We had to wait awhile to put our order in and then for our food and it took a long time after they cleared our dishes for us to get out bill. I went to the bathroom and seen our waiter in the kitchen there were only about 3 other tables busy in the whole place at this time. Flavor of food was good but soup was not hot. Sorry to complain.
I have been to granite city many times and it is usually an awesome experience. We went for our anniversary though and the food took forever. The steak was over cooked and there was a group of 4 teenagers with a laser pointer throwing food at each other. I was expecting a more private quiet dinner instead it was really loud and felt like I was at a bar or something. Also they changed the menu a little and I order the salmon almost every time. It usually comes with white rice and asparagus and they changed it to cauliflower rice and I didn’t know they changed the menu so that kinda sucked. Hopefully this was just a one time experience.
Absolutely loved Granite City. Great food, cocktails, and service. 10/10 would recommend.
I recent went to Granite City for my 21st birthday and the service was very friendly and inviting I Tried the maple pepper burger and it was delicious!! Overall great place to go to. Will definitely come back!
We made a reservation for 8:00 pm. We checked in at 7:45 pm and were not seated until 8:20 pm. We ordered an appetizer and it came out 30 seconds before the meal. We were not happy with the service at all.
Finally vegan options! Keep them coming! Buffalo cauliflower wings were excellent.
