About Grange

Located in downtown Sacramento, America's Farm to Fork Capital, Grange is a culinary expression of all things local, reflecting the authentic essence and soul of the community.

The menu showcases the market-driven bounties from the state and is best described as simple, seasonal and soulful. Organically raised meats and poultry are complemented with the freshest produce available from the Central Valley, while sustainable coastal seafood is paired with a spectacular all-California wine list. The entrees are presented in a straightforward American brasserie style. Lastly, enjoy the creations from our pastry chef such as rustic artisan breads and desserts.

This Sacramento restaurant’s setting is both classic and authentic. The two-story space combines architectural elements from the building’s rich history with exposed beams and concrete columns to create a surprising and urban, loft-like atmosphere.

We stayed at the Citizen Hotel and ended up eating both dinner and breakfast at Grange. We found it to have excellent food, drinks, service and atmosphere and would most definitely eat there again if we are ever in the area. Within walking distance to Golden One!

Food was not memorable, was just ok. Our waiter was professional and extremely friendly and welcoming. Our service was also prompt and attentive. We have enjoyed beautiful delicious dishes in the past but this visit was disappointing.

I had not been to the Grange in probably three years. The food was terrific and the service was fantastic. We were eating before going to see a show. I probably go to Mulvaney’s s more than anywhere else, but I have to say that this was a very nice evening out.

A lovely restaurant! My best friend and have season tickets to the Broadway Series and have decided to eat our throw downtown. The Grange came highly recommend and it did not disappoint! The food was wonderful! Coffee and dessert end the meal. I would like to say some fine restaurants don’t understand the the coffee they serve is just as important as the food & wine. There is very fine restaurant down the street from the Grange whose coffee is like colored water! It ruined the dining experience!

Now the service we received was top notch. Our waiter was funny and made great recommendations.

Can’t wait to try brunch!

We came in for brunch on a Saturday. We were seated promptly and our server was attentive. Honestly both my fiancé and I were unimpressed with the food. My huevos rancheros meal was good but not any better than the ones I have gotten elsewhere. My fiancé felt his avocado toast was bland. Maybe it was just what we ordered but in our opinions it wasn’t worth the hype.

The perfect dinner and drinks after a matinee Musical. So relaxing to have a drink in the bar before dinner. Once at our table, our waiter (Roger) was so experienced and friendly. Could answer all our questions about the menu. The food was excellent. We started with clams as an appetizer and then scallops and house made fettucini followed by orange beignets and espresso. Can't wait until the next time!

Great experience at Grange and our waiter ‘Mark’ was exceptional with the right amount of conversation, information and professionalism (knowing when to oversee the table vs. letting us talk). It’s also not too noisy which helped create the right ambience for a business lunch.

Maybe it was just an "off" night. The restaurant wasn't overly busy, and yet the cocktail I ordered at the table (from the bar) was noticeably slow in arriving. Food was excellent. I ordered an espresso after dinner, and it again was really slow to arrive and not hot, just warm. So it seems that the slowdown was coming from the bar.

A delightful dining experience. Nice wine/cocktail selection. My husband had the rib eye, cooked perfectly, accompanied by tender, yet not overly soft broccoli, and beef fat potatoes. Wow were they good! I've avoided scallops the past few years, because they never seem to be cooked properly. I'm so glad I decided to give them another try: perfectly seared, tender, and juicy inside topped with delicious mustard seed sauce. Orange ricotta beignets melted in my mouth, and hubby enjoyed a chocolate caramel piece of perfection. Our waitress was attentive, without being intrusive.
Breakfast here also was delicious starting with deep, rich coffee and one of the best Bloody Marys I've ever had: salted rim, assortment of pickled vegs, lemon, lime, cucumber & bacon! Avocado toast topped with perfectly poached eggs was light yet filling. Hubby enjoyed the hearty, stick-to-your-ribs breakfast burger.
We will definitely dine at Grange again.

Food was wonderful. Poke was very good and the scallops were perfectly prepared. We both had our own braised greens with a soft egg on top which was spicy and oh so delicious. Nice wine choices . Service was not impressive. Our server made us feel we were annoying him with the questions we had about the menu. I asked to be served the kale salad first, then poke and braised greens after my salad. I was served my salad, but the poke was "lost" so I had to wait while my husband was served his scallops. Getting the attention of our server was almost impossible. He didn't even realize my poke had not been served. When we received our bill, we had been charged for another table's cocktails. When we brought it to Matt's attention, he mumbled something about the table next to us also ordering poke. Excuse me?

Grange was our favorite restaurant in Sacramento until last Monday. We bragged about this place to our friends and when we got our food we were embarrassed in front of our guests. 3 of us ordered Steel-head salmon and we all got the tail( the last tiny part of the fish). the fish was thin and overcooked. It was served on the tiny sauce which I believe it was Cauliflower base and some pear and other fruits which was not much. I am glad we ordered appetizers, which all were good, otherwise, we all would be hungry after the meal. We are sad that this place is changing and hoping that they get a better management, that might help.

Interesting preparations which were delicious. Specialty side dish of brussels sprouts was quite good, even though Brussels sprouts is not my favorite vegetable. I had an order of steamed clams which was wonderful and such a large portion that I could not finish it. I started with a flatbread with butternut squash hummus, olive tempenade, and french mushroom pate. Very unusual. Service was very good. I will return the next time I visit Sacramento.

The service was very friendly and knowledgeable, the food was creative and delicious, and when our server found out it was our anniversary and we passed on dessert, he still brought a sample of sorbet on a decorative anniversary plate to celebrate which was very thoughtful. This is now my favorite foodie restaurant!

Second time I've been to Grange. Enjoyed it immensely. My daughter had the French fries with horseradish/sour crème. Would highly recommend. I had the pork chop which was delicious but somewhat overpriced. The service was wonderful from all the servers. Will definitely come again when being at the convention center or attending a musical.

Came here for breakfast, had a pleasant meal. My partner and I ordered the waffles and eggs Benedict, respectively. The eggs were cooked nicely, the hollandaise was light and tart, and the back bacon was high-quality and very flavorful. The potatoes were lightly crisped and mixed with sweet potatoes, which was a nice. Still just the usual kind-of-dry breakfast potatoes, though. Not especially creative, but it was a very solid version of a breakfast staple that many places either mess up or don't care to do well.

We tried this restaurant after reading some reviews and it sounded interesting. Boutique hotel with a restaurant. Well we were more than satisfied with our choice. The high ceilings and decor was quality simplistic. The bar was active when we walked in but we wanted a quiet dinner and were seated at a great table. Immediately water was served and then along came Roger, our server. Not pushy at all, informative, and took our cocktail order and left us to enjoy that. We decided we were going to eat family style, my husband and I share most everything now. We started with the tomato salad, delicious and fresh, then the ribeye, medium with beef fat potatoes. A complete winner all around. The steak was perfectly cooked. During our dinner, which I always post on my FB, a friend advised that the chef Oliver G. Ridgeway participated in Pebble Beach Food and Wine. Now you have to be pretty top notch to be invited there. So, please go and enjoy

Heard a lot about this place, so we went in with some big expectations.. Sydney was our server and she was great, atmosphere great, we just didn't really like the food to be honest. We got the half chicken and the lamb, both were just decent and the flavors just didn't go well together. YET I can't lie, both dishes were cooked perfectly. Just wasn't our taste. Dessert was the best part by far! Peach cobbler was BOMB!

Great atmosphere, and very nice cocktails. Food was good but not amazing. Can't help but compare to Ella or Bandera where the food is more reliably delicious. Prices here are high. Service was slow. Bar was slow, so wine came well after main course was eaten. Still, good place if you're looking for an upscale, fun place that feels like a high-end San Francisco restaurant. I will definitely be back for another old fashioned.

Quite possibly the absolute best in Sacramento. Not cheap, but not too crazy. I spent $150 + tip, but that was enough to overfeed three of us. Try it.
