About
The menu showcases the market-driven bounties from the state and is best described as simple, seasonal and soulful. Organically raised meats and poultry are complemented with the freshest produce available from the Central Valley, while sustainable coastal seafood is paired with a spectacular all-California wine list. The entrees are presented in a straightforward American brasserie style. Lastly, enjoy the creations from our pastry chef such as rustic artisan breads and desserts.
This Sacramento restaurant’s setting is both classic and authentic. The two-story space combines architectural elements from the building’s rich history with exposed beams and concrete columns to create a surprising and urban, loft-like atmosphere.
The chef made me a custom vegan meal! It was delicious. The flavor was outstanding. I really appreciated the effort.
Great food from the kitchen under Dane, and amazingly fine service from Eddie. All in all, a truly memorable dining experience. The selection of wines by the glass is limited but rewarding.
Delicious food and fabulous service!!!
Fun place and great location with good service and food. We will be back!
Wine was overprices and some of the food we got was substandard. The scallops were old. We returned them and they did not charge us.
Reconnecting with a friend.
Let me start off by saying the service was awesome, it is one of the reasons I gave them 4 stars.
Now on to the food... The Sake Clams, Hamachi Crudo, and Crispy Calamari Melon Salad, started the meal off with great expectations. All were delicious and would recommend trying. But the main courses and dessert let you down and disappointed. My dinning partner had the duck breast although good, he stated it wasn't executed as expected. I had the short ribs, which lacked flavor, and was a bit over cooked for my taste, the saving grace on the plate was the sweet potato mousseline which was divine. For dessert we had the grange bar, all I can say I wouldn't put my name on it. The presentation was nice but the use of to much gelatin made the texture unbearable.
Great location
Very noisy
Food was great, our server was good but our bartender was rude to one of our guest, my husband and friend were taken back at the way she spoke to them. This was 9/14/2019 around 7:30PM-8PM.
Slow service. Drinks and appetizers took way too long to arrive. One entree (snapper) was great, but other (gnocchi) was served lukewarm. For price, expected outstanding service too.
It was out tenth anniversary. We had our first date here. Was great to be back to celebrate our special occasion.
Great atmosphere. Nice cocktails. The food menu was limited. The food was not great. For example, a NY strip came cut in several pieces.
Can never go wrong having dinner at the Grange!
Our evening at Grange was absolutely lovely, as always. The food is the spectacular. We were welcomed by all the staff, and made to feel like the most important people in the room. It was perfect.
This was the best dinner we’ve had in a year!!!! Fantastic menu excellent preparation. Very nice personal service.
We were seated on the upper level overlooking the main floor and it was very noisy. We acknowledge the restaurant was having a busy evening but we were looking forward to a quieter birthday celebration. Even though we mentioned it was a birthday celebration in the reservation, it was not acknowledged by the hostess that seated us nor the server. We brought a bottle of wine which the server opened and offered to pour however we were not ready and ordered a cocktail. (That was the last we saw of the server for a very long time.) Approximately ten minutes later when a floor manager stopped by our table to ask if everything was alright, we told him we had ordered cocktails and had been waiting for them. He departed and returned immediately with our drinks. The bus boy was excellent and kept us supplied with bread. Our soup and salad were delivered in an appropriate time frame from the kitchen. We finished our soup and salad and served ourselves to a glass of wine since the server had not yet returned to pour. Our entrees arrived from the kitchen and the server still had not returned to check on us so we poured ourselves a second glass of wine to have with our meal. Eventually the floor manager returned to check on us as we were finishing our meal and replenished our wine glasses. All in all a rather disappointing experience from a service perspective. Thankfully we were rescued by the floor manager! We were not comped the corkage after pouring most of the wine for ourselves. We were also upcharged two dollars for regular ice in our cocktail without being told about it.
Ideas were great. Execution was not as good as it should be for the prices. Duck was terrific.
This place is awesome! We went before a concert at Golden 1. They even had a special express menu for concert goers! The drinks were great, the food was decent, and they were able to accommodate my many food allergies. I’m sure the food is even better when you can eat it as it’s intended! We would definitely go back to this cool, industrial spot!
everything was top notch as it always is! My favorite in Dntn Sac!
Nice atmosphere and foods. Wine was a bid high priced.
The setting was fabulous with well done cocktails and an exciting menu. The food was sooo delicious-best gnocchi I’ve every had and the short ribs were fantastic!! And the service was first rate. Try it I guarantee you’ll love it.
I’ve known the Grange for years as a great business dinner venue, but I was pleasantly surprised that it made for a great anniversary dinner experience. An early Sunday dinner so it was not crowded and noisy yet. Eddie our waiter was the perfect host. He explained all our dishes in enjoyable detail. My wife, not the hungriest of eaters just loved the cold corn and crab soup...so rich. She followed with the scallops and pork belly appetizer and savored every last bite. I tried the seared ahi to start followed by the duck breast and paired with a Monterey rose.. Just great. My only suggestion...add just a bit of crusty duck skin to the dish to make it even better. What a great dinner for two.
Always excellent. Love eating at the grange. One of the highest quality restaurants in Sacramento especially downtown
Our server Kaylee was outstanding. Excellent food and service!
Excellent in every way! We will definitely be back.
This was my first time experiencing Grange. My Girlfriend and I spent our 8th year anniversary. It was Absolutely amazing. I asked the staff if we could sit up on top floor. With no hesitation, they allowed us to sit up there, more private, no other guests were up there at the time. It made us feel special. As for the food, it was very very good. One of the best meals I've ever eaten. Thank you Grange, we WILL BE BACK.
Phenomenal place! I’ve had so many unforgettable meals here, but the soups and the fish (especially halibut) stand out. Also, the pastry chef is a genius!
Great food- a bit pricey for the atmosphere. Bar area could be more comfortable.
Great food and service. It’s a bit pricey for what you get that is why I marked it down in the value rating.
Love the Power Lunch! Nice variety, and the right portions to get you through the rest of your day.
Our server was knowledgeable but service was fairly slow and the restaurant was not full. Water glasses were filled regularly. Prices seem higher than they should so value takes a hit. My short rib was drier than other times; others reported good flavors on their dishes (lobster pasta, duck, chicken). Desserts were good. Valet is always handled efficiently. Noise was pronounced. Grange feels over-priced to this foodie relative to Ellas’s.
Amazing service and the food was unbelievable!
Great spot. Nice layout and ambiance, food is awesome.
Actually, don't come here. No one seems to have figured out that this is an awesome brunch spot. Don't ruin it by inviting all your friends. Go drink White Claw at some place with outdoor seating.
Wonderful service and surprise treat for our birthday girl. Thank you!
We were seated right away for our first time at the Grange. Our waiter was knowledgeable and helpful in our menu selection. The beef short rib was extremely tender, and the mashed sweet potato and a sauteed or lightly creamed spinach (delicious) made a hearty meal. We also had the halibut which was perfectly cooked and lighter, although a good size serving. The scallops with pork belly (suggested by our waiter) were the star appetizer - both perfectly grilled so they looked & tasted great. My panna cotta was cooling , light, and not too sweet - a nice way to end the meal.
Finally, i was very pleased that we did not have to pay extra for good bread and butter!
Food was wonderful - great ingredients and preparation
A very trendy fresh and current bar and restaurant. Prices are higher than expected due to attachment to higher end hotel and being in downtown Sacramento but...I LOVED IT!
Loved this place. The staff was impeccable- the food was fabulous! Everything was top notch service! We will definitely be back :)
Chicken Hash with Chipotle Hollandaise sauce. Ridiculous. You could go with a Bloddy Mary, but why not go for a Michelada instead (I did). I got her very early for Brunch (8:30a), so it was very quiet - still a good recommend, I think.
Always consistent, awesome food and service! I love the ambiance of the old Citizen's hotel building and the valet parking!
