Located in downtown Sacramento, America's Farm to Fork Capital, Grange is a culinary expression of all things local, reflecting the authentic essence and soul of the community.
The menu showcases the market-driven bounties from the state and is best described as simple, seasonal and soulful. Organically raised meats and poultry are complemented with the freshest produce available from the Central Valley, while sustainable coastal seafood is paired with a spectacular all-California wine list. The entrees are presented in a straightforward American brasserie style. Lastly, enjoy the creations from our pastry chef such as rustic artisan breads and desserts.
This Sacramento restaurant’s setting is both classic and authentic. The two-story space combines architectural elements from the building’s rich history with exposed beams and concrete columns to create a surprising and urban, loft-like atmosphere.

Grange Ratings and Reviews
Went to Grange as part of Dine In Downtown so had limited menu choice but were thrilled with quality of food, the ambience, and especially the service from Melissa. Certainly will return. Must eat there if you stay at the Citizen and a top choice for Sacramento residents as well.
We heard good reviews, but sadly we saw nothing what people were talking about. The service was great and the charcuterie was good(liver amazing)...but that's where it ended. I had the duck which had a brown sauce that did not go with it at all and my wife had the cod that had zero flavor...I mean NONE. The calimari that was a side on the cod was good, but the side shouldn't be 100x better than the main. We did not have time for desert.
We call places like this "one and done!" If you are looking for way over priced bland mediocre food then try the grange, possibly a good place for a bar drink. But, sadly we will pass.
Last part...the restroom is in the connected hotel past the lobby and down stairs...really??!!?? Terrible placement!!
We choose the Grange frequently for business meetings about California public policy matters. It is the perfect location, allowing many people in the policy dialog to walk to the restaurant. It has the perfect array of menu items covering a wide range of dietary preferences. The service is superb and the food is expertly made!
I like this restaurant but have to say I was a little disappointed when I recently had brunch. They charge $5 for coffee and never asked if I wanted a refill until I was leaving. They then asked if I wanted to take a cup with me...my grandson ordered the Huevos Rancheros and he said there wasn't much chorizo - he would have liked more chorizo and less beans. I had the Crab and Spinach Eggs Benedict - it was good but the crab was a little "fishier" than I liked and a bit dry. I might go back at some point but not too soon. Also I would like to mention that the restaurant charges $7 on the food bill for the Valet parking. Therefore, I chose not to tip the guys parking and retrieving my car. I think they should say that valet parking is free and then the tip is given directly to the guys....
This place is usually top notch. Unfortunately, not so much for lunch last week. I ordered the spinach salad with chicken which I have done several times before. Typically the chicken is cooked perfectly and is moist and tender. The chicken I received this time was overcooked and dry. To top it off, the waiter only came by once to refill my soda so I didn't have anything to wash it down with. Considered sending it back, but I've never done that, and I didn't want to make my friends have to wait longer for me to finish lunch.
The Grange is a favorite restaurant that my daughters and I return to again and again for memorable meals. This time we introduced our extended family, and they also found the service friendly, the ambiance nice (this was an afternoon luncheon) and the food delicious.
Our first time dining at Grange at a friend's recommendation and it was worth the $25 parking fee (at a garage down the street). The risotto was excellent and the pork chop absolutely delicious. With the high ceilings, it can get noisy, so speak up!
Will go back again.
We were extremely disappointed with the service. When you eat at a place that costs $30-$50 a plate not including sides you expect prompt service. On several occasions throughout our 2 hour meal we were left wondering if our server had forgotten about us. It was 2 hours because everything took so long. The restaurant was pretty slow so it's not a bandwidth issue. Food was great, service was less than desirable.
We were very disappointed in Grange this time. As a Christmas Eve dinner locale, it was not special nor were the staff especially celebratory. We were trundled up to the mezzanine where we looked a largely empty dining room. Why, we asked ourselves, were we seated in Siberia. That feeling was part of our entire evening there: slow (but very friendly and nice wait staff) service, cold food (one dish was truly vile with chunks of mystery food) and lackadaisical presentation. We realize this may be the exception to our experience at Grange but it’ll be awhile before we return.
For the price, Grange was at best average. While there were plenty of people to bus, our waitress was not as attentive as needed. After spending nearly $250 for two, I did not have that "this was a very special experience" feeling. When we left, the valet was prepared to just hand me the keys and collect his tip. No opening the door for either myself or my partner until I asked him what he still needed to do. I think it is time for Grange to have a talk with their staff about why they charge what they do.
Most of our group had eaten here before and enjoyed the meal. However, this visit, the food was not as good. In our group of six, our entree choices (risotto, ribeye, pork chop, ahi, salmon) were just OK, nothing noteworthy except the risotto which was very good. The service was phenomenal and our server went above and beyond! We may return for happy hour or cocktails but probably not for dinner.
This is our favorite restaurant. Would dine more often but is a tad out of the budget but do try and attend twice a year for special occasions. Love, love, love the food, flavors and creativity. Had to move and sit next to my date because it was so loud. No biggie! Thank you again!
The meal was well prepared and had good flavor but it is very overpriced. We had a steak, tuna, appetizer and two glasses of mid-priced wine and the bill was $187.00.
The waiter was very friendly and well informed. He made the meal pleasurable. He was also very attentive.
Also expect to be disturbed by the colorful personalities that frequent the streets of Sacramento by tapping on the plentiful windows that line the restaurant.
10th anniversary dinner (although we dine here year round) upon request Staff made sure we had our favorite seating area and delivered my "surprise" gift with dessert. Evening went off without a hitch, delicious food and great staff made for a memorable night out!
The Grange was amazing. The food was especially unique. The drinks were amazing from the beautiful accoutrements to the amazing taste. We were excited to see what was coming next. We highly recommend the sides. Do NOT skip them! You will be disappointed. Most of all the experience was made by our waiter Roger who was highly skilled and extremely personable. Grange management.... note: he is one of a kind. :) Thank you for making our night memorable!
We came for the CIM marathon and this was our pre race dinner celebration. The pork chop was awesome as was the salad! Oh and great bread/buttsr and local IPA on tap. Service was professional save for one glitch(waiter tried to pour new wine glass into old glass at the table- bad form). Otherwise nothing to complain about and will come back!!
Great restaurant on our Sacramento visit. Good SO good but best of all we had one of the best waiters we have ever had. And we eat out very often. His name was Matty we think! Just delightful and on top of everything. Made us feel welcome and had good suggestions. Pretty close to the perfect waiter!’
We made a reservation at Grange for a special birthday. To start we had craft cocktails at the bar and found them inventive, well made, and delicious. Who knew a candy-coated bacon strip in one of the drinks could be so fun and tasty. At dinner we selected the pork chop. It was massive, beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. We love the local farm to table effort they make in selecting the various menu items. Tiffany, our server, was excellent and could not have been more helpful with the choices on the menu and with our selection of wine. Tiffany helped to make a special day even better - thank you. We look forward to another visit when we are in Sacramento.
