Grandma's Saloon & Grill
Grandma’s Saloon and Grill is a casual but lively adventure to the past where value and customer service are at the center of everything we do. The award winning food includes overstuffed sandwiches and burgers; house specialty pasta and wild rice dishes; appetizers homemade onion rings, chicken wings, and stuffed mushrooms. It’s an eyeful as a mouthful. Grandma’s Saloon and Grill is real history, real service, and really good food! Located at the foot of the historic Aerial Lift Bridge, at the tip of Lake Superior. Seasonal deck dining and the rooftop lounge includes this spectacular view.
Good menu. Lots of options. Food just okay. The host was great. Got seated almost immediately. Waitress was friendly.
I’ve always liked Grandmas. I have been going there since it opened.
We enjoyed a delightful rooftop lunch overlooking the lift bridge on a beautiful day. The food was good, the staff helpful, and our waitress was as sunny as the day.
We are a senior couple very conscience about staying safe. This was perfect!
Long line out the door as we walked up, nervous about what the social distance situation would be inside. We had a reservation and could go right in. They did an excellent job with all the CDC regulations. Felt comfortable the entire time we were there.
Dining experience is as pleasant as it could possibly be given the limitations and constraints that Covid places on restaurants and guests. The food is always good and the limited menu was just fine.
Food was meh, our waiter was great. We both ordered pasta entrees and they were pretty mediocre.
Nice place to eat and drink. Nice views from the roof top seating area.
Great food and good service. The Wild rice was good, honestly i had better. The wings were ok. Taste like KFC a bit. Sorry being honest. My kid liked his Cajun pasta, and my mom thought her pasta was OK,she had better.. overall the food was OK, i would go there agian and try other foods. Nice atmosphere, great service.
Overall nice place and good food. Portion sizes not impressive. Charged for salads when menu did not indicate additional charges.
Food was great, kind of expensive for bar food. $95 for a family of 4 (+4 alcoholic beverages).
Service was ok, they assumed we were driving and watered down my 2nd drink after never asking if I wanted another.
I appreciate the social distancing and option to make reservations. The reservations should be kept after Covid.
We were really disappointed in this visit. we've visited multiple times over the years, and this weekends experience was terrible. The service and cleanliness was great, however the food tasted awful and was cold. This makes no sense as they were at very low capacity.
Great staff! Great food! All the staff was wearing masks and were VERY nice! Great place, excellent food and drinks! Would HIGHLY recommend coming here. The fish and chips were GREAT. The Sandwiches are amazing as well. 10/10
Showed up to no outside seating priority after specifying in reservation and being guaranteed outside seating when I called ahead to confirm. They made it right after I insisted.
Appreciated our waitresses sense of humor given the circumstances
Food and service was excellent. The Cajun Chicken and Blackened Salmon were both phenomenal. Really impressed with the quality of the food. Environment and service was solid and social distancing was in place.
We went a bit early for lunch but service was so quick we were in and out in 1/2 hour! Spaghetti was amazing as always!
Nice to enjoy dinner with plates and silverware. So many places and serving with plastic and togo boxes. Erin was a friendly server. She did a nice job, enjoying our night because she took good care of us.
Our outdoor table and service were very nice, but there was a lot of confusion upon arriving. Very little direction on social distancing and mask recommendations. We were wearing masks and standing 6 feet behind the group checking in. Several unmasked people were cutting in front of us thinking we weren’t waiting. All standing 3 feet or less around us. Some coughing. Three people behind the hostess stand weren’t providing any direction. Getting to our rooftop table required us to pass several other customers in a closed stairwell. Compared to other places we visited in the area this was very confusing. Not worth the risk of infection in my opinion.
We went to Duluth just to get out and walk around. We always have to go to Grandmas and walk the peer.🥰
Waiter did an amazing job even with the situation that we are put in with COVID, and the food is always So good.
Celebrated our 10th Anniversary. Grandma's did not disappoint. Great Food and superior service.
Staff was well prepared for the COVID reopening. Amazing service and food as always!
We had a very nice meal out on the patio! The food was good, not exceptional, but good. Our waitstaff was focused on making sure we were comfortable and having a good time.
We were in town for the Robotics completion at the DECC and went to Grandmas. It was really good!
They were waiting for us when we got there which was great cause we arrived 15 minutes early. The front hosts we not very friendly but the waitress was amazing and made up for the lack of customer service in the front.
I feel the prices are a little high for the value and quantity of food received.
This was my first time here in 28 years it was amazing. The service was excellent definitely not waiting another 28 years
The food was fabulous. The service was great! I love Grandma's!
Classic Grandma's experience! The food was excellent (chicken tetrazinni) and our drinks were great!
Food prices have gotten very expensive for the amount of food served. The wings were awful and basically deep fried drummies. Service was great and showed up 30 minutes before our reservations and they were able to seat us immediately
In Duluth with grandkids to see Bentleyville.
Average at best. Even things they are “famous” for are just okay.
With the exception of the fried shrimp, the food was bland. The" saffron" rice was yellow, but had no taste whatsoever. Kabobs were supposed to be tenderloin, but were chewy. The fish tasted like it had been cooked ahead of time and reheated. I would skip the dinner selections and maybe go to the sandwiches. It's tough to ruin a hamburger. Server took away husbands wine glass when it was half full! Huh???
We got to Grandma’s 15 minutes early. They seated us right away. Waiter was attentive. Food came out fast, was hot & very good
Grandma's is our favorite restaurant to goto when we are in Duluth!
Even though we made a reservation for 12:30 at 10:40 when we arrived there was a wait for our table. Our waiter was outstanding even though he was quite busy. Our food was good.
Good food. Mushrooms were great. Good service. Will go again.
Chicken pot pie was just a flat piece of Michelin tire over a bowl of cream of chicken soup. Not one bite of actual chicken in it. Salmon was tough and gritty. Baked potato was undercooked, vegetables were overcooked. Wine was appallingly bad. Waitress kept disappearing; took 45 minutes to get our meal after placing our order. Took 20 minutes to get our bill after we were done and the plates were cleared. Looked to me like there were not enough wait staff, and too many hostesses running around with iPads doing nothing, all symptoms of serious management issues. Stay away till they get this fixed.
