The staff and the food were excellent.
The prime rib was perfect, juicy and flavorful.
Sishito peppers are a hit along with the sauce it comes with.
The view is perfect after a long hard day or week.
My boyfriend and I came to eat here for his birthday and we absolutely loved it! Definitely going back soon!
Great evening view of the city and outstanding service
The outdoor dining experience is outstanding as is the service and food. This place is pricey, but well worth it for the occasional splurge.
Dear Ronbo, We are so happy you enjoyed our new expanded outdoor patio. We are thrilled to have a space to allow our guests celebrate during these times! Eat.Love.Celebrate The Grand View
My squid ink pasta was delicious and the view was amazing. The service was good, and with the heater on next to our table, it was comfy to sit outside. Only negative- FRANK SINATRA all night long- nothing but FRANK SINATRA- even the goofy songs like High Hopes- not a fan of Frank Sinatra so it was very annoying.
The food was good, nothing must come back for. The view was nice, but I imagine would be nicer at night. (I was there from 5pm - 7pm) We got a nice sunset picture. It was a bit toasty around that time too and the sun was kind of in my eyes. They could not lower any shading since other customers were seated next to the curtains. I heard they have a pianist - we did not get to hear or see one. Not sure if due to Covid. It was a little smokey although the fires calm down and didn't smell smokey. The drive up made me a little sick. The prices were high, but I didn't feel the food was exceptional. I think it's all for the view. It's a must try - but now that I've been... I am not sure I need to go again. Ruth Chris or any other steak house has better food & options.
My wife and I drove for what turned out to be over an hour to thus remote location in the San Jose hills only to find the restaurant was CLOSED! Open-Table reservations made and confirmed with reservation #. Why us Open-Table taking reservations on restaurants that are closed?!
After a long closure, due to the pandemic, we recently reopened for our patio outdoor dining and stunning views! Sadly, due to the recent California wildfires we had to temporarily close again! We did try to reach all of our guest with reservations to notify everyone. Upon your next visit please let our management team know the situation and of course we would love to give you an extra special dining experience! Thank you again for your understanding and loyal support! The Grand View
We love this place! Highly recommended! We will be back soon.
Decent dinner Sunday night. The view, of course, is great and only outside seating is available at this time. The ambiance is usually quite pleasant, but the swarms of flies detracted from our enjoyment of the meal. The food and service were good. I typically don’t mind paying a premium, but the pricing here is getting a exorbitant. For what is delivered, the value is not there. Furthermore, the restaurant assessed a “living wage” because of the high labor costs in the region. I get it, but it is still insulting and disrespectful towards your guests. Just adjust the menu prices. Don’t make the political statement.
Our waiter Fernando was wonderful, knowledgeable, and welcoming.
Please thank him on our behalf. We will definitely see you again!
Grand service, grand food and Grand View! We will be back for another special occasion!
One of the best views of the valley at sunset especially out on the patio.
First thing you'll notice is that the view is amazing. I recommend grabbing the rail-side seating, where you'll be able to get a clear view over the city with whomever you're coming with. The vibe in the environment is calming and romantic.
The service was amazing. It was my first thing there, so they gave us a little history about how they get their fresh ingredients because I was wondering myself. We had to be moved to the upper patio, due to having to close the lower patio early, but they were super polite about it.
Lastly, the food. Wow. It was really good. We got the arancini, tomahawk steak with a lobster tail, and maine lobster ravioli. Arancini came in 3 and it felt a little pricey, but the flavor felt worth it. My girlfriend got the tomahawk steak (even though it wasn't on the menu) and she loved it. I got the ravioli and it was amazing. One thing I didn't like was that the pasta was a little hard around the edges, but other than that, everything was perfect. We had a great and wonderful night here and I'll be looking forward to returning!
It’s very good restaurant to celebrate something special. Very nice and romantic view
The truffle arancini were good appetizers but steak, galleria mashed potatoes and pasta were trash and overpriced.
Fun place to celebrate and watch the sunset over the Bay area. Beautiful views and a fun drive. Food is good, not great, but the setting and service make up for it. Very responsible regarding social distancing. Excellent choice of wine and sommelier was fantastic.
Definitely the place to be when it come to special occasions. The view is breathtaking and the food taste and presentation was fantastic. Service was very friendly, professional, and topnotch.
I really enjoyed the food at Grand View. The ambience was breathtaking and the food was outstanding. We tried all the suggested food items and were extremely satisfied. We will definitely be back to celebrate more wonderful events/occasions.
Fabulous sunset dinner with the family to celebrate our 20th anniversary - quarantine style. Service and food were excellent. Will definitely be back!
My girlfriend and I visited the Grand View on a Tuesday night. The staff was friendly and helpful, the food tasted amazing, and the view was beautiful. However, the sound of the refrigerator was difficult to speak over, and the smell of what seemed to be a butcher house was prominent. Thank you for a great night.
Great place to celebrate and enjoy a great dinner with an awesome sunset.
Amazing view, parking might be a bit hard to find when full. Good selection of wines, food was tasty.
The place is very nice and worth spending an evening there. The service wasn't all that great and yet I understand the changes needed for Covid and what that might do to a restaurant.
This restaurant is amazing...Great view of San Jose and very quiet. And let’s just say the food presentation and taste was perfect!
We had a great time. Our server Maxime was wonderful, attentive without hovering, had great recommendations. The view was incredible, the drive up and down the mountain was very pleasant. Loved that all the food came from the nearby farm. You could tell they genuinely respected each and every vegetable. Will definitely be returning and bringing many of our out of town visitors here.
Excellent appetizer, salad and entrees and desert.
Prices went up and the quality of the food went downhill
The Grandview is definitely a destination restaurant with an awesome view. I was actually happy the dining room is closed right now, the patio was amazing. Very clean. Took our temp upon arrival with this cool standalone contact less thermal images. All staff wearing masks, disposable menus, hand sanitizer at every table. Food servers wore gloves as well. Awesome waiter and staff. Food was amazing. Hostess could've been a little nicer at the greeting. Otherwise it was an awesome experience. Highly recommend a reservation around sunset on the patio. So gorgeous.
Lovely setting, although the drive there is up a narrow and snakey road with steep drop off places without guard rails.
The restaurant had beautiful vistas with great service and good, but very expensive food. Bring your checkbook or high limit credit card.
The food, atmosphere and service are always excellent!
Had a nice quiet and beautiful view anniversary dinner.
The food was disappointing but the service and location are great.
Upper and lower deck. We were give lower deck. Why? Would have preferred upper deck. The hostess sat us in the partial shade, but didn't assist when we needed to move the table out of the sun! We came for the oysters and were disappointed. But for the most part the food was good. We split everything and the bill was still over $250. Guess we are paying for the sunny lower deck. :(
Great service, great food, great view and amazing evening out with my fiance celebrating my birthday. Fresh ingredients from their own farm and a beautiful view of the valley.
It was wonderful to return to Grand View Restaurant! Their outdoor dining was well distanced; waiters all wore masks; guests all arrived with masks and temperatures were taken. The food was good; service was good but not outstanding. The view cannot be beat! It was a lovely experience.
The steak tasted like it was freezer burned
Fantastic views, and tasty food. A little pricey though.
The GrandView Restaurant was such a great experience and I would recommend it to others!
