Great birthday dinner. Service excellent. Food was amazing and staff had great service.
The waitress for got to bring bread and olive oil vinegar, she left my credit card inside the pouch I didn’t see it and after I got home I realized that I don’t have my credit card called restaurant they told me that they cannot mail it I asked the manager to destroy the card, overall we didn’t had good experience.
Location is great for sunset view, service was excellent. The food was just acceptable. I wouldn’t go back for the price
Amazing evening for our anniversary dinner.
Great date night experience! Our first time at this restaurant did not disappoint. Everything about it- the bar, the food, the service and of course the view were all spectacular.
Going to The Grandview for the first time I was so impressed with the decor and ambiance. The service was amazing and the food was exquisite. My wife and I are going to make dining there a frequent event throughout the year!
What an amazing view! The restaurant is super clean and the wait staff is great! Super friendly. We were a little disappointed with dessert but everything else was great!
Pros: good food and views
Cons: the service, while attentetive, was missing the mark. We mentioned mollusc allergy at the table and got a small complimentary bite from the chef with scallop, we ordered champagne and were about to get prosecco instead, I had to remind about various dishes that were taking a long time while everything else was already on the table, I got regular water poured into my glass with sparkling water, etc, etc, etc.
We sat for approximately 15 mins before we asked for water. Our serve at the end of the meal attempted to tell us that the glass of Prosecco we bought was indeed $65 even after we questioned the charge. Checked online and we see that it’s $14 a glass.
Calamari was good and at $19 was a fair price. Quantity sufficient.
18 oz Cowboy cut steak was so so. Hence my opinion overpriced at $72.
Before I dined at the restaurant I checked the menu on the website and made a choice, but when I opened up the menu, at the restaurant, I did not see the items I had decided on. I asked the waiter and he said the menu had been changed 5 times in 1 month, thus making the menu online obsolete. Not good. The menu items I had to choose from were not what I had in mind. I decided on the salmon which was way overpriced. Sides are separate. Won't be going back.
Food: ok typical had better, although fresh made pasta was good.
Service: Good, attentive, asked if we had food allergies.
Ambience: nice view of the Bay Area
Living wage extra charge: We didn’t give a full 20% tip the restaurant tacked on a “Living Wage” fee, thought that was rude of the restaurant. Charging high price food items and yet passed additional costs to their customer. The restaurant should be taking care of their own people.
I would not go back again, they don’t care about their employees, who works super hard for their salary.
We had our anniversary dinner and it was my boyfriends fort time dinning. The food did not have any type of flavor to it.. he ordered the rib eye bone in and it did not look good or taste good at all.. the potatoes were extremely salty.. they ran out of bread.. the food should have a little bit more taste to it.. overall the wine and the view was fantastic.
Overall very good.
While our server was pouring the wine he wiped his forehead with the towel...the same towel that wipes the drips of wine from the neck/opening of the wine - eesh!
The food was good the portions good. The staff was great never felt pushed they were always checking to see if we needed anything and to make sure everything was alright. everything was al la cart both the wife and I had salads to start with which were very good I had the 16 oz prime rib and my wife had the salmon and we shared a side of roasted vegetables and some potatoes I had a butterscotch desert and the wife had tiramisu mine was OK the wife’s was some sort of deconstructed desert with one lady finger. Would not order that again. We each had one drink and no wine the bill came to $230.00. I would go back but it is not on the top of my list special occasions restaurants
Great food, great drinks, great views. Perfect for any occasion.
I would recommend Grand View for the location, but not the food. Unfortunately, the food was too heavy/oily for us and was disappointed with it. It was nice to give the restaurant a try, but we do not plan on returning.
Not only is the view beautiful; the employees are very respectful, professional and friendly. The restaurant is carpeted, therefore not as noisy as other restaurants. The food was very delicious, seasoned perfectly. I would definitely dine here again.
I love the view service but food was not the best chicken was alittle dry my husband mother in law Linguine and clams and not good.
Fantastic view. The food is exquisite and wonderfully fresh. The chocolate creme brûlée was fantastic.
The miatake mushroom was beautifully seasoned. Compliments to the chef.
Karl, the server, was great. All the staff was super.
Great place for a romantic dinner and a wonderful escape from the busy Silicon Valley noise and traffic. Spectacular views! Great cocktails and appetizers sourced from local farms. I was not a fan of the Pollo Parmigiana, but that is my personal opinion.
Steak was not cooked properly then it took another 20 + minutes to fix the issue while my spouse finished her meal so it would not get cold. Then when it came back out nothing was mentioned about the wait and incorrect issue. Then after ordering dessert we were told chef was not happy with the desert so it is not available. So not really impressed with the overall delivery of service on my first visit here. But the view was nice and tired not to let the issues get in the way of the anniversary dinner.
We had a great time! The food was good and our server, Christian, was amazing. He updated us every step of the way especially when there was a delay on our food. He also recommended us some delicious wine that complimented our meals. Unfortunately, they ran out of the chocolate torte cake. However, the butterscotch pudding was delicious and it was another great recommendation by our server. Overall, the ambiance, the delicious food, and our very accommodating server deliver an unforgettable experience.
It’s absolutely beautiful here the view is amazing. When we first got there the service was outstanding but by the time we got our food we were completely ignored nobody came around we actually had asked for our check. The food is just OK and it’s outrageously expensive and for how expensive it is it’s just OK but you’re not really paying for the food you’re paying for the view.
The view, the food and the service is incredible.
Squash blossom appetizer was covered in a very thick layer of oily crumbs. - the texture or taste of the blossom was impossible to discern.
Mushrooms Pasta and the Peppers were OK.
Great food, great service, great view, great restaurant!
Parking needs to improve. Very limited and tight.
Very classy, white-tablecloth restaurant with old-fashioned attentive but never-hovering suited wait staff. We had salmon, scallops and steak and all were cooked to perfection. The view locally is tough to beat: the restaurant is high on the hillside and sunset over Silicon Valley is spectacular. A fabulous place for a special occasion as it is not inexpensive!
Great view and nice food. I will recommend the view and the nice interior design of this restaurant.
Birthday and anniversary combined family dinner. Amazing as always. Hidden gem.
We had a nice dinner .. I didn’t like the plastic that was put up in the patio area.. it obstructed the view during the daylight. Dinner was very very expensive and not a fan of everything being À la cart. The staff was great and we liked our waiter Mark.
The highest grade i can give. A perfect night for my girlfriend and i.
Went for our anniversary and enjoyed a nice three hour meal and each other. Our waiter was phenomenal making great recommendations and talking about his french past as well.
The menu had some interesting and different items, not the same old stuff that many restaurants have. The food was good, service excellent. The view was super.
When you decide to go a place like the Grand View I believe you are paying not just for the food,.but the experience and with that being said I believe it was fully worth the check at the end. The restaurant itself is a small place nestled into the hills above Silicon Valley. The whole experience from start to finish was amazing. Cocktails that I would drive for alone, the service was without a doubt the best I have ever experienced and the food. How do I describe the best meal I have ever had? It really is hard to put it into words. If you have the opportunity to enjoy a meal with the Grand View I highly recommend it.
We knew the food would be incredible, and it was, but the service was above and beyond friendly, helpful and attentive. The bar area was just beautiful to look at. The drinks we had were very well made in my opinion. The gorgeous view of the entire valley was such a treat at sunset. We can't wait to go back again!
Everything was perfect....except for the fact they had run out of the chocolate dessert. Our reservations were for 5:30.....too early to run out of such a great dessert :)
The view was incredible! The food was very well thought out and exquisitely prepared. If enjoyed slowly, the food has incredible depth. Sean, our server, was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Overall, a wonderful experience for our anniversary! Thank you!
It was a perfect night for my boyfriend and I to celebrate our anniversary. Grand view was very accommodating. We love that place.
Thank you for making it special all over again.
the ambiance and service was great, although a little slow. The only thing I was disappointed in was the food. I had the lobster ravioli and I thought it was a little dry, esp for the price.
