   The view, ambiance, and service were fantastic. The food was very expensive and was okay, but did not meet the expectation for quality fine dining. The food also did not equal the price. Most of us got the special that night of the duck, but it fell sadly below the description, texture and flavor. The restaurant is a novel experience with an unparalleled view, but we will not be going back for the food,

   Stellar cuisine and top-notch service. Well versed waitstaff and the understanding of food restrictions (gluten-free) was spot on. This just became one of our favorite places in the Bay Area. We plan to keep it in rotation from this point forward.

   The Grand View has been the best dinning experience we have had in while. The staff was awesome, they called ahead of my reservation and offered a 10% discount on a bottle. Upon getting there our table was already set up with the bottle I requested, nice surprise for my boyfriends birthday. I live in Southern California but will be recommending it to anyone going up north to go to Grand View.

   I would recommend Grand View for a wonderful culinary experience. Food was exquisite and complemented one another. There was much attention to detail as each item was brought out. They looked like master pieces. The view was breathtaking as we watched the sun set with the brilliant hues of orange, red and yellows. Thanks so much, Grand View. I'll be back, for sure.

   We were warmly greeted and given our choice of seating options. Indoors or outside, our choice. We chose outside, since it was a warm evening. Our waitress and all wait staff were very attentive. Our drink orders were taken quickly. From our amuse bouche, to our appetizer, salad and main courses, everything was delicious. It is not cheap, but for a special occasion, it is well worth it.

   Automatic gratuity added and the wait staff acted like it. Had to ask to refill water, busboy wanted us to hand him our dishes, took silverware but didn't bring replacements. Steak was supposed to be rare but was medium with a sort of dead fish grey pink. Desert was school cafeteria mousse (aka school whip) with some chocolate sauce. Not the desert for a $500 dollar dinner for three. Parking was packed and the road parking has a sign saying parking prohibited... restaurant says not to worry (didn't get ticketed so...)

    Wonderful evening at The Grandview! Our server Marty was fabulous. He knew the menu inside and out. He made recommendations and we went with every single one! Our meal was so delicious. The atmosphere was so relaxed, the views spectacular, and we were so surprised when we realized we easily spent a couple of hours just enjoying everything The Grandview has to offer. My only beware is that the menu is quite pricey. Be prepared for some pain in the pocketbook. We save this wonderful place for special occasions and it does not disappoint.

    I booked dinner at 8:30 p.m. The server was in a rush to finish up, I'm guessing because it was Friday night and he wanted to go home faster. He grabbed the plate while my fiancée was still working on it. The server never asked if we need water even our glasses were sitting empty on the table until I asked for water. That's not what I expected from a fancy restaurant. Additionally, upon my fiancée's request, I paid $75 tip even though I wasn't happy with the server. I didn't want to ruin our anniversary night. If it had just been me there, I would have paid only $1.

    Hello, I reserved this date for me & my boyfriends birthday. As soon as we got in the restaurant we got sat down and then our waiter left, we didn’t get checked on for about 20 minutes until I got up to use the restroom and saw a guy that was checking on other tables, I let the guy know that it is me and my boyfriend’s birthday and if it’s possible if we can have some type of cake or anything, the night goes on we get all of our food people around us we’re getting checked on but we still see our waiter helping Other tables , we get our bill we pay and then we’re walking out the waiters stop & says he has a cake so now we are sitting at the front by the bar eating the cake. I was very upset because it was my birthday. I drove from Stockton so that was about a 1 hour 30 drive and explain that to the waiters I just wanted some type of birthday vibe. I will definitely not recommend this restaurant

    This was a very special place -- the Grand View is a memorable experience. Cyclists, our husband and I have ridden our bikes by this "old" restaurant many times. The reality of the restaurant was so much better than our original impression. The "new" ownership 10 years ago brought great food and the service is excellent. It's hard to know where to take out-of-town visitors for an unforgettable experience of the Silicon Valley. It's a great romantic location too. This is it.

    It's called grand view for a reason! Absolutely stunning. Service took a bit but we were happy with that because it meant we could relax and enjoy our conversation. At one point we heard someone on the staff complaining about making non-alcoholic mixed drinks, so we decided not to order any. This was kind of sad because we wanted something that felt fancy but we don't drink, but hearing him complain dissuaded us from asking. Outside of that, perfect perfect dinner. Yummy, pretty views, and heaters on the patio hahah. Great for a special occasion

    Pros: Nice view, attentive and very kind server, main entrees were good/ok (kids pasta and filet mignon), server split filet mignon for us into 2 plates to share, dessert was good/ok, brought a candle for bday person. Cons: The amuse bouche was thoughtful but lacked flavor, the poke tacos were flavorless (too much guacamole covering fish), bread was ok, long drive for ok food.

    We have wanted to try this place for a long time and decided to make the 1+ hour drive to celebrate our anniversary here. The location is beautiful. Our waiter was awkward and had to come back and ask what we ordered, because he forgot. We asked him a couple of times for the same thing and he never came back, but he was stopping at the table next to us. I finally walked to the bar to order our wine, because we were being ignored. The bartender and maitre de were very helpful. We didn’t order dessert because our server never even asked if we wanted any. With the high prices on this menu, I was very disappointed at the level of service by our waiter.

    My husband & I had a reservation on 04/30 at 6:45p to celebrate our two year anniversary. We did this last year for our one year anniversary + pregnancy & were hoping this would be the start to a tradition of celebrating future anniversaries/milestones. During our time there, I had nothing but great things to say. It was only until we began to notice other people around us receiving their dishes & drinks before us & began to feel forgotten. I have no complaints about our server Marty, he is good at what he does, was only doing his job & what he was instructed to do. Our complaint is with our experience with the person who was in charge that night. Our orders took a long time to come to our table. We had to ask why there was a delay & received two very understandable reasons. We were content with that. However, once we were served our entrées finally, in the middle of eating, we were approached by a man who informed us very rudely that the true reason there was a hold up on our food & drinks was because he saw me stumble while I got up from my seat. Because of this apparent stumble, he took it upon himself to instruct the staff to wait on serving us because he thought I was intoxicated & didn’t allow us to have our dinner until close to 2 hours later. I was so upset about this insulting accusation I walked out. It wasn’t fair, it wasn’t right. It was embarrassing & so uncalled for. We never made a scene or spoke loud when asking about our orders. We accepted their responses & continued to be patient. I was not walking around stumbling, slurring, or belligerent, & would completely understand had I been. My behavior did not warrant this type of treatment. This night was supposed to be a quiet evening away from our infant, a time for us to enjoy, and celebrate our milestone as wife and husband turning mom and dad. We were appropriate, patient, and very complimentary only to be picked out and accused so falsely. This night was shocking to me, I left with tears in my eyes

    I ordered the ribeye medium, and it barely had any pink in the middle. Even more disappointing was the fact that it was actually 2 thin steaks stacked on one another. I was reluctant to send it back but my server sorta insisted. My replacement steak, although one piece of meat, was more disappointing. It was rare and tough. We also ordered the seafood pasta which was also very disappointing. The sides and appetizers were great. My drink, some sort of smoky Old Fashioned, was excellent. The ambience was outstanding. We had a corner window table and caught the sun as it was setting.

    The table we were at was at a angle so we all felt like we were sliding off the chairs with every movement. Than I received my prime rib and it was under cooked. We let them know and they offer to make a new one to take home and we accepted that. When we got home we realized all they was grilled cooked up the rest of the meat I already started eating. Because how they cooked it by it seemed bbq grilled it lost all flavor to the meat.

    When I walked in, I think the entrance was very nice. Going towards the table, I felt it felt empty and not very presentable for a nice restaurant. The tablecloths were dirty and the menus were sticky. I thought the area to take photos could be better. The wait for the food WAS TOO LONG. I think the food was okay, but I didn't find it very delicious. I think people really only pay for the view here, but it's not entirely such a great experience. I don't think I would do this again. The only thing I did enjoy was the dip for the bread. I did appreciate the dessert for my birthday. I wish there was some music playing, but I felt that it was very quiet and a lot of awkward silence because I felt that the next table could hear me since it was so quiet inside.

    The reason you go to this restaurant is the view hence the name "Grand"view. Waitstaff were very good and courteous. They initially sat us outside but my wife was not dressed for the late afternoon breeze and after requesting to be moved inside they were quick to find us a table but one that still offered access to the view. Per other reviews we chose to stay away from the steaks as many people said they were burnt and tasted burnt...we did not feel inclined to spend $80 on steak only to taste burnt..plus that vegetables are not included and have to be ordered separately. Instead we chose pasta dishes. Mine had an overwhelming taste of pepper. The flavor was so strong it overpowered the dish and I could taste nothing else. I could not finish my meal. My wife's dish just had no flavor and she too did not finish her dish. Go for the view but do not go into the experience with high expectations of a grand food experience.

    Good restaurant to celebrate an anniversary or other special occasion. Expensive compared to comparable quality restaurants but worth the premium for a celebratory dinner.
