Thank you for the five star review, on behalf of all of at The Grand View, we appreciate it very much. Eat.Love.Celebrate
The food was disgusting. The plate was hot around the edge and cold in the middle. After I explained the problem, the meal came back burned. We asked for the check twice, was given the dessert menu, declined and asked for the check a third time. 10mins later, the waiter brings out a birthday dessert and then waited another 10mins for the check - easily over 20mins waiting. Would strongly recommend to not eat here, so disappointing.
Everything we had was exceptional. Loved the house made pasta in the Frutti Di Mare Sicilian. Farm to table vegetables in the salad used the most tender greens. Cocktails are fabulous as are the views!
Thank you for your positive feedback! We hope you can join us on another occasion soon. Eat.Love.Celebrate The Grand View

The view is amazing and staff is friendly however they forgot about us!! We were seated at 820, order taken right away but food did not come until almost 10:30. The manager did approach us to apologize but it truly ruined the experience and did not meet our expectations. Food was decent, nothing special. Overall don’t think we’ll be back!
We’ve been going to The Grand View since 2016 so we’re not new with the ambiance. We’ve
Extremely expensive for what you get. The serviceware needs to reflect the food or vice versa. A huge plate makes a small steak seem even smaller, especially when it is served a la carte. The prime rib was good but there weren’t any sauces. I took most of it home just so I could make my own horseradish for it.
Thank you for your feedback, the Prime Rib is served with whipped horseradish and bone marrow broth. So sorry to hear that your sauce was omitted. We hope to have another opportunity to surpass your expectations in the future. Eat.Love. Celebrate
We had a great experience going for Mother’s Day!
I cant put words together to how great this whole evening dinner for us was. We have been here before and every time we go its definitely a home run hit by Barry Bonds.
See you again Grand View.
Incredible service, food, and views! This is absolutely a place I would recommend to anyone!
We love coming here for special occasions. The staff is phenomenal, views are amazing and the food is fantastic!
Such a treat for my husband and I. We are in the industry and appreciate all that the Grand View had to offer. M Howard- Inn at Tres Pinos
View was great... food was just OK...service was slow..tack on a 23.00 living wage fee with out advising me. Cost was high. But not super high.. value for cost. Tad below average.
It was a birthday dinner for my husband. Our first time. Loved the food and service was great.
We went there for a birthday celebration mainly for the expected grand view over the mountain. Due to the summer time hours, the sun was still very bright when we got their at around 6:30 pm. Most of the time I was talking to my wife with my sunglasses on. And there was an annoying fly buzzing around all the time. Not a very romantic experience. The food was OK, not the best, and the service was excellent.
We went for our 2 year wedding anniversary and had a lovely time. Our waitress was wonderful and the food was amazing!
The restaurant set up with the views were amazing! The food was good, the service was good. Our server was overwhelmed and at times forgot about us, but we weren’t in a hurry. The supporting servers were awesome. Super polite. I would recommend and would come back.
Our table was very slanted which made it uncomfortable to eat and enjoy our dine in. The service was also very slow. Food was moderate and our view wasn’t as spectacular as expected as we got the very back table.
This is a very expensive restaurant. We went there knowing that. But there was a party there when we arrived with 2 very LOUD, undisciplined toddlers. This restaurant is nit appropriate fir small children. We were a party if 4 adults, but most tables were parties of 2, trying to enjoy a nice, romantic dinner. This group ruined the atmosphere. In addition, my husband ordered the lamb, medium at $72. 2 of his 3 chops were over cooked. I ordered the prime rib. It was cooked perfectly but lacked flavor. We did have the tiramisu which was delicious. For the 4 of us our dinner was $564. We had requested 2 separate checks, originally the waitress only brought one. She did take it back and fix it. With our tip our total was over $300. For this price I don’t expect loud toddlers to be disrupting my dinner and I expect excellent food. BTW, we have been her several times before (pre Covid) prices were not as high and the food was amazing.
Good experience thanks. Happy to celebrate my husband’s birthday.
Great food, well-prepared and presented. Good size portions. Excellent service. As expected, the views were amazing. Next time we go we'll take the smaller car and not the big ol' pickup truck which was wider than was comfortable on that narrow and winding road.
Celebrated our 15 year wedding anniversary at Grandview. My wife's experience was outstanding, with excellent meal. Mine was not great - I ordered the 14oz Ribeye steak and requested it be cooked "medium". It arrived on my plate "well" done and extremely dry. And, while I was offered a new order, the rhythm of the evening was thrown off significantly without so much as a sorry for the trouble. We had made reservations months in advance based on rave reviews. I was just let down by the experience.
Went to Grandview for the first time and was very disappointed. For the price, the food fell short. I ordered the special prosciutto wrapped beef and it was unbelievably salty, same for their carbonara. The kobe steak was good but not 80$ good.
The service and views were top notch, but everyone at the table agreed we were only paying for the ambience, not yummy food.
This place was highly recommended and a friend offered to take me here for my birthday treat. We were mostly looking for a good place to get steak. Unfortunately either this place is suffering from the covid crisis or is really very overhyped. There were three of us and we all agreed that food we had was greatly lacking in flavor and execution for the prices we were being charged. We ordered two appetizers, steaks and had desserts. The best part of the meal was actually the dessert. The plating and service of was fine, the lady serving our table was also wonderful but the food lacked creativity and flavor. The wine by the glass were also not that great, maybe we will go by the bottle the next time. Also since the place was packed parking was big challenge.
The food was delicious. Definitely pricey and you are definitely paying for the view. They added a below section. You can definitely tell which “type” of people they place below and whose seated on top. Very noticeable.
This is definitely a 'bucket list' destination. The views are spectacular and the cocktails are amazing. Our server either had too many tables, or was not as interested in us as I would have expected for this environment. One meal (chicken) was less than hot - and I should have sent it back - but I didn't. The other two meals (steak and prime rib) were perfectly done and did not dissapoint.
I had hoped for more, but came up a bit disappointed.
Thank you for your feedback. We will certainly share your experience with the entire staff, as it is always our goal to improve. We hope you will alway speak up in real time so we could have offered you a dish that would leave you happy, which is what we always want. We do hope we can wow you on a future occasion. This place itself is so beautiful and feels very classy! It overlooks a gorgeous view of San Jose and we went when it was raining and it was still perfect! The food was absolutely delicious as well as the drinks! We sat outside but were kept warm with the multiple heaters and the staff was by far the best part of the experience! They were friendly and responsive to any needs we had! Can't wait to come back here!!
Thank you for sharing your positive feedback with us and the Open Table community. We are so happy you enjoyed the gorgeous view and felt cozy with the heaters standing by. On behalf of all of us a The Grand View, we appreciate it very much! We look forward to another opportunity to serve you and your guests again soon! Eat.Love.Celebrate
Great Experience, showed up a little early but had 0 wait time.
The food was excellent, the service was outstanding, and the ambiance was just right. Although we couldn't enjoy the view at night with the blurry plastic drapes it was a well-spent evening eating some fine cuisine. I believe the drapes were to keep the cold in, but something that would allow them to be more transparent would be nice. Highly recommend eating here!
Food - Average. We got the Kale Salad, which was tasted good (pistachios and avocado!) but felt a bit dry. The pasta with lamb ragu was quite good, flavorful and juicy. The chicken parmigiano was disappointing - cold inside, little sauce, plain spaghetti. Canoli desert was reasonable. For the prices, the food felt unexceptional.
Service - Good. Our server was friendly and efficient. She spent time explaining the options and made some recommendations. The wine we wanted (Barolo half-bottle) was out, so they substituted a Barbaresco, which wasn't as good.
Ambience - Good. The views are wonderful. Even though the day was cloudy, so we could not see the sunset, we did see the transformation from day to night with the city lights. The patio is comfortable, with good heaters and clear screens to protect from wind / bugs. The facility is large and opulent. Only downer was that it was super busy, and there were a couple of large groups next to us, one of which was very loud. Not ideal for fine dining!
If the food was better or the prices were more reasonable, this could have been a worthwhile visit. They are probably leveraging their location, milking it with high prices, and not providing concomitant levels of food quality.
The service is amazing. The food delicious. Be sure to book around sun down.

This place never disappoints. Took my wife for a birthday dinner. Cajun ribeye steaks were great. Service was great. Ambience and view was great!

Ambiance was great. First time here and enjoyed the outdoor seating. Heat lamps help keep me from getting cold.
Service wise was somewhat slow. We ordered immediately but took a while to get our food. The party of 8 behind us (who was seated after us) got their food way before us.
Apps and salad were our fav. Steak and prime rib were decent but wish the horseradish sauce had more kick to it. Sides were a little small for the price in my opinion.
Overall, decent dining experience. Parking was super hard! For the # of customers, there were not enough parking, even if we parked along the road.

The reviews for this place was pretty polarized on yelp/google/opentable but I decided to come for the views anyway.
There were 2 outdoor seating areas. My friend and I were seated on the upper outdoor area where there is a plastic covering. If you want better views, go for the lower outdoor seating, it doesn’t has a plastic covering and you get better views.
Let me start by saying that I am VERY LOW MAINTENANCE when it comes to food. I ordered baked oysters for appetizer and the after taste of fishiness was so heavy, it was awful. If you’ve had fresh Maine oysters, this dish was a 1/10.
For main course I ordered the pollo with pesto pasta, it was one of their “signature” dish. I figured it should taste at least a 7/10 at worst. The meal came fast and LUKE WARM. The chicken was breaded but the breading was soggy. The chicken itself was a large slab but it has no taste and the texture was hard and I can only describe it like old chicken nuggets. The pesto pasta was very light and I could barely taste the pesto and was very bland.
I ordered 2 appetizers, 2 main courses, 1 glass of wine and the bill was $250. They also slap on a near 5% living wage fee.
READ THE 1 STAR REVIEWS, they are all true. The food was disgusting and VERY overpriced. I would only recommend to come here for a cocktail if you want to enjoy the views.
Great experience for any special occasion! The view is 2nd to none ! That’s my second visit with my wife ,we loved everything about that place . Highly recommended.
