Father’s Day

The entire staff had masks on. Very nice that both staff and guests were playing their role in new normal.

My grandma and I went for Troy restaurant week and we’re super impressed. The portions were very generous and everything tasted fantastic! We tried the chicken pesto pasta and mile high club. The mile high club came with house-made chips. For dessert, we tried the cream puff and toffee cake.

Our waiter was Nicholas and he was AMAZING! Would go back just for him. And the food was fab too!!! Would definitely go back!!

We did not do the buffet because kids wanted chicken strips. We ordered salads off the menu. Best salads in all of Michigan. Fresh and every bite had a cornucopia of amazing flavors. Kids loved the chicken and fries. Definitely a must for lunch.

We had a great experience ... a few from our party enjoyed the buffet (food was excellent). The rest ordered off the menu.

Went for the brunch buffet which is hard to find on Saturdays. Overall great value for the items offered. Everything was tasty; especially the salmon and brisket. Attentive service.

Breakfast buffet is great with a variety of food that is fresh.

Don't put someone who selects date night near the middle of the room. Could barely talk.

Ordered the lemon chicken and it was fantastic!! Best chicken dish I've ever had. Had a 6pm reservation on a Saturday night and got sat immediately. The restaurant started to fill up closer to 7. Will definitely go back!

Always enjoy the brunch on Sat, Sunday at Grand Tavern....The young girls that hostess are always friendly and welcoming our waitress was very attentive. The only problem I had was their was a coupon for 5.00 off for a meal over 30.00. we had 3 brunches which was over that amount but when showed it the waitress, she was somewhat embarrassed and said that the coupon wasn't good for brunches, but no where on the coupon did it state that fact....It wasn't a huge deal but I felt to save us from embarrassment and the staff it should be stated on the coupon, not good for brunch.

Food was not bad nothing to complain about other than it came out about 10 minutes after we ordered which the entrees were obviously not cooked fresh. Waiter kind of made the visit uncomfortable. Also blamed the bus boy for not bringing us our to go boxes, maybe they were understaffed didn’t pay attention or care to observe. Won’t be back.

Both the clam chowder and BBQ salmon were both quite good.

Our waitress Jennifer was very attentive and friendly. We will return. Thank you!

The name just changed and it is now the same name as another owned by the same people. The menu is broad. I had a burger which was very good, cooked to order. My friend had whitefish. Her serving of fish, vegetables and mashed potatoes could have served 2 or 3. I think our server’s name was Jeremy. He was outstanding and met our every need. Very personable. It was my first time at this restaurant and it won’t be my last. Only minor issue was the microphone for the trivia game going on in the bar bled over into the restaurant.

Went with several ladies for lunch and we were pleasantly surprised by the extensive menu and specials on Monday with the $6-$8- $11 options. Food was tasty and the service good.

Had dinner on 1/17 to celebrate my daughter in laws and wife’s birthday. I’d recommend Grand Tavern for an evening out with one caveat. It could be better by management getting more involved. This restaurant is very similar to the Rochester Hills site as it is borderline good. What could make it better is if the manager would take the time to canvass the patrons once in a while to see how the dining experience was actually going. Act like you care a little. Don’t assume anything. We did see the manager standing around doing busy work but she was already setting up the tables for Saturday mornings buffet (we think) and that was around 8:30 PM. We want to see this franchise be successful but feedback is important. Making sure the dining experience is worth the time and money will benefit both customers and the owners. Our server was very good and the food was hot but just average for the price. We won’t give up on Grand Tavern just yet but a little more engagement and feedback would go a long way.

Food was horrible - I’ve had better steak at Ponderosa. Mixed drink was terrible. Ambiance was terrible too as they were constantly moving tables. Service wasn’t too bad. I would definitely not recommend at all!

Disappointing New Year's Eve dinner - the service, the food, everything. The management is obviously struggling with the way they treat their employees as they were sorely short-handed yet still decided to offer service. If you can't fully staff your establishment, you should thin twice about being open. My family came with the full expectation of a good meal - a reasonable expectation - but when you have only a handful of staff serving the entire restaurant, you show that your greed is more important that the product you are attempting to serve.
Our family of 4 was seated in the bar area - not generally an issue except for the fact the bartender was serving the entire section AND was taking care of drinks for the entire restaurant. He was doing the best he could but given the lack of support, the manager should have thought twice about how many people could be seated there (and in the rest of the restaurant).
Food was terrible - the bbq rib and shrimp special I ordered was perhaps the worst ribs I've ever had. Hard, chewy and slathered with Sysco bottled bbq sauce. The shrimp were way over cooked and rubbery - and also slathered with cheap Sysco bottled bbq sauce. Others at the table we disappointed with their dishes as well - none of us were impressed.
We ordered a bottle of wine which was way over-priced. The server even mentioned the bottle we selected was one of the few offered at local stores. (Kroger offers the same bottle for literally 1/5 the cost. I get that restaurants need to mark up the cost of wine (it's one of their biggest money makers) but an off-the-shelf bottle that I could easily find a Kroger for 5x the cost is ridiculous.
We didn't say anything to the manager as it was obvious the quality of food was not their concern - they just wanted to fill as many tables as possible without care or concern to the quality being put out.

We were there New Years Eve. Reservations were at 6:30, did not get our food till almost 8:00p.m.
Our waiter Nick was excellent , very polite and always checked on our food.

Celebrated 8 year olds birthday! Nice family place. Tasty food. Nice menu options.

The food was decent and everything came out hot, but having a 5:30 dinner reservation and not getting out until almost 7:45 is absurd for a restaurant that was barely half full. If they could work on the service this place would do well and I would be back.

Salmon was raw and had to be sent back. My ribs were awful. Full of gristle and only half eaten. We’ve been there a couple times before and it was fine. Doubt we’ll return anytime soon.

Seemed a little chain restaurant like. Food was luke warm. Was just an okay meal. Everything acceptably fine not amazing not terrible.

I get together with a group of friends once a month and we always meet on Mondays, primarily because of the great deals they have on food with the order of one cocktail or glass of wine. the service is good, the portions are large and it is an enjoyable dinner at a modest price

Great server

Our waiter, Ethan, wasn’t very attentive. He didn’t remember who orders what. There were only 4 of us and everything he brought out, he gave to the wrong person. Good was mediocre. Not impressed by anything. Service was the biggest disappointment. I noted it was a birthday in my reservation. When we were leaving a different waiter said something. Our server didn’t say anything nor did he even ask if we wanted to order dessert. Don’t plan on going back and wouldn’t recommend.

Generous servings. Salmon dish was enough for 3 meals.
More vegetarian dishes would be welcome. Decent meal, not too expensive. Lacks warmth in the decor. Very stark & cold.
Nice bar with great live entertainment.

We had a 10:00 am reservation. We arrived a little after 10 and The door was locked and we had to knock strongly to get someone to come to the door. After being seated we had to wait a bit until the buffet was completely set up. After that it was top notch all the way.

One word: Disappointed
